Josvas 11
1 Då Jabin, kongen i Hasor, fekk spurt dette, sende han bod til Jobab, kongen i Madon, og til kongen i Simron og kongen i Aksaf
And it was when heard Jabin [the] king of Hazor and he sent to Jobab [the] king of Madon and to [the] king of Shimron and to [the] king of Acshaph.
2 og dei andre kongarne der nord, i fjellbygderne og på moarne sunnanfor Kinnerot og på låglandet og på Dorhøgderne utmed havet -
And to the kings who [were] from [the] north in the hill country and in the Arabah south of Kinnereth and in the Shephelah and on [the] heights of Dor from [the] west.
3 til kananitarne, både i aust og i vest, og til amoritarne og hetitarne og perizitarne og jebusitarne uppi fjelli, og hevitarne nedunder Hermon, i Mispalandet.
The Canaanite[s] from [the] east and from [the] west and the Amorite[s] and the Hittite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Jebusite[s] in the hill country and the Hivite[s] under Hermon in [the] land of Mizpah.
4 Då tok dei ut med alle herarne sine, ein hop so tett som sanden på havsens strand, med hestar og vogner i haugetal.
And they came out they and all armies their with them a people numerous like the sand which [is] on [the] shore of the sea for multitude and horse[s] and chariot[s] many very.
5 Alle desse kongarne sette einannan stemna, og for til Meromvatnet; der lægra dei seg alle i hop, og vilde stridast med Israel.
And they gathered all the kings these and they came and they encamped together to [the] water of Merom to wage war with Israel.
6 Då sagde Herren til Josva: «Ver ikkje rædd deim! I morgon dette bil legg eg deim alle drepne framfor augo åt Israel. Du skal skjera sund hasarne på hestarne deira og brenna upp vognerne!»
And he said Yahweh to Joshua may not you be afraid because of them for tomorrow about the time this I [am] delivering up all of them slain before Israel horses their you will hamstring and chariots their you will burn with fire.
7 Josva og heile heren hans kom brått yver deim ved Meromvatnet, og tok på deim.
And he came Joshua and all [the] people of war with him on them at [the] waters of Merom suddenly and they fell on them.
8 Og Herren gav deim i Israels hender; Israels-sønerne vann yver deim og sette etter deim alt til Stor-Sidon og Misrefot-Majim og i aust alt til Mispedalen, og hogg deim ned, so ingen vart att eller slapp undan.
And he gave them Yahweh in [the] hand of Israel and they struck down them and they pursued them to Sidon great and to Misrephoth Maim and to [the] valley of Mizpah east-wards and they struck down them until not he had left to them a survivor.
9 Og Josva for åt med deim som Herren hadde sagt til honom; hestarne deira skar han hasarne sund på, og vognerne brende han upp.
And he did to them Joshua just as he had said to him Yahweh horses their he hamstrung and chariots their he burned with fire.
10 Med so gjort snudde han um, og tok Hasor og hogg ned kongen som budde der; for Hasor var fyrr i tidi hovudstaden for alle desse riki.
And he turned back Joshua at the time that and he captured Hazor and king its he struck with the sword for Hazor before it [was] [the] head of all the kingdoms these.
11 Dei bannstøytte byen, og tynte med odd og egg kvart mannsbarn som der fanst; det vart ikkje livande liv att. Josva brende upp Hasor;
And they struck every person who [was] in it to [the] mouth of [the] sword they totally destroyed [them] not it was left any breathing thing and Hazor he burned with fire.
12 sidan tok han alle dei andre kongebyarne med kongarne deira, og øydde deim med odd og egg; han bannstøytte deim, soleis som Moses, Herrens tenar, hadde sagt honom fyre.
And all [the] cities of the kings these and all kings their he captured Joshua and he struck them to [the] mouth of [the] sword he totally destroyed them just as he had commanded Moses [the] servant of Yahweh.
13 Men ingen av dei byarne som låg der på høgderne, sette israelitarne eld på; det var berre Hasor Josva brende upp.
Only all the cities which were standing on mounds their not it burned them Israel except Hazor to alone it he burned Joshua.
14 Og alt herfanget og bufeet Israels-sønerne tok i desse byarne, eigna dei til seg; men folki tynte dei med odd og egg, til dei hadde rudt deim ut; dei sparde ikkje eit einaste liv.
And all [the] booty of the cities these and the cattle they plundered for themselves [the] people of Israel only every man they struck to [the] mouth of [the] sword until had destroyed they them not they left any breathing thing.
15 Det som Herren hadde sagt Moses, tenaren, sin fyre, det hadde Moses sagt med Josva, og etter det gjorde Josva; han gløymde ikkje noko av alt det Herren hadde sagt til Moses.
Just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses servant his so he commanded Moses Joshua and so he did Joshua not he left undone anything from all that he had commanded Yahweh Moses.
16 Soleis tok Josva heile dette landet, både fjellbygderne og heile Sudlandet og heile Gosenlandet og låglandet og moarne og fjellbygderne i Israel og flatlandet som ligg nedunder deim,
And he took Joshua all the land this the hill country and all the Negev and all [the] land of Goshen and the Shephelah and the Arabah and [the] hill country of Israel and Shephelah its.
17 frå svadknausen som ris upp yver Se’ir, til Ba’al-Gad i Libanonsdalen, nedunder Hermonfjellet; og alle kongarne der fanga han, og slo deim i hel.
From the mountain Halak which goes up Seir and to Baal Gad in [the] valley of Lebanon under [the] mountain of Hermon and all kings their he captured and he struck them and he killed them.
18 I lang tid låg Josva i strid med alle desse kongarne.
Days many he did Joshua with all the kings these battle.
19 Det fanst ingen by som gav seg under Israels-sønerne med gode, utan hevitarne i Gibeon; alt hitt tok dei med magt.
Not it was a city which it made peace to [the] people of Israel except the Hivite[s] [the] inhabitants of Gibeon everything they took in battle.
20 Herren laga det so at dei gjorde seg harde i hugen og møtte Israel i strid, av di han vilde at dei skulde bannstøytast og ingen nåde få, men øydast ut, soleis som han hadde sagt med Moses.
For from with Yahweh - it was to strengthen heart their to meet the battle with Israel so as to totally destroy them to not to belong to them favor for so as to destroy them just as he had commanded Yahweh Moses.
21 I den same tidi kom Josva og rudde ut anakitarne i fjellbygderne, i Hebron og Debir og Anab, og på heile Judafjellet og heile Israelsfjellet. Han bannstøytte både deim og byarne deira.
And he came Joshua at the time that and he cut off the Anakites from the hill country from Hebron from Debir from Anab and from all [the] hill country of Judah and from all [the] hill country of Israel with cities their he totally destroyed them Joshua.
22 Ingen anakit vart att i Israelslandet, berre dei som var i Gasa og Gat og Asdod, fekk liva.
Not it was left Anakites in [the] land of [the] people of Israel only in Gaza in Gath and in Ashdod they remained.
23 Josva lagde under seg heile landet, heiltupp soleis som Herren hadde sagt til Moses, og let israelitarne få det til odel og eiga etter sine folkegreiner og ætter, då landet var kome til ro etter ufreden.
And he took Joshua all the land according to all that he had spoken Yahweh to Moses and he gave it Joshua to an inheritance to Israel according to divisions their to tribes their and the land it was at peace from war.
