1 Krønikebok 16
1 Då dei hadde ført Guds kista inn, sette dei henne i tjeldet som David hadde sett upp åt henne; deretter bar dei fram brennoffer og takkoffer for Guds åsyn.
And they bring in the Ark of God, and set it up in the midst of the tent that David has stretched out for it, and they bring burnt-offerings and peace-offerings near before God;
2 Og då David hadde ofra brennofferet og takkofferet, velsigna han folket i Herrens namn.
and David ceases from offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, and blesses the people in the Name of YHWH,
3 Og til kvar og ein av alle israelitarne, både kar og kvinna, skifte han ut ein brødleiv, eit stykke kjøt og ei rosinkaka.
and gives a portion to every man of Israel, both man and woman: to each a cake of bread, and a measure of wine, and a grape-cake.
4 Og han sette sume levitar til å gjera tenesta framfor Herrens kista, at dei skulde prisa, takka og lova Herren, Israels Gud.
And he puts before the Ark of YHWH, those ministering from the Levites, even to make mention of, and to thank, and to give praise to YHWH, God of Israel:
5 Asaf var den fremste, og Zakarja næst etter honom, og so Je’iel, Semiramot, Jehiel og Mattitja, Eliab, Benaja, Obed-Edom og Je’iel med harpor og cithrar, og Asaf skulde slå på cymblar.
Asaph the head, and his second Zechariah; Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with instruments of psalteries, and with harps; and Asaph is sounding with cymbals;
6 Men prestarne Benaja og Jahaziel skulde standa stendigt med trompetarne sine framfor Guds sambandskista.
and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests [are] continually [sounding] with trumpets before the Ark of the Covenant of God.
7 Den dagen var det at David fyrst fastsette den skipnaden at dei ved Asaf og brørne hans skulde prisa Herren på denne visi:
On that day, at that time, David has given at the beginning to give thanks to YHWH by the hand of Asaph and his brothers:
8 «Prisa Herren, kalla på hans namn! Forkynn millom folkeslagi hans storverk!
“Give thanks to YHWH, call on His Name, Make His doings known among the peoples.
9 Syng for honom, syng honom lov! Tala um alle hans under!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him, Meditate on all His wonders.
10 Rosa dykk av hans heilage namn, hjarta glede seg hjå deim som søkjer Herren!
Boast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking YHWH rejoices.
11 Spør etter Herren og hans magt, søk hans åsyn alltid!
Seek YHWH and His strength, Seek His face continually.
12 Kom i hug hans under som han hev gjort, hans undergjerningar og domsordi frå hans munn,
Remember His wonders that He did, His signs, and the judgments of His mouth,
13 de etterkomarar av Israel, hans tenar, søner åt Jakob, hans utvalde.
O seed of Israel, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14 Han er Herren, vår Gud; yver all jordi gjeng hans domar.
He [is] our God YHWH, His judgments [are] in all the earth.
15 Kom æveleg i hug hans pakt, det ord han sette fast for tusund ætter,
Remember His covenant for all time, The word He commanded—To one thousand generations,
16 den pakt han gjorde med Abraham, og hans eid til Isak!
Which He has made with Abraham, And His oath—to Isaac,
17 Han gjorde det til ein rett for Jakob, for Israel til ein æveleg pakt,
And He establishes it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel [for] a perpetual covenant,
18 med di han sagde: «Deg vil eg gjeva Kana’ans land til arvlut, »
Saying, To you I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,
19 då de var ein liten flokk, få og framande der.
When you were few in number, As a little thing, and sojourners in it.
20 Og dei vandra frå folk til folk, frå eitt rike til eit anna folk.
And they go up and down, From nation to nation, And from a kingdom to another people.
21 Han let ikkje nokon få gjera valdsverk mot deim, og han refste kongar for deira skuld:
He has not permitted any to oppress them, And reproves kings on their account:
22 «Rør ikkje deim eg hev salva, og gjer ikkje vondt med mine profetar!»
Do not come against My anointed ones, And do no evil against My prophets.
23 Syng for Herren, all jordi! Forkynn frå dag til dag hans frelsa!
Sing to YHWH, all the earth, Proclaim His salvation from day to day.
24 Fortel millom heidningar hans æra, millom alle folkeslag hans under!
Recount His glory among nations, His wonders among all the peoples.
25 For Herren er stor og mykje lovsungen, og skræmeleg er han framfor alle gudar.
For great [is] YHWH, and greatly praised, And He [is] fearful above all gods.
26 For alle gudar hjå folki er avgudar; men Herren hev gjort himmelen.
For all gods of the peoples [are] nothing, And YHWH has made the heavens.
27 Høgd og herlegdom er for hans åsyn, styrke og gleda er på hans stad.
Splendor and majesty [are] before Him, Strength and joy [are] in His place.
28 Gjev Herren, de folkeætter, gjev Herren æra og magt!
Ascribe to YHWH, you families of peoples, Ascribe to YHWH glory and strength.
29 Gjev Herren hans namns æra, tak gåvor med og kom for hans åsyn, tilbed Herren i heilagt skrud!
Ascribe to YHWH the glory of His Name, Lift up a present, and come before Him. Bow yourselves to YHWH, In the beauty of holiness.
30 Skjelv for hans åsyn, all jordi! Jordriket stend fast; det let seg ikkje rikka.
Be pained before Him, all the earth; Also, the world is established, It is not moved!
31 Himmelen glede seg, og jordi fagne seg, og dei skal segja millom heidningarne: «Herren er konge.»
The heavens rejoice, and the earth is glad, And they say among nations, YHWH has reigned!
32 Havet dure og alt som i det er! Marki frygde seg og alt det som på marki er!
The sea roars, and its fullness, The field exults, and all that [is] in it,
33 Då fegnast trei i skogen for Herrens åsyn; for han kjem og skal døma jordi.
Then trees of the forest sing, From the presence of YHWH, For He has come to judge the earth!
34 Prisa Herren, for han er god, for æveleg varer hans miskunn!
Give thanks to YHWH, for [He is] good, For His kindness [is] for all time,
35 Og seg: «Frels oss, du vår Frelse-Gud, og samla oss og fria oss ut frå heidningarne, so me kann prisa ditt heilage namn, rosa oss av ditt lov!»
And say, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us, and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Your Holy Name, To triumph in Your praise.
36 Lova vere Herren, Israels Gud, frå æva og til æva!» Og alt folket sagde amen og lova Herren.
Blessed [is] YHWH, God of Israel, From age to age”; And all the people say, “Amen,” and have given praise to YHWH.
37 Og der, framfor Herrens sambandskista, gav han Asaf og brørne hans det yrket, at dei stendigt skulde gjera tenesta framfor kista, soleis som det var fastsett for kvar dag.
And he leaves there [those] of Asaph and of his brothers, before the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH, to minister before the Ark continually, according to the matter of a day in its day;
38 Men Obed-Edom og brørne deira var åtte og seksti i tal, og Obed-Edom Jeditunsson og Hosa sette han til dørvaktarar.
both Obed-Edom and their sixty-eight brothers, and Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, for gatekeepers;
39 Og pesten Sadok og brørne hans, prestarne, sette han framfor Herrens hus på offerhaugen i Gibeon,
and Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, before the Dwelling Place of YHWH, in a high place that [is] in Gibeon,
40 at dei stendigt skulde ofra åt Herren brennoffer på brennofferaltaret, morgon og kveld, og gjera alt det som var fyresagt i Herrens lov, som han hadde sett for Israel.
to cause burnt-offerings to ascend continually to YHWH on the altar of burnt-offering, morning and evening, and for all that is written in the Law of YHWH that He charged on Israel.
41 Og i lag med deim var Heman og Jedutun og dei andre utvalde som var nemnde, at dei skulde lova Herren, av di hans miskunn varer æveleg.
And with them [are] Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest of those chosen, who were defined by name, to give thanks to YHWH, for His kindness [is] for all time;
42 Og trompetarne og cymblarne åt spelemennerne vart gøymde hjå Heman og Jedutun, og like eins andre spelgogner som høyrde gudstenesta til. Og Jedutuns-sønerne gjorde han til dørvaktarar.
and with them—Heman and Jeduthun—[are] trumpets and cymbals for those sounding, and instruments of the song of God, and the sons of Jeduthun [are] at the gate.
43 Deretter gjekk heile lyden heim, kvar til sitt; men David snudde heim att, vilde helsa på husfolket sitt.
And all the people go, each to his house, and David turns around to bless his house.
