1 Mosebok 10
1 Dette er dei ætterne som hev kome frå sønerne hans Noah, Sem og Kham og Jafet; dei fekk søner, etter storflodi hadde vore:
Now these are the generations of the sonnes of Noah, Shem, Ham and Iapheth: vnto whom sonnes were borne after the flood.
2 Sønerne hans Jafet var Gomer og Magog og Madaj og Javan og Tubal og Mesek og Tiras.
The sonnes of Iapheth were Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Iauan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 Og sønerne hans Gomer var Askenas og Rifat og Togarma.
And the sonnes of Gomer, Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 Og sønerne hans Javan var Elisa og Tarsis, og Kittim og Dodanim.
Also the sonnes of Iauan, Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 Frå deim hev folki på heidninge-øyarne greina seg ut i landi sine, kvart med sitt tungemål, etter sine ætter, i sine rike.
Of these were the yles of the Gentiles deuided in their landes, euery man after his tongue, and after their families in their nations.
6 Og sønerne hans Kham var Kusj og Misrajim og Put og Kana’an.
Moreouer, ye sonnes of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
7 Og sønerne hans Kusj var Seba og Havila og Sabta og Raema og Sabteka, og sønerne hans Raema var Sjeba og Dedan.
And the sonnes of Cush, Seba and Hauilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: also the sonnes of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
8 Og Kusj hadde endå ein son, som heitte Nimrod. Han var den fyrste som fekk stort velde på jordi.
And Cush begate Nimrod, who began to be mightie in the earth.
9 Han var ein gjæv veidemann i Herrens augo. Difor vert det sagt: «Ein gjæv veidemann i Herrens augo, som Nimrod.»
He was a mightie hunter before the Lord. wherefore it is saide, As Nimrod the mightie hunter before the Lord.
10 Fyrst rådde han yver Babel og Erek og Akkad og Kalne i Sinearlandet.
And the beginning of his kingdome was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 Frå det landet for han til Assur, og bygde Nineve og Rehobot-Ir og Kalah
Out of that land came Asshur, and builded Niniueh, and the citie Rehoboth, and Calah:
12 og Resen millom Nineve og Kalah; dette er Storstaden.
Resen also betweene Niniueh and Calah: this is a great citie.
13 Og Misrajim vart far til ludarane og anamarane og lehabarane og naftuharane
And Mizraim begate Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim.
14 og patrusarane og kasluharane, dei som filistarane hev kome frå, og kaftorarane.
Pathrusim also, and Casluhim (out of whom came the Philistims) and Caphtorims.
15 Og Kana’an vart far til Sidon - det var den fyrste sonen hans - og til Het
Also Canaan begat Zidon his first borne, and Heth,
16 og til jebusitarne og amoritarne og girgasitarne
And Iebusi, and Emori, and Girgashi,
17 og hevitarne og arkitarne og sinitarne,
And Hiui, and Arki, and Sini,
18 og arvaditarne og semaritarne og hamatitarne. Sidan breidde kananitarfolki seg vidare ut.
And Aruadi, and Zemari, and Hamathi: and afterwarde were the families of the Canaanites spred abroade.
19 Og landskilet åt kananitarne gjekk frå Sidon til Gaza, når du tek leidi burtimot Gerar, og til Lesa, når du tek leidi burtimot Sodoma og Gomorra og Adma og Sebojim.
Then the border of the Canaanites was from Zidon, as thou commest to Gerar vntil Azzah, and as thou goest vnto Sodom, and Gomorah, and Admah, and Zeboijm, euen vnto Lasha.
20 Dette er Khams-sønerne, med sine ætter og tungemål, i sine land og rike.
These are the sonnes of Ham according to their families, according to their tongues in their countries and in their nations.
21 Og Sem, eldste bror hans Jafet, han fekk og born; han er det som alle Ebers-sønerne er ætta frå.
Vnto Shem also the father of all the sonnes of Eber, and elder brother of Iapheth were children borne.
22 Og sønerne hans Sem var Elam og Assur og Arpaksad og Lud og Aram.
The sonnes of Shem were Elam and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Og sønerne hans Aram var Us og Hul og Geter og Mas.
And the sonnes of Aram, Vz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
24 Og Arpaksad fekk sonen Salah, og Salah fekk sonen Eber.
Also Arpachshad begate Shelah, and Shelah begate Eber.
25 Og Eber fekk tvo søner. Den eine heitte Peleg; for i hans dagar vart jordi utbytt millom folki. Og bror hans heitte Joktan.
Vnto Eber also were borne two sonnes: the name of the one was Peleg: for in his dayes was the earth diuided: and his brothers name was Ioktan.
26 Og Joktan vart far til Almodad og Salef og Hasarmavet og Jarah
Then Ioktan begate Almodad and Sheleph, and Hazarmaueth, and Ierah,
27 og Hadoram og Uzal og Dikla
And Hadoram, and Vzal, and Dicklah,
28 og Obal og Abimael og Sjeba
And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 og Ofir og Havila og Jobab; alle desse var sønerne hans Joktan.
And Ophir, and Hauilah, and Iobab: all these were the sonnes of Ioktan.
30 Og dei budde i Austfjellet, frå Mesa og burtimot Sefar.
And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest vnto Sephar a mount of the East.
31 Dette er sønerne hans Sem, med sine ætter og tungemål, i sine land og med sine rike.
These are the sonnes of Shem according to their families, according to their tongues, in their countreis and nations.
32 Dette var dei folki som hev kome frå sønerne hans Noah, etter sine ættgreiner, i sine rike. Og frå deim hev alle folkeslag greina seg ut yver jordi etter storflodi.
These are the families of the sonnes of Noah, after their generations among their people: and out of these were the nations diuided in the earth after the flood.
