Haggai 2
1 Den ein og tjugande dagen i sjuande månaden kom Herrens ord ved profeten Haggai:
In the seuenth moneth, in the one and twentieth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,
2 Tala til Zerubbabel Sealtielsson, jarlen i Juda, og til øvstepresten Josva Josadaksson og til det som er att av folket.
Speake nowe to Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3 Finst det endå nokon attlivande millom dykk som hev set dette huset i sin fyrre herlegdom? Kva tykkjer de um det no? Er det ikkje for augo dykkar som inkjevetta?
Who is left among you, that sawe this House in her first glory, and howe doe you see it nowe? is it not in your eyes, in comparison of it as nothing?
4 Men ver hugheil no, Zerubbabel! segjer Herren, ver hugheil, øvsteprest Josva Josadaksson! ver hugheilt, alt folket i landet! segjer Herren, og arbeid! For eg er med dykk, segjer Herren, allhers drott;
Yet nowe be of good courage, O Zerubbabel, sayth the Lord, and be of good comfort, O Iehoshua, sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest: and be strong, all ye people of the land, sayth the Lord, and doe it: for I am with you, sayth the Lord of hostes,
5 den avtalen eg gjorde med dykk ved utferdi frå Egyptarland, skal standa ved lag, og min ande skal bu millom dykk. Ver ikkje rædde!
According to the worde that I couenanted with you, when ye came out of Egypt: so my Spirite shall remaine among you, feare ye not.
6 For so segjer Herren, allhers drott: Enno ein gong um eit lite bil skal eg skaka himmel og jord og hav og land.
For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Yet a litle while, and I will shake the heauens and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land:
7 Eg skal skaka alle folki, so dei dyraste eignaluterne frå alle folki skal koma hit, og eg skal fylla dette huset med herlegdom, segjer Herren, allhers drott.
And I will moue all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this House with glory, sayth the Lord of hostes.
8 Sylvet er mitt, og gullet er mitt, segjer Herren, allhers drott.
The siluer is mine, and the golde is mine, sayth the Lord of hostes.
9 Den komande herlegdom i dette siste huset skal verta større enn det fyrre, segjer Herren, allhers drott; og på denne staden vil eg gjeva fred, segjer Herren, allhers drott.
The glory of this last House shall be greater then the first, sayth the Lord of hostes: and in this place will I giue peace, sayth the Lord of hostes.
10 Den fire og tjugande dagen i niande månaden i andre styringsåret åt kong Darius kom Herrens ord ved profeten Haggai.
In the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto the Prophet Haggai, saying,
11 So segjer Herren, allhers drott: Spør kva prestarne lærer um dette:
Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Aske nowe the Priests concerning the Law, and say,
12 Um ein mann ber heilagt kjøt i klædesnippen og so med snippen kjem nær noko brød eller kokemat eller vin eller olje eller anna etande, vert då det heilagt? Prestane svara nei.
If one beare holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt doe touch the bread, or the potage, or the wine, or oyle, or any meate, shall it be holy? And the Priests answered and said, No.
13 So spurde Haggai: «Men um ein hev vorte urein av eit lik og so kjem nær noko av alt dette, vert det då ureint?» Prestarne svara ja.
Then sayde Haggai, If a polluted person touch any of these, shall it be vncleane? And the Priests answered, and sayd, It shalbe vncleane.
14 Då tok Haggai til ords og sagde: Soleis er det med denne lyden, og soleis er det med dette folket i mine augo, segjer Herren, og like eins med alt det deira hender gjer, og det dei ofrar der, det er ureint.
Then answered Haggai, and sayd, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord: and so are all the workes of their hands, and that which they offer here, is vncleane.
15 Gjev no gaum frå i dag og attende. Fyrr de tok til og lagde stein på stein i Herrens tempel,
And nowe, I pray you, consider in your mindes: from this day, and afore, euen afore a stone was layde vpon a stone in the Temple of the Lord:
16 når einkvan i den tid gjekk til ein korndunge på tjuge skjeppor, so fann han berre ti; når einkvan gjekk til ei vinpersa og vilde ausa upp femti mål, so fekk han ikkje meir enn tjuge.
Before these things were, when one came to an heape of twentie measures, there were but ten: when one came to the wine presse for to drawe out fiftie vessels out of the presse, there were but twentie.
17 Eg søkte dykk med sotbrand og rust og haglver yver alt dykkar arbeid, og endå vende de ikkje um til meg, segjer Herren.
I smote you with blasting, and with mildewe, and with haile, in all the labours of your hands: yet you turned not to me, saith the Lord.
18 Men gjev gaum no frå i dag og attende, frå fire og tjugande dagen i niande månaden alt til den dagen då Herrens tempel vart tufta. Gjev gaum!
Consider, I pray you, in your mindes, from this day, and afore from the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, euen from the day that the foundation of the Lords Temple was laide: consider it in your mindes.
19 Finst det enno att noko sæde i kornburet? Og korkje vintreet eller fiketreet eller granatapallen eller oljetreet hev bore noko! Frå i dag skal eg velsigna.
Is the seede yet in the barne? as yet the vine, and the figtree, and the pomegranate, and the oliue tree hath not brought forth: from this day will I blesse you.
20 Andre gongen kom Herrens ord til Haggai den fire og tjugande dagen i månaden:
And againe the worde of the Lord came vnto Haggai in the foure and twentieth day of the moneth, saying,
21 Seg til Zerubbabel, jarlen yver Juda: Eg skal skaka himmel og jord;
Speake to Zerubbabel the prince of Iudah, and say, I wil shake the heauens and the earth,
22 eg skal velta i koll kongsstolarne og tyna veldet åt dei heidne kongeriki; eg skal velta stridsvognerne og deim som stend på deim, og hestarne skal stupa og ridarene med, den eine for sverdet åt hin.
And I will ouerthrowe the throne of kingdomes, and I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I wil ouerthrowe the charets, and those that ride in them, and the horse and the riders shall come downe, euery one by the sword of his brother.
23 Den dagen, segjer Herren, allhers drott, tek eg deg, Zerubbabel Sealtielsson, du min tenar, og gjer deg til ein seglring; for deg hev eg valt ut, segjer Herren, allhers drott.
In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel my seruant, the sonne of Shealtiel, sayth the Lord, and wil make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lord of hostes.
