Esekiel 5
1 Og du, menneskjeson! Tak deg eit kvast sverd! Til rakekniv skal du bruka det, og du skal føra det yver ditt hovud og skjegg; tak deg so ei skålvegt og skift det du hev raka av!
Thou therefore son of man Take thee a sharp cutting instrument, a barber’s razor, shalt thou take thee, and shalt cause it to pass upon thy head and upon thy chin, —and shalt take the balances for weighing, and shalt divide the hair.
2 Ein tridjepart skal du brenna upp i eld midt i byen når kringsetjingsdagarne er lidne, og ein tridjepart skal du taka og slå med sverdet vida ikring, og ein tridjepart skal du spreida ut i vinden, og sverd vil draga ut etter deim.
A third part in the fire, shalt thou burn in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled, —and thou shalt take a third part, thou shalt smite it with the cuting instrument round about it, and a third part, shalt thou scatter to the wind, and, a sword, will I, make bare after them;
3 Men du skal taka undan nokre få av deim og binda deim i kjolesnipparne dine.
and thou shalt take from thence, a few in number, —and shalt bind them in thy skirts;
4 Og av deim att skal du enn taka nokre og kasta deim midt inn i elden og brenna deim upp i eld. Derifrå skal koma eld yver all Israels-lyden.
and of them, again take, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire, -therefrom, shall go forth a fire unto all the house of Israel.
5 So segjer Herren, Herren: Dette Jerusalem, midt imillom folki sette eg det, og land var det rundt ikring.
Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, This, is Jerusalem, In the midst of the nations, I placed her, — and of the countries round about her;
6 Men det hev sett seg upp mot mine lover, so det vart ugudlegare enn folki, og mot mine bodord, so dei vart verre enn landi rundt ikring; for mine lover vanvyrde dei, og i mine bodord ferdast dei ikkje.
But she hath changed my regulations into lawlessness, more than the nations, And my statutes more than the countries which are round bout her, For my regulations, have they rejected, And in my statutes, have they not walked.
7 Difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Av di at de hev rasa verre enn heidningfolki rundt ikring dykk, ikkje ferdast i mine bodord og ikkje gjort etter mine lover, og jamvel ikkje gjort etter loverne åt heidningfolki som er rundt ikring dykk,
Therefore, Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh. Because ye have become more rebellious than the nations who are round about you, In my statutes, have not walked. And my regulations, have not done, And according to the regulations of the nations which are round about you, have not done:
8 difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg vil koma yver deg, eg og, og eg vil halda dom hjå deg midt framfor augo på heidningfolki.
Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Lo! I am against thee, even I, Therefore will I, execute in thy midst, judgments, in the eyes of the nations;
9 Og eg skal gjera med deg det som eg ikkje fyrr hev gjort og aldri meir vil gjera, for all styggedomen din.
Yea I will execute upon thee that which I have not executed, And like unto which I will not execute again, - Because of all thine abominations.
10 Difor skal foreldre eta borni sine hjå deg, og born eta foreldri sine. Og eg vil halda dom hjå deg, og strå alt som vert att av deg for alle vindar.
Therefore, fathers will eat sons in thy midst, And sons will eat fathers, — And I will execute upon thee judgments, And will scatter the whole remnant of thee, to every wind.
11 Difor, so sant som eg liver, segjer Herren, Herren, sanneleg, etter di du hev sulka min heilagdom med all din styggjedom og alle dine styggjor, so vil eg og snu meg frå, og mitt auga skal ikkje ynkast, og ikkje eg heller vil spara deg.
Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, — Surely because my sanctuary, thou hast defiled, with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations Even I also, will cut off, and mine eye, shall not spare, Yea even I will not pity.
12 Tridjeparten av deg skal døy av sott og verta tynt av svolt midt i deg, og tridjeparten skal falla for sverd rundt kringum deg, og tridjeparten vil eg spreida for alle vindar, og sverd vil eg draga ut etter deim.
The third part of thee by pestilence, shall die, and by famine, be consumed in thy midst And the third part by the sword, shall fall round about thee, - And the third part to every wind, will I scatter, and a sword, will I make bare after them.
13 Og all min vreide skal verta uthelt, og eg vil svala min harm på deim og hemna meg. Då skal dei sanna at eg, Herren, hev tala i min brennhug når eg heller ut all min harm på deim.
So shall mine anger have an end, And I will cause mine indignation, to find rest, upon them, and will console myself, - And they shall know that, I, Yahweh, have spoken in my jealousy, when mine indignation hath come to an end, upon them.
14 Og eg vil gjera deg til audn og til spott millom folki som er rundt kringum deg, framfor augo på kvar ein som fer framum.
And I will deliver thee up to desolation and reproach, among the nations that are round about thee, —in the eyes of every passer-by.
15 Du skal verta til spott og håd, ei åtvaring og ei skræma for folki som er rundt kringum deg, når eg held dom yver deg med vreide og med harm og med harmfulle refsingar - eg, Herren hev tala -
So shall it become a reproach and an insult a warning and an astonishment, to the nations that are round about thee, —in that I have executed upon thee judgments in anger and in indignation and in rebukes of indignation, I, Yahweh have spoken:
16 når eg sender ibland deim dei vonde hunger-pilerne som er etla til tynarverk, deim eg sender til å tyna dykk med, når eg let svolten herja dykk og bryt sund brødstaven for dykk.
In that I have sent the malignant arrows of famine among them which were for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, —and famine, will I increase upon you, and will break for you the staff of bread.
17 Eg vil senda yver dykk hunger og udyr, og dei skal gjera deg barnlaus, og sott og blod skal ganga yver deg, og sverd vil eg lata koma yver deg. Eg Herren, hev tala.
So will I send upon you famine and mischievous beast and they shall bereave thee, —and pestilence and blood, shall pass through thee, —and a sword, will I bring in upon thee, I Yahweh, have spoken.
