2 Krønikebok 31
1 Då dei no alt dette var slutt, drog alle dei israelitarne som var til stades ut til byarne i Juda og braut sund minnesteinarne, hogg ned Astarte-bilæti og reiv ned offerhaugarne og altari i heile Juda og Benjamin, og i Efraim og Manasse, til dei reint hadde gjort ende på deim. When all this had finished, the Israelites who were there went to the towns of Judah and smashed the pagan pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and destroyed the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had completely demolished all of them. After that they all went home to their respective towns.
2 So skipa Hizkia preste- og levitskifti, etter som dei høyrde til i det eine eller det andre skiftet, so at kvar og ein av prestarne og levitarne fekk si tenesta med brennofferi og takkoffer, å gjera tenesta med pris og lov i portarne til Herrens læger.
Then Hezekiah reallocated the divisions of the priests and Levites, each according to their service: presenting burnt offerings and friendship offerings, serving, giving thanks, and singing praises at the entrances of the Lord's Temple.
3 Det som kongen gav av eiga si, vart bruka til å greida brennofferi, morgon- og kvelds-brennofferi og brennofferi på kviledagarne, nymånedagarne og høgtiderne, soleis som skrive stend i Herrens lov.
The king contributed personally towards the morning and evening burnt offerings, and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, new moons, and special feasts, as required by the Law of the Lord.

He also ordered the people living in Jerusalem to provide for the priests and Levites so that they could dedicate themselves to studying and teaching the Law of the Lord.
5 So snart dette vart kjent, kom Israels-sønerne med rikleg mengd av fyrstegrøda av korn, druvesaft, olje og honning og alt det andre avgrødet på marki, og sameleis tiend av alt i rikeleg mengd.
As soon as the message went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, olive oil, and honey, and of all the crops. They brought plenty, a tithe of everything.
6 Og dei israelitarne og Juda-mennerne som budde i Juda-byarne, kom og med tiend utav storfe og småfe, og dei kom med tiend av dei heilage gåvorne som var vigde til Herren, deira Gud, og lagde deim haug ved haug.
The people of Israel now living in Judah, and the people of Judah brought a tithe of their herds and flocks. They also brought a tithe of what had been dedicated to the Lord their God, and piled them up.

They started doing this in the third month, and they finished in the seventh month.

When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw what had been collected, they thanked the Lord and his people Israel.

Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about what had been collected.
10 svara øvstepresten Azarja av Sadoks hus honom: «Sidan dei tok til å føra offergåva til Herrens hus, hev me ete oss mette og leivt mykje att, for Herren hev velsigna folket sitt, so me hev fenge leivt all denne rikdomen.»
Azariah, the chief priest of the family of Zadok, answered, “Ever since the people began to bring their contributions into the Lord's Temple, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare. Because the Lord has blessed his people there is so much left over.”
11 Hizkia gav då det bodet at dei skulde laga til buder i Herrens hus; og då dei hadde laga slike,
Hezekiah ordered the construction of storehouses in the Lord's Temple. Once they were ready,
12 førde dei inn der avgrødet, tiendi og heilaggåvorne, alt på tru og æra. Tilsynet med dette vart gjeve til leviten Konanja og næmast under honom Sime’i, bror hans.
the people faithfully brought in their offerings, tithes, and dedicated gifts. Conaniah the Levite was the one who was responsible for them, and his brother Shimei was second in command.
13 Og Jehiel, Azazja, Nahat, Asael, Jerimot, Jozabad, Eliel, Jismakja, Mahat og Benaja var tilsynsmenner jamsides med Konanja og Sime’i, bror hans, etter påbodet kong Hizkia og Azazja, den øvste i Guds hus.
They were in charge of the following officers: Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers who assisted Conaniah and Shimei his brother. They were appointed by King Hezekiah and Azariah, the chief officer of God's Temple.
14 Leviten Kore Jimnason, som var dørvaktar på øystre sida, hadde tilsyn med dei friviljuge gåvorne til Gud, og skulde skifta ut Herrens offergåvor og dei høgheilage gåvorne.
Kore, son of Imnah, the Levite, the gatekeeper of the East Gate, was responsible for receiving the freewill offerings given to God. He also distributed the offerings given to the Lord, together with the consecrated gifts.
15 Under honmom vart sett Eden, Minjamin, Jesua, Semaja, Amarja og Sekanja; dei skulde vera i prestebyarne og skifta ut på tru og æra til brørne sine, både til store og små, etter dei skifti dei høyrde til,
Under him were his assistants Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah. They faithfully made the allocations to their fellow Levites in their towns, according to the priestly divisions, sharing equally with the old and young.
16 Her var frårekna dei av mannkyn som var ifrå tri år og uppetter, og som kom til Herrens hus etter som torvi var frå dag til dag og gjorde arbeidet sitt etter som tenesta deira var etter dei skifti dei høyrde til.
They also gave allowances to the males listed in the genealogy who were three years of age or older, to all who would enter the Lord's Temple to perform their daily duties of serving according to the responsibilities of their divisions.

They also gave allowances to the priests listed by family in the genealogy, and to the Levites twenty years of age or older, according to the responsibilities of their divisions.
18 Det vart gjort soleis at dei vart upptekne med alle småborni sine, konorne, sønerne og døtterne sine, so mange dei var; for på tru og æra skulde dei styra med dei heilage tingi.
The genealogy included all the babies, wives, sons, and daughters of the whole community, for they were faithful in making sure they dedicated themselves as holy.
19 For bymarkarne åt Arons-sønerne, prestarne, var det nokre namngjevne menner i kvar by som skifte til kvar karmann millom prestarne og deim utav levitarne som var upptekne i listorne, det som dei hadde rett til.
In the case of the priests, the descendants of Aaron, those who lived on the farmlands around their towns, men were appointed by name in all the towns to distribute an allocation to every male among the priests and to every Levite as listed in the genealogies.
20 Soleis gjorde Hizkia i heile Juda, og han gjorde det som godt og rett og sant var for Herren, sin Guds åsyn.
This is what Hezekiah did throughout the whole of Judah. He did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.
21 Alle dei verki som han tok seg fyre i tenesta for Guds hus, i lovi og i bodet med det fyremål å søkja sin Gud, alle dei gjorde han av heile sitt hjarta, og han hadde lukka med seg.
In everything he did in working for God's Temple and in following God's laws and commandments, Hezekiah was sincere in his commitment to God. So he was successful in all he did.
