Here is a list of the descendants of Adam. When God created humans, he caused them to be like him in many ways.
2 Til kar og kvinna skapte han deim. Og han velsigna deim, og kalla deim menneskje den dagen då dei vart skapte.
He created one man and one woman. He blessed them, and on the day that he created them, he called them ‘human beings’.
3 Då Adam var hundrad og tretti år gamall, fekk han ein son som var so lik honom som det skulde vore hans eige bilæte, og han kalla honom Set.
When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son who [grew up to] be just like him. That was the son he named Seth.
4 Og etter han hadde fenge Set, livde han endå åtte hundrad år, og fekk søner og døtter.
After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 more years, and during those years he became the father of other sons and daughters.
5 Og alle livedagarne hans Adam vart ni hundrad og tretti år. So døydde han.
Adam lived 930 years altogether, and then he died.
6 Då Set var hundrad og fem år gamall, fekk han sonen Enos.
When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh.
7 Og etter han hadde fenge Enos, livde han endå åtte hundrad og sju år, og fekk søner og døtter.
After Enosh was born, Seth lived 807 more years, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
8 Og alle dagarne hans Set vart ni hundrad og tolv år. So døydde han.
Seth lived 912 years altogether, and then he died.
9 Då Enos var nitti år gamall, fekk han sonen Kenan.
When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan.
10 Og etter han hadde fenge Kenan, livde han endå åtte hundrad og femtan år, og fekk søner og døtter.
After Kenan was born, Enosh lived 815 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.

15 Då Mahalalel var fem og seksti år gamall, fekk han sonen Jared.
When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared.

After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived 830 more years and became the father of other sons and daughters.
17 Og alle dagarne hans Mahalalel vart åtte hundrad og fem og nitti år. So døydde han.
Mahalalel lived 895 years altogether, and then he died.
18 Då Jared var hundrad og tvo og seksti år gamall, fekk han sonen Enok.
When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch.
19 Og etter han hadde fenge Enok, livde han endå åtte hundrad år, og fekk søner og døtter.
Jared lived 800 years after Enoch was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
20 Og alle dagarne hans Jared vart ni hundrad og tvo og seksti år. So døydde han.
Jared lived 962 years altogether, and then he died.
21 Då Enok var fem og seksti år gamall, fekk han sonen Metusalah.
When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah.
22 Og etter han hadde fenge Metusalah, gjekk han på Guds veg i tri hundrad år, og han fekk søner og døtter.
Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for 300 years after Methuselah was born, and he became the father of other sons and daughters.
23 Og alle dagarne hans Enok vart tri hundrad og fem og seksti år.
Enoch lived 365 years altogether in close fellowship with God.
24 Enok gjekk på Guds veg, og brått vart han burte; for Gud tok honom til seg.
Then one day he disappeared, because God took him away [to be with him in heaven].
25 Då Metusalah var hundrad og sju og åtteti år gamall, fekk han sonen Lamek.
When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.
26 Og etter han hadde fenge Lamek, livde han endå sju hundrad og tvo og åtteti år, og fekk søner og døtter.
Methuselah lived 782 years after Lamech was born, and became the father of other sons and daughters.
27 Og alle dagarne hans Metusalah vart ni hundrad og ni og seksti år. So døydde han.
Methuselah lived 969 years altogether, and then he died.
28 Då Lamek var hundrad og tvo og åtteti år gamall, fekk han ein son,
When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son,
29 og kalla honom Noah, og sagde: «Han skal hugga oss i arbeidet vårt, og i alt vårt slit og slæp på den jordi som Herren hev forbanna.»
whom he named Noah, [which sounds like the Hebrew word that means ‘relief’], because he said, “He will bring us relief from all the hard work we have been doing to produce food from the ground that Yahweh cursed.”
30 Og etter han hadde fenge Noah, livde han endå fem hundrad og fem og nitti år, og fekk søner og døtter.
Lamech lived 595 years after Noah was born and became the father of other sons and daughters.
31 Og alle dagarne hans Lamek vart sju hundrad og sju og sytti år. So døydde han.
Lamech lived 777 years altogether, and then he died.
32 Då Noah hadde fyllt fem hundrad år, fekk han sønerne Sem og Kham og Jafet.
When Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of a son whom he named Shem. Later he became the father of another son whom he named Ham, and later he became the father of another son whom he named Japheth.
