2 Tessalonikerne 2
1 Me bed dykk, brør, vedkomande vår Herre Jesu Kristi tilkoma og vår sameining med honom,
And we ask you, brothers, in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together to Him,
2 at de ikkje so snart må lata dykk villa burt frå vitet eller skræma, korkje ved nokor ånd eller ved nokon tale eller ved noko brev, liksom det skulde vera frå oss, som um Herrens dag alt stod for døri.
that you are not quickly shaken in mind, nor be troubled, neither through spirit, neither through word, neither through letters as through us, as that the Day of the LORD has arrived;
3 Lat ingen dåra dykk på nokon måte! for fyrst lyt fråfallet koma og syndmenneskjet verta openberra, fortapingssonen,
do not let anyone deceive you in any way, because if the departure may not come first, the man of lawlessness may [not] be revealed—the son of destruction,
4 han som set seg imot og upphøgjer seg yver alt som heiter Gud eller heilagdom, so han set seg i Guds tempel og gjev seg sjølv ut for å vera Gud.
who is opposing and is raising himself up above all called god or worshiped, so as for him to have sat down in the temple of God, proclaiming that he is God.
5 Minnest de ikkje at eg sagde dykk dette medan eg endå var hjå dykk?
Do you not remember that, yet being with you, I said these things to you?
6 Og no veit de kva som held att, so han fyrst skal verta openberra i si tid.
And now, you have known what is restraining, for his being revealed in his own time,
7 For løyndomen i lovløysa er alt verksam, berre at den som no held att, vert rudd undan;
for the secret of lawlessness already works, only the [One] now restraining [will do so] until He may come out of [the] midst,
8 og då skal den lovlause verta openberra, han som Herren Jesus skal tyna med sin munns ande og gjera til inkjes ved openberringi i si tilkoma.
and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the LORD will consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and will nullify at the appearance of His coming,
9 Og hans tilkoma gjeng fyre seg etter Satans kraftige verknad med all kraft og teikn og under av lygni,
whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power, and signs, and lying wonders,
10 og med all dåring av urettferdi for deim som vert fortapte, av di dei ikkje tok imot kjærleik til sanningi, so dei kunde verta frelste.
and in all deceitfulness of the unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth for their being saved,
11 Og difor sender Gud deim kraftig villfaring, so dei trur lygni,
and because of this God will send to them a working of delusion, for their believing the lie,
12 so alle dei skal verta dømde, som ikkje hev havt tru til sanningi, men havt hugnad i urettferdi.
that they may be judged—all who did not believe the truth, but were well pleased in the unrighteousness.
13 Men me er skuldige til å takka Gud alltid for dykk, brør, som er elska av Herren, for di Gud frå upphavet tok dykk ut til frelsa ved helging av Anden og tru på sanningi,
And we ought to give thanks to God always for you, brothers, beloved by the LORD, that God chose you from the beginning to salvation, in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth,
14 som han kalla dykk til ved vårt evangelium, til å vinna vår Herre Jesu Kristi herlegdom.
to which He called you through our good news, to the acquiring of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ;
15 Difor, brør, stat traust og hald fast ved dei lærdomar som de hev lært anten ved vår tale eller ved brev frå oss!
so, then, brothers, stand fast, and hold the traditions that you were taught, whether through word, whether through our letter;
16 Men han vår Herre Jesus Kristus, og Gud, vår Fader, som elska oss og gav oss ei æveleg trøyst og ei god von i nåde, (aiōnios g166)
and may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who loved us, and gave continuous comfort, and good hope in grace, (aiōnios g166)
17 han trøyste dykkar hjarto og styrkje dykk i all god gjerning og tale!
comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
