3 Mosebok 18
1 Og Herren tala atter til Moses, og sagde:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 «Tala til Israels-folket, og seg med deim: «Eg er Herren, dykkar Gud.
Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say vnto them, I am the Lord your God.
3 De skal ikkje fara etter det som er skikk og sed i Egyptarlandet, der de fyrr budde, eller i Kana’ans-landet, som eg fører dykk til, og ikkje fylgja loverne deira.
After ye doings of the land of Egypt, wherin ye dwelt, shall ye not doe: and after the maner of the land of Canaan, whither I will bring you, shall ye not do, neither walke in their ordinances,
4 Mine bod skal de lyda, og mine lover skal de halda dykk etter og fylgja. Eg er Herren, dykkar Gud;
But do after my iudgements, and keepe mine ordinances, to walke therein: I am the Lord your God.
5 de skal halda bodi og loverne mine; held menneskja deim, so skal ho finna livet i deim. Kom i hug: eg er Herren.
Ye shall keepe therefore my statutes, and my iudgements, which if a man doe, he shall then liue in them: I am the Lord.
6 Ingen av dykk må koma innåt noko nærskyldt kvende og søkja seng med henne; kom i hug: eg er Herren.
None shall come neere to any of ye kinred of his flesh to vncouer her shame: I am the Lord.
7 Du skal hava age for lega åt far din og mor di. Ho er mor di; du skal ikkje søkja seng med henne.
Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy father, nor the shame of thy mother: for she is thy mother, thou shalt not discouer her shame.
8 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med stykmor di; ho er vivet åt far din.
The shame of thy fathers wife shalt thou not discouer: for it is thy fathers shame.
9 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med syster di, som hev same far eller same mor som du; anten ho er fødd i eller utanfor huset, so skal du ikkje søkja seng med henne.
Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy sister the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether shee bee borne at home, or borne without: thou shalt not discouer their shame.
10 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med sonedotter eller dotterdotter di; for det er ditt eige avkjøme.
The shame of thy sonnes daughter, or of thy daughters daughter, thou shalt not, I say, vncouer their shame: for it is thy shame.
11 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med dotter åt stykmor di; ho er dotter åt far din, og ho er syster di.
The shame of thy fathers wiues daughter, begotten of thy father (for she is thy sister) thou shalt not, I say, discouer her shame.
12 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med farsyster di; det er same blodet som far din.
Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy fathers sister: for she is thy fathers kinswoman.
13 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med morsyster di; det er same blodet som mor di.
Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy mothers sister: for she is thy mothers kinsewoman.
14 Du skal ikkje skjemma lega åt farbror din og koma kona hans for nær; for ho er farsyster di.
Thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy fathers brother: that is, thou shalt not goe in to his wife, for she is thine aunte.
15 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med verdotter di. Ho er vivet åt son din; du skal ikkje søkja seng med henne.
Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy daughter in lawe: for she is thy sonnes wife: therefore shalt thou not vncouer her shame.
16 Du skal ikkje søkja seng med brorkona di; ho er vivet åt din eigen bror.
Thou shalt not discouer the shame of thy brothers wife. for it is thy brothers shame.
17 Hev du havt samlega med et kvende, so skal du ikkje søkja seng med dotter hennar; heller ikkje skal du ganga i seng med sonedotter eller dotterdotter hennar. Det er blodskam; for dei er same folket.
Thou shalt not discouer the shame of the wife and of her daughter, neither shalt thou take her sonnes daughter, nor her daughters daughter, to vncouer her shame: for they are thy kinsfolkes, and it were wickednesse.
18 Du skal ikkje gifta deg med versyster di og søkja seng med henne, medan kona di liver; for då set du hat millom deim.
Also thou shalt not take a wife with her sister, during her life, to vexe her, in vncouering her shame vpon her.
19 Du skal ikkje koma innåt noko kvende og søkja seng med henne, medan ho hev månadssjuken sin og er urein.
Thou shalt not also go vnto a woman to vncouer her shame, as long as she is put apart for her disease.
20 Du skal ikkje liggja hjå kona åt grannen din og på den måten gjera deg urein.
Moreouer, thou shalt not giue thy selfe to thy neighbours wife by carnall copulation, to be defiled with her.
21 Du skal ikkje gjeva noko av borni dine frå deg til Molok; for då vanhelgar du namnet åt din Gud. Eg er Herren!
Also thou shalt not giue thy children to offer them vnto Molech, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God: for I am the Lord.
22 Du skal ikkje liggja hjå ein kar, som ein ligg med eit kvende; det er ein styggedom.
Thou shalt not lie with ye male as one lieth with a woman: for it is abomination.
23 Med dyr må du aldri blanda deg; for då vert du urein. Og heller ikkje må kvende gjeva seg i lag med dyr og para seg med deim. Det er skjemdarferd.
Thou shalt not also lie with any beast to bee defiled therewith, neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie downe thereto: for it is abomination.
24 Gjer dykk ikkje ureine med sovori åtferd! For slikt var det dei gjorde seg ureine med, dei folki som eg driv ut for augo dykkar;
Yee shall not defile your selues in any of these things: for in al these the nations are defiled, which I will cast out before you:
25 då vart landet ureint, og eg heimsøkte det for broti deira, og landet støytte deim ut.
And the land is defiled: therefore I wil visit the wickednesse thereof vpon it, and the lande shall vomit out her inhabitants.
26 Men de skal halda bodi og loverne mine, både de sjølve og dei framande som bur millom dykk; de skal ikkje gjera noko av dei skjemdarverki
Ye shall keepe therefore mine ordinances, and my iudgements, and commit none of these abominations, aswell hee that is of the same countrey, as the straunger that soiourneth among you.
27 som dei sulka ut landet med, dei som åtte det fyre dykk;
(For all these abominations haue the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled:
28 for då kjem landet til å støyta dykk ut, for di de sulkar det til, liksom det støytte ut det folket som var der fyre dykk.
And shall not the lande spue you out if ye defile it, as it spued out the people that were before you?)
29 For alle dei som gjer slike skjemdarverk, dei skal rydjast ut or folket sitt.
For whosoeuer shall commit any of these abominations, the persons that doe so, shall bee cut off from among their people.
30 So haldt då dei bodi eg hev gjeve dykk, og tak ikkje etter dei fæle ugjerderne som dei hadde, dei som var fyre dykk; for med det gjer de dykk ureine: Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!»»
Therefore shall yee keepe mine ordinances that ye do not any of the abominable customes, which haue bene done before you, and that yee defile not your selues therein: for I am the Lord your God.
