2 Krønikebok 11
1 Då Rehabeam kom til Jerusalem, samla han heile Judas hus og Benjamin, hundrad og åtteti tusund utvalde stridsmenner, og vilde strida imot Israel og vinna kongedømet att for Rehabeam.
And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
2 Men då kom Herrens ord til gudsmannen Semaja soleis:
But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 «Seg til Rehabeam Salomoson, kongen i Juda, og til heile Israel i Juda og Benjamin:
Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
4 «So segjer Herren: De skal ikkje fara upp og strida imot brørne dykkar; snu heim att kvar til sitt hus! For det som er hendt, er kome frå meg!»» Då lydde dei ordi frå Herren og snudde heim at og drog ikkje imot Jeroboam.
Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
5 Sidan budde Rehabeam i Jerusalem, og han bygde byar um til borger i Juda.
And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
6 Soleis bygde han Betlehem og Etam og Tekoa
Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
7 og Bet-Sur og Soko og Adullam
And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
8 og Gat og Maresa og Zif
And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
9 og Adorajim og Lakis og Azeka
And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
10 og Sora og Ajjalon og Hebron, som låg i Juda og i Benjamin. Han gjorde deim til festningsbyar.
And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
11 Og han gjorde borgerne sterke og sette hovdingar i deim, og gav deim forråd av matvaror og olje og vin.
And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
12 Og kvar einskild av deim gav han skjoldar og spjot, og soleis gjorde han deim overlag sterke. Juda og Benjamin lydde honom.
And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
13 Men prestarne og levitarne i heile Israel gjekk yver til honom frå alle bygderne.
And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
14 For levitarne drog ifrå bumarkerne og eigedomen sin og for til Juda og Jerusalem, for di Jeroboam og sønerne hans jaga deim ut or prestetenesta for Herren,
For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
15 og han tilsette prestar åt seg for offerhaugarne og bukketrolli og kalvarne som han hadde late gjera.
And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
16 Og i fylgje med deim kom dei frå alle Israels ættar som lagde hugen sin på å søkja Herren, Israels Gud. Dei kom til Jerusalem og ofra til Herren, sin fedregud.
And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
17 Dei styrkte Judariket og tryggja Rehabeam, son åt Salomo i tri år. For i tri år gjekk dei på vegen åt David og Salomo.
So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
18 Rehabeam tok til kona Mahalat, dotter åt Jerimot, son åt David, og åt Abiha’il, dotter åt Eliab, Isais son.
And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
19 Ho fødde honom sønerne Je’us og Semarja og Zaham.
Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
20 Og etter henne tok han Ma’aka, dotter åt Absalom, til kona; og ho fødde honom Abia og Attai og Ziza og Selomit.
And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Rehabeam elska Ma’aka, dotter åt Absalom, meir enn dei andre konorne og fylgjekonorne sine; for han hadde attan konor og seksti fylgjekonor og vart far til åtte og tjuge søner og seksti døtter.
And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
22 Difor sette han Abia, son åt Ma’aka, til hovding og fyrste millom brørne sine; for han var tenkt på å gjera honom til konge.
And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
23 Og på visleg måte skifte han ut alle landsluterne og dei faste borgerne i Juda og Benjamin til alle sønerne sine, og gav deim flust til å leva av og fekk deim konor i mengd.
And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
