Amos 2

1 So segjer Herren: For trifald misgjerd av Moab, for firfald eg ikkje meg attrar. For di dei brende beini åt Edom-kongen til kalk,

Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Moab and on four not I will revoke it because burned he [the] bones of [the] king of Edom into lime.

2 so sender eg eld imot Moab, han skal øyda Kerijots borgar. Og i ståket Moab skal døy, med hergny og luraljod skrell.

And I will send forth a fire on Moab and it will consume [the] fortresses of Kerioth and it will die in uproar Moab with a shout of alarm with [the] sound of a trumpet.

3 Domaren deira eg tynar, alle hovdingarn’ likeins eg drep, segjer Herren.

And I will cut off a judge from midst its and all officials its I will kill with him he says Yahweh.

4 So segjer Herren: For trifald misgjerd av Juda, for firfald eg ikkje meg attrar. Då dei vanvyrde Herrens lov og heldt ikkje bodordi hans, men let seg av lygn-gudar dåra, som federne fyrr hadde fylgt,

Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Judah and on four not I will revoke it because have rejected they [the] law of Yahweh and statutes his not they have kept and they have misled them lies their which they walked ancestors their after them.

5 so sender eg eld imot Juda, han skal øyda Jerusalems borger.

And I will send forth a fire on Judah and it will consume [the] fortresses of Jerusalem.

6 So segjer Herren: For trifald misgjerd av Israel og for firfald eg ikkje meg attrar. For sylv dei sel ein skuldlaus og ein arming for eit par skor,

Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Israel and on four not I will revoke it because sold they for silver [the] righteous and [the] needy for sake of a pair of sandals.

7 dei som helst ser mold på ein stakkars hovud, og rengjer småfolks rett. Til same gjenta gjeng far og son til vanhelging for mitt heilage namn.

Those [who] trample on [the] dust of [the] earth on [the] head of poor [people] and [the] way of humble [people] they turn aside and a man and father his they go into the young woman so as to profane [the] name of holiness my.

8 Og på pantsette klæde ved kvart eit altar dei ligg, og skadebots-vin dei drikk i huset til sin Gud.

And on garments taken in pledge they stretch out beside every altar and [the] wine of fines they drink [the] house of god their.

9 Det var då eg som dreiv amoritarne frå deim, som høge som cedertre var, og sterke som eiker, men eg tynte alda i topp og roti i jord.

And I I destroyed the Amorite[s] from before them who [was] like [the] height of cedars height his and [is] strong he like oaks and I destroyed fruit his above and roots his beneath.

10 Det var eg som dykk førde frå Egyptarland og dykk leidde i villmarki fram gjenom fyrti år til å vinna Amorit-landet.

And I I brought up you from [the] land of Egypt and I led you in the wilderness forty year[s] to take possession of [the] land of the Amorite[s].

11 Eg vekte profetar av dykkar søner, naziræarar bland dykkar ungdomar. Er det’kje so, de Israels-born? Segjer Herren.

And I raised up some of sons your to prophets and some of young men your to Nazirites ¿ also not [is] this O people of Israel [the] utterance of Yahweh.

12 Men de gav naziræaran’ vin, og baud profetarn’ og sagde: «Profetera ikkje!»

And you made drink the Nazirites wine and to the prophets you commanded saying not you must prophesy.

13 Sjå no skal eg lata det dynja under dykk som under ei full-lest kornvogn.

Here! I [am] about to make totter under you just as it totters the cart full itself cut grain.

14 Og den rappe kjem ingen stad av, og den sterke fær’kje bruka si magt, og kjempa skal’kje berga sitt liv.

And it will be lost a place of escape from a swift [person] and a strong [person] not he will make firm power his and a mighty [person] not he will save life his.

15 Mannen med bogen er magtlaus, og lett på fot kann’kje berga seg, og mannen på hest skal’kje berga sitt liv.

And [the] handler of the bow not he will stand and a [person] swift on feet his not he will save and [the] rider of the horse not he will save life his.

16 Hugdjervaste kjempa ho lyt naken røma på dagen den, segjer Herren.

And [the] [person] strong of heart his among the warriors naked he will flee on the day that [the] utterance of Yahweh.
