1 Og Arons-sønerne var skipa i desse skifti: Sønerne åt Aron var Nadab og Abihu, Eleazar og Itamar.
These are also the diuisions of the sonnes of Aaron: The sonnes of Aaron were Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 Men Nadab og Abihu døydde fyre faren, og dei hadde ingi søner, og berre Eleazar og Itamar vart prestar.
But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the Priestes office.
3 Og David i lag med Sadok av sønerne åt Eleazar og Ahimelek av sønerne åt Itamar, skifte deim etter deira embætte i tenesta deira.
And Dauid distributed them, euen Zadok of the sonnes of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sonnes of Ithamar according to their offices in their ministration.
4 Dei kom då etter med at det var fleire hovdingar av Eleazars-sønerne enn Itamars-sønerne, og difor skipa dei det so at Eleazars-sønerne fekk sekstan hovdingar for sine ættgreiner, og Itamars-sønerne åtte for sine ættgreiner.
And there were found more of the sonnes of Eleazar by the number of men, then of the sonnes of Ithamar. and they deuided them, to wit, among the sonnes of Eleazar, sixteene heads, according to the houshould of their fathers, and among ye sonnes of Ithamar, according to the housholde of their fathers, eight.
5 Og dei skifte deim med strådraging, båe hovudgreinerne; for heilagdoms-fyrstarne og gudsfyrstarne tok dei både av Eleazars-sønerne og Itamars-sønerne.
Thus they distributed them by lot the one from the other, and so the rulers of the Sanctuarie and the rulers of the house of God were of the sonnes of Eleazar and of the sonnes of Ithamar.
6 Og Semaja Netanelsson, skrivaren av Levi-ætti, skreiv deim upp medan kongen og hovdingarne og presten Sadok og Ahimelek Abjatarsson og ættarhovdingarne for prestarne og levitarne såg på; dei tok ut ei ættgrein for Eleazar og so til skiftes for Itamar.
And Shemaiah the sonne of Nethaneel the scribe of the Leuites, wrote them before ye King and the princes, and Zadok the Priest, and Ahimelech the sonne of Abiathar, and before ye chiefe fathers of the Priests and of the Leuites, one familie being reserued for Eleazar, and another reserued for Ithamar.
7 Fyrste luten fall på Jojarib, den andre på Jedaja,
And the first lot fell to Iehoiarib, and the second to Iedaiah,
8 den tridje på Harim, den fjorde på Seorim,
The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 den femte på Malkia, den sette på Mijamin,
The fifth to Malchiiah, the sixt to Miiamin,
10 den sjuande på Hakkos, den åttande på Abia,
The seuenth to Hakkoz, the eight to Abiiah,
11 den niande på Jesua, den tiande på Sekanja,
The ninth to Ieshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 den ellevte på Eljasib, den tolvte på Jakim,
The eleuenth to Eliashib, the twelft to Iakim,
13 den trettande på Huppa, den fjortande på Jesebab,
The thirteenth to Huppa, the fouretenth to Ieshebeab,
14 den femtande på Bilga, den sekstande på Immer,
The fiftenth to Bilgah, the sixtenth to Immer,
15 den syttande på Hezir, den attande på Happisses,
The seuententh to Hezir, the eightenth to Happizzer,
16 den nittande på Petahja, den tjugande på Ezekiel,
The ninetenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Iehezekel,
17 den ein og tjugande på Jakin, den tvo og tjugande på Gamul,
The one and twentie to Iachin, the two and twentie to Gamul,
18 den tri og tjugande på Delaja og den fire og tjugande på Ma’azja.
The three and twentie to Deliah, the foure and twentie to Maaziah.
19 Dette vart den skipnaden som dei skulde gjera tenesta si etter, når dei gjekk inn i Herrens hus, so som det var fyresagt deim gjenom Aron, far deira, etter det som Herren, Israels Gud, hadde sagt honom fyre.
These were their orders according to their offices, when they entred into the house of the Lord according to their custome vnder the hande of Aaron their father, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded him.
20 Av dei andre Levi-sønerne høyrde Subael til Amrams-sønerne, og Jehdeja var av Subaels-sønerne.
And of the sonnes of Leui that remained of the sonnes of Amram, was Shubael, of the sonnes of Shubael, Iedeiah,

Of Rehabiah. euen of the sonnes of Rehabiah, the first Isshiiah,
22 av jisharitarne var det Selomot, og Jahat av Selomots-sønerne.
Of Izhari, Shelomoth, of the sonnes of Shelomoth, Iahath,
23 Og benajitar var Jeria, Amarja, den andre, Jahaziel, den tridje, og Jekamam, den fjorde.
And his sonnes Ieriah the first, Amariah the second, Iahaziel the thirde, and Iekameam the fourth,
24 Son hans Uzziel var Mika; av sønerne hans Mika var Samur.
The sonne of Vzziel was Michah, ye sonne of Michah was Shamir,
25 Jissia var bror åt Mika; av Jissia-sønerne var Zakarja.
The brother of Michah was Isshiiah, the sonne of Isshiiah, Zechariah,
26 Merari-sønerne var Mahli og Musi, søner åt Ja’azia hans son.
The sonnes of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi, the sonne of Iaaziiah was Beno,
27 Søner hans Merari gjenom Ja’azia, son hans, var både Soham, Zakkur og Ibri.
The sonnes of Merari of Iahaziah were Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur and Ibri.
28 Son åt Mahli var Eleazar; men han hadde ingi søner.
Of Mahli came Eleazar, which had no sonnes.
29 Av sønerne åt Kis var høyrde Jerahme’el,
Of Kish. the sonne of Kish was Ierahmeel,
30 og sønerne åt Musi var Mahli og Eder og Jerimot. Dette var levitsøner etter ættgreinerne deira.
And the sonnes of Mushi were Mahli, and Eder, and Ierimoth: these were sonnes of the Leuites after the houshold of their fathers.
31 Dei og dro strå liksom frendarne deira, Arons-sønerne, medan kong David og Sadok og Ahimelek og ættarhovdingarne for prestarne og levitarne var til stades, hovdingen for ætti likso vel som dei yngste frendarne deira.
And these also cast lots with their brethren the sonnes of Aaron before King Dauid, and Zadok and Ahimelech and the chiefe fathers of the Priests, and of the Leuites, euen the chiefe of the families against their yonger brethren.
