3 Mosebok 5

1 Når nokon høyrer ei våbøn som vert lyst yver ein brotsmann, og han hev set eller veit noko so han kunde vitna mot honom, men like vel ikkje segjer ifrå, og soleis syndar og fører skuld yver seg,

“And when a person sins, and has heard the voice of an oath, and he [is] witness, or has seen, or has known—if he does not declare [it], then he has borne his iniquity.

2 eller nokon, seg uvitande, kjem innåt noko ureint, anten det er etslet av eit ureint villdyr eller av eit ureint krøter eller av eit ureint krek, og soleis sjølv vert urein og fører skuld yver seg,

Or when a person comes against anything unclean, or against a carcass of an unclean beast, or against a carcass of unclean livestock, or against a carcass of an unclean teeming creature, and it has been hidden from him, then he [is] unclean and guilty;

3 eller når han kjem nær noko ureint av folk, kva det so er for ureinska som er på deim, og han ikkje veit av det, men sidan fær vita det og ser at han hev ført skuld yver seg,

or when he comes against [the] uncleanness of man, even any of his uncleanness whereby he is unclean, and it has been hidden from him, and he has known, then he has been guilty.

4 eller når nokon sver tankelaust burt i veret at han vil gjera eitt eller anna, slikt som folk kann koma til å sverja på i tankeløysa, og han ikkje håttar det, men sidan vert vis med at han hev ført skuld yver seg med eitkvart sovore,

Or when a person swears, speaking wrongfully with the lips to do evil, or to do good, even anything which man speaks wrongfully with an oath, and it has been hid from him—when he has known then he has been guilty of one of these;

5 so skal den som soleis hev ført skuld yver seg standa til kva han hev synda i,

and it has been when he is guilty of one of these, that he has confessed concerning that which he has sinned,

6 og til bot for den syndi han hev gjort, skal han koma til Herren med eit syndoffer - det skal vera eit småkrøter av hoslaget, søya eller geit - og presten skal bera fram soningsoffer for honom og gjer honom rein for syndi.

and has brought in his guilt-offering to YHWH for his sin which he has sinned, a female out of the flock, a lamb, or a kid of the goats, for a sin-offering, and the priest has made atonement for him because of his sin.

7 Hev han ikkje råd til eit småkrøter, so skal han til bot for den syndi han hev gjort bera fram for Herren tvo turtelduvor eller tvo duveungar, den eine til syndoffer og den andre til brennoffer.

And if his hand does not reach to the sufficiency of a lamb, then he has brought in his guilt-offering—he who has sinned—two turtle-doves or two young pigeons to YHWH, one for a sin-offering and one for a burnt-offering;

8 Han skal koma til presten med deim, og presten skal fyrst bera fram den duva som skal vera til syndoffer. Han skal vrida um hovudet på henne tett uppmed nakken, men ikkje skilja det frå bulen.

and he has brought them to the priest, and has brought near that which [is] for a sin-offering first, and has wrung off its head from its neck, and does not separate [it],

9 So skal han skvetta noko av syndofferblodet på altarveggen, og det som er att av blodet, skal kreistast ut so det renn ned innmed altarfoten. Då er det eit rett syndoffer.

and he has sprinkled of the blood of the sin-offering on the side of the altar, and that which is left of the blood is wrung out at the foundation of the altar; it [is] a sin-offering.

10 Av den andre duva skal han laga til eit brennoffer, på rette gjerdi. Når presten soleis hev bore fram soningsoffer for den syndi han hev gjort, so skal han få tilgjeving.

And he makes the second a burnt-offering, according to the ordinance, and the priest has made atonement for him because of his sin which he has sinned, and it has been forgiven him.

11 Hev han ikkje råd til tvo turtelduvor eller tvo duveungar, so skal han til bot for di han hev synda koma med ei kanna fint mjøl; det skal vera syndofferet hans. Han skal ikkje hava olje på det, og ikkje leggja røykjelse attmed; for det er eit syndoffer.

And if his hand does not reach to two turtle-doves, or to two young pigeons, then he has brought in his offering—he who has sinned—a tenth of an ephah of flour for a sin-offering; he puts no oil on it, nor does he put frankincense on it, for it [is] a sin-offering,

12 Til presten skal han koma med det, og presten skal taka ein neve av mjølet og brenna på altaret, saman med offerretterne åt Herren, då er det eit rett syndoffer.

and he has brought it to the priest, and the priest has taken a handful from it of the fullness of his hand—its memorial—and has made incense on the altar, according to the fire-offerings of YHWH; it [is] a sin-offering.

13 Når presten soleis hev bore fram soningsoffer for den syndi han på den eine eller den andre måten hev gjort, so skal han få tilgjeving. Dette offeret skal høyra presten til på same vis som grjonofferet.»»

And the priest has made atonement for him, for his sin which he has sinned against one of these, and it has been forgiven him, and [the remnant] has been for the priest, like the present.”

14 Og Herren tala atter til Moses, og sagde:

And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

15 «Er det nokon som uviljande eignar til seg noko av det som er vigt åt Herren, og soleis vert saka i svik, so skal han til bot for si skuld koma til Herren med ein lytelaus ver av fenaden sin, ein som etter ditt skyn er verd minst tvo sylvdalar i heilag mynt; det skal vera skuldofferet hans.

“When a person commits a trespass, and has sinned through ignorance against the holy things of YHWH, then he has brought in his guilt-offering to YHWH, a ram, a perfect one, out of the flock, at your valuation [in] silver—shekels by the shekel of the holy place—for a guilt-offering.

16 Det han med urett hev eigna til seg av dei vigde gåvorne, skal han gjeva att, og attåt leggja femteparten av verdet. Han skal gjeva det til presten, og når presten hev ofra skuldofferveren til soning for honom, skal han få tilgjeving.

And that which he has sinned against the holy thing he repays, and is adding to it its fifth, and has given it to the priest, and the priest makes atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering, and it has been forgiven him.

17 Når nokon syndar og gjer noko av det som Herren hev forbode å gjera, og han ikkje veit av det, men skynar at han hev fare i mist og ført skuld yver seg,

And when any person sins, and has done [something against] one of all the commands of YHWH [regarding things] which are not to be done, and has not known, then he has been guilty, and has borne his iniquity.

18 so skal han til bot for si skuld koma til presten med ein lytelaus ver av fenaden sin, ein som etter ditt skyn er eit fullgodt offer; og presten skal bera fram soningsoffer for den misgjerdi han hev gjort og ikkje visste av, og då skal han få tilgjeving.

Then he has brought in a ram, a perfect one, out of the flock, at your valuation, for a guilt-offering, to the priest; and the priest has made atonement for him, for his ignorance in which he has erred and he has not known, and it has been forgiven him;

19 Dette er eit skuldoffer; for det var visst at han bar på ei skuld imot Herren.»

it [is] a guilt-offering; he has certainly been guilty before YHWH.”
