1 Syng for Herren en ny sang, syng for Herren, all jorden!
O sing to Jehovah a new song. Sing to Jehovah, all the earth.
2 Syng for Herren, lov hans navn, forkynn fra dag til dag hans frelse!
Sing to Jehovah, bless his name. Show forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Fortell blandt hedningene hans ære, blandt alle folkene hans undergjerninger!
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.
4 For stor er Herren og høilovet, forferdelig er han over alle guder.
For great is Jehovah, and greatly to be praised. He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For alle folkenes guder er intet; men Herren har gjort himmelen.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Jehovah made the heavens.
6 Høihet og herlighet er for hans åsyn, styrke og prydelse er i hans helligdom.
Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Gi Herren, I folkeslekter, gi Herren ære og makt!
Ascribe to Jehovah, ye kindred of the peoples. Ascribe to Jehovah glory and strength.
8 Gi Herren hans navns ære, bær frem gaver og kom til hans forgårder!
Ascribe to Jehovah the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 Tilbed Herren i hellig prydelse, bev for hans åsyn, all jorden!
O worship Jehovah in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Si blandt hedningene: Herren er blitt konge, og jorderike står fast, det rokkes ikke; han dømmer folkene med rettvishet.
Say among the nations, Jehovah reigns! The world also is established that it cannot be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 Himmelen glede sig, og jorden fryde sig, havet bruse og alt det som fyller det!
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
12 Marken fryde sig og alt det som er på den! Da jubler alle trær i skogen
Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the wood shall sing for joy
13 for Herrens åsyn; for han kommer, han kommer for å dømme jorden; han skal dømme jorderike i rettferdighet og folkene i sin trofasthet.
before Jehovah, for he comes. For he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.
