Esekiel 29
1 I det tiande året, den tolvte dagen i tiande månaden, kom Herrens ord til meg; han sagde:
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
2 Menneskjeson! Vend di åsyn mot Farao, kongen i Egyptarland, og spå mot honom og imot alt Egyptarland!
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
3 Tala og seg: So segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg skal finna deg, Farao, egyptarkonge, du, den store draken som ligg midt uti elvarne sine, og som segjer: «Eg eig mi elv, og sjølv hev eg gjort henne.»
Speak and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against thee, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great crocodile that lieth in the midst of his streams, who hath said, Mine is my stream, and I have made it for myself.
4 Og eg vil setja krokar i kjakarne dine, og fiskarne i elvarne dine vil eg festa i reisti dine, so dreg eg deg upp utor elvarne dine med alle fiskarne i elvarne dine, dei som er feste i reisti dine.
But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will fasten the fish of thy streams on thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy streams, with all the fish of thy streams which shall stick fast on thy scales.
5 Og eg skal kasta deg ut i øydemarki, deg og kvar ein fisk i elvarne dine. På berre marki skal du falla; du skal ikkje verta uppteken, ikkje uppsamla, dyri på jordi og fuglarne under himmelen skal få deg til mat.
And I will cast thee out into the wilderness, thee with all the fish of thy streams; upon the open field shalt thou fall; thou shalt not be brought in, nor gathered up: to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven have I given thee for food.
6 Og alle som bur i Egyptarland, skal sanna at eg er Herren, for di at dei vart ein røyrstav åt Israels-lyden;
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord; because they have been a reed-staff to the house of Israel.
7 når dei grip um deg med handi, brotnar du og flengjer deim alle i herdi, og når dei styd seg på deg, ryk du i sund og fær deim alle til å sviga i lenderne.
When they took hold of thee with the hand, thou wast cracked, and didst rend for them all the shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou wast broken, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
8 Difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg let sverd koma yver deg, og eg vil rydja ut or deg folk og fe.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and I will cut off out of thee man and beast.
9 Og Egyptarlandet skal verta til audn og øyda - og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren - for di han sagde: «Elvi er mi, og eg sjølv hev gjort henne.»
And the land of Egypt shall be changed into a waste and ruin, and they shall know that I am the Lord; because he hath said, The stream is mine, and I have made it.
10 Difor, sjå, eg vil finna deg og elvarne dine, og eg vil gjera Egyptarlandet til øydemarker, ei audn lagd i øyde, frå Midgol til Syene og alt til landskilet mot Ætiopia.
Therefore, behold, I will be against thee, and against thy streams, and I will render the land of Egypt a mass of ruins, a waste, and a wilderness, from Migdol to Seveneh even up to the border of Ethiopia.
11 Igjenom det skal ikkje mannefot ganga, og fefot skal ikkje ganga gjenom det, og det skal vera ubygt i fyrti år.
There shall not pass through it the foot of man, and the foot of beast shall not pass through it, and it shall not be inhabited forty years.
12 Og eg vil leggja Egyptarlandet i øyde midt ibland øydeland, og i byarne - midt ibland øydestader - skal det vera audt i fyrti år. Og eg vil spreida egyptarane millom folki og strå deim kringum i landi.
And I will render the land of Egypt a desolate land in the midst of desolated countries, and her cities among the cities that are ruined shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
13 For so segjer Herren, Herren: Når fyrti år er lidne, vil eg samla egyptarane frå dei folkeslag som dei var spreidde.
For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, [only] at the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they shall have been scattered;
14 Og eg vil venda Egyptarlands lagnad og føra deim attende til Patroslandet, til det landet som dei er ætta ifrå, og der skal dei vera eit vesalt kongerike.
And I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their own origin: and they shall be there an unimportant kingdom.
15 Det skal vera lægre enn andre kongerike og aldri meir hevja seg yver folki, og eg vil lata deim smogna i hop, so dei ikkje skal rikja yver folki.
Among the kingdoms it shall be the lowest; neither shall it raise itself any more above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
16 Og aldri meir skal Israels-lyden der søkja seg livd og soleis minna meg um deira misgjerning, med di dei snur seg etter deim. Og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren, Herren.
And it shall be no more unto the house of Israel for a dependence, bringing [their] iniquity to remembrance, when they turned after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Eternal.
17 So hende det i det sju og tjugande året, den fyrste dagen i fyrste månaden, at Herrens ord kom til meg; han sagde:
And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18 Menneskjeson! Nebukadressar, Babel-kongen, hev late heren sin stræva hardt mot Tyrus; kvart eit hovud er fleinskalla, og kvar ei herd avgnura. Men løn hev han og heren hans ikkje fenge av Tyrus for alt sitt stræv imot det.
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath caused his army to perform a great service against Tyre; every head hath been made bald, and every shoulder hath been rubbed sore: yet no reward hath come to him or to his army from Tyre, for the service that he hath performed against it.
19 Difor, so segjer Herren, Herren: Sjå, eg gjev Nebukadressar, Babel-kongen, Egyptarland, og han skal taka rikdomen der og rana ranet og hertaka herfanget, og det skal vera løn åt heren hans.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will give unto Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon the land of Egypt; and he shall carry away its multitude, and take its spoil, and plunder its prey: and this shall be the reward for his army.
20 Til løn åt honom for strævet gjev eg honom Egyptarland; for dei hev arbeidt for meg, segjer Herren, Herren.
As his recompense for that which he hath served against it, have I given him the land of Egypt, for that which they had done against me, saith the Lord Eternal.
21 Den same dagen vil eg lata eit horn veksa upp åt Israels-lyden; og du skal få lata upp din munn midt ibland deim, og dei skal sanna at eg er Herren.
On that day will I cause to grow a horn for the house of Israel, and unto thee will I open the mouth in the midst of them: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
