1 Tessalonikerne 3

1 Difor, då me ikkje lenger kunde halda det ut, rådde me oss til å verta åleine att i Aten,

And because we could not endure, we were willing to be left at Athinos alone,

2 og me sende Timoteus, vår bror og Guds tenar i Kristi evangelium, til å styrkja dykk og påminna dykk um dykkar tru,

and to send to you Timotheos our brother, a minister of Aloha and our helper in the gospel of the Meshiha, to fortify you, and inquire of you concerning your faith,

3 at ikkje nokon skulde verta ustød i desse trengslor. De veit sjølve at me er sette til det;

that none of you should be slain through these afflictions; for you know that to this we are set.

4 for då me var hjå dykk, sagde me dykk fyreåt at me skulde lida trengslor, so som det og gjekk, og som de veit.

For while also we were with you, we foretold you that we were to be afflicted, as you know that it hath been.

5 Difor sende eg og bod, då eg ikkje lenger kunde halda det ut, so eg kunde få vita um dykkar tru, um freistaren skulde ha freista dykk, og vårt arbeid skulde verta til unyttes.

On account of this also, I, not enduring until I had sent to know your faith, lest the tempter should tempt you, and we should have laboured in vain;

6 Men no, då Timoteus er komen til oss frå dykk og hev bore oss godt bod um dykkar tru og kjærleik, og at de alltid hev oss i venlegt minne og lengtar etter å sjå oss, liksom me etter dykk,

but now when Timotheos came to us from among you, and gave us intelligence of your faith and of your love, and that you have a good remembrance of us in every season, and desire to see us as we also (to see) you;

7 so er me dermed trøysta yver dykk, brør, i all vår trengsla og naud, ved dykkar tru.

on this account we were comforted in you, my brethren, in all our anxieties and our afflictions because of your faith.

8 For no liver me, so framt de stend faste i Herren.

And now we live, if you are established in our Lord.

9 For kva takk kann me gjeva Gud att for dykk, for all den gleda som me kjenner yver dykk for vår Guds åsyn,

For what thanks giving can we render on account of you to Aloha, over all the joy with which we rejoice on your behalf,

10 medan me natt og dag naudbed um å få sjå dykkar åsyn og bøta på det som endå vantar i dykkar tru?

unless before Aloha we supplicate exceedingly by night and by day to see your faces, and to perfect what is wanting to your faith?

11 Men han, vår Gud og Fader, og vår Herre Jesus styre vår veg til dykk!

But Aloha himself, the Father of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, will make straight our way to you,

12 Og dykk gjere Herren fullrådde og ovrike på kjærleik til kvarandre og til alle, liksom me er det mot dykk,

and he will cause your love to increase to one another, and to every man, even as we love you;

13 for at han kann styrkja hjarto dykkar, so de vert ulastelege i heilagdom for vår Gud og Faders åsyn, når vår Herre Jesus kjem med alle sine heilage!

and will establish your hearts without blame in holiness, before Aloha our Father, at the advent of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha with all his saints.
