2 Krønikebok 10
1 Rehabeam for til Sikem, for heile Israel var kome til Sikem og vilde taka honom til konge.
And he went Rehoboam Shechem towards for Shechem they had come all Israel to make king him.
2 Men då Jeroboam Nebatsson frette det - han var i Egyptarland og hadde rømt dit for kong Salomo - då snudde han heim att frå Egyptarland.
And it was when heard Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat and he [was] in Egypt where he had fled from before Solomon the king and he returned Jeroboam from Egypt.
3 Då sende dei bod og kalla honom; og Jeroboam og heile Israel kom. Og dei sagde til Rehabeam:
And people sent and they summoned him and he came Jeroboam and all Israel and they spoke to Rehoboam saying.
4 «Far lagde på oss eit hardt ok; men vil no du letta på det harde strævet og det tunge oket som far din lagde på oss, so skal me tena deg.»
Father your he made hard yoke our and therefore lighten some of [the] labor of father your hard and some of yoke his heavy which he put on us and we will serve you.
5 Han svara deim: «Gakk burt og bia tri dagar, og kom so til meg att!» Og folket gjekk.
And he said to them again three days and return to me and it went the people.
6 Då rådførte kong Rehabeam seg med dei gamle, som hadde vore i tenesta hjå Salomo, far hans, medan han livde, og spurde deim: «Kva svar råder de til å gjeva dette folket?»
And he consulted the king Rehoboam with the elders who they had been standing before Solomon father his when was he alive saying how? [are] you counseling to bring back to the people this word.
7 Dei svara honom: «Vil du vera venleg mot dette folket i dag og syna deg nådig imot deim og gjeva deim eit venlegt svar, då vil dei vera dine tenarar for alle tider.»
And they spoke to him saying if you will become good to the people this and you will be favorable to them and you will speak to them words kind and they will be of you servants all the days.
8 Men han brydde seg ikkje um den rådi som dei gamle gav honom, men rådførde seg med dei unge som var uppvaksne i lag med honom og stod i hans tenesta.
And he abandoned [the] counsel of the elders which they had counseled him and he consulted with the youths who they had grown up with him who stood before him.
9 Han sagde til deim: «Kva råder de meg til å svara dette folket, som hev tala til meg og sagt: «Lat det oket som far din hev lagt på oss verta lettare?»»
And he said to them what? [are] you counseling and we may bring back word the people this who they have spoken to me saying lighten some of the yoke which he put father your on us.
10 Dei unge kararne som var uppvaksne i lag med honom, svara honom då og sagde: «So skal du segja til dette folket som hev tala til deg og sagt: «Far lagde eit tung ok på oss, men gjer no du det lettare for oss!» - so skal du segja til deim: «Litlefingeren min er tjukkare enn mjødmarne åt far min.
And they spoke with him the youths who they had grown up with him saying thus you will say to the people which they have spoken to you saying father your he made heavy yoke our and you lighten from on us thus you will say to them little finger my it is thick more than [the] loins of father my.
11 Hev difor far min lagt eit tungt ok på dykk, so skal eg gjera oket dykkar endå tyngre; hev far min tukta dykk med svipor, so skal eg tukta dykk med skorpionar!»»
And therefore father my he loaded on you a yoke heavy and I I will add to yoke your father my he disciplined you with whips and I with scorpions.
12 So kom Jeroboam med heile folket til Rehabeam tridje dagen, so som kongen hadde sagt: «Kom til meg att tridje dagen!»
And he came Jeroboam and all the people to Rehoboam on the day third just as he had spoken the king saying return to me on the day third.
13 Då gav kongen folket eit hardt svar, for han brydde seg ikkje um den rådi dei gamle hadde gjeve honom;
And he answered them the king hard and he abandoned the king Rehoboam [the] counsel of the elders.
14 etter rådi åt dei unge kararne sagde han til deim: «Hev far min lagt eit tungt åk på dykk, so skal eg gjera det endå tyngre; hev far min tukta dykk med svipor, so skal eg tukta dykk med skorpionar!»
And he spoke to them according to [the] counsel of the young men saying I will make heavy yoke your and I I will add to it father my he disciplined you with whips and I with scorpions.
15 Kongen høyrde soleis ikkje på folket, for di Gud laga det soleis, so Herrens ord skulde sannast som han hadde tala til Jeroboam Nebatsson ved siloniten Ahia.
And not he listened the king to the people for it was a turn from with God so as to establish Yahweh word his which he had spoken by [the] hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat.
16 Då no heile Israel såg at kongen ikkje høyrde på deim, gav folket kongen dette svaret: «Kva deil hev me i David? Ingen lut i Isaisonen! Heim att, Israel, kvar til si hytta! Sjå no sjølv til huset ditt, David!» So gjekk heile Israel kvar til sitt.
And all Israel that not he had listened the king to them and they brought back the people the king - saying what? [belongs] to us portion in David and not an inheritance in [the] son of Jesse everyone to tents your O Israel now consider own house your O David and it went all Israel to tents its.
17 Berre yver dei Israels-borni som budde i byarne i Juda, vart Rehabeam konge.
And [the] people of Israel who were dwelling in [the] cities of Judah and he reigned over them Rehoboam.
18 Og då kong Rehabeam sende i veg Hadoram, som hadde øvste tilsynet med pliktarbeidet til deim, då steina Israels-sønerne honom i hel. Då skunda kong Rehabeam seg upp i vogni si og rømde til Jerusalem.
And he sent the king Rehoboam Hadoram who [was] over the forced labor and they stoned him [the] people of Israel stone[s] and he died and the king Rehoboam he proved himself strong to go up in the chariot to flee Jerusalem.
19 So reiv då Israel seg laus frå Davids hus, og soleis hev det vore til den dag i dag.
And they have rebelled Israel against [the] house of David until the day this.
