Josvas 5
1 Da nu alle amoritter-kongene som bodde på vestsiden av Jordan, og alle kana'anitter-kongene som bodde ved havet, hørte at Herren hadde latt Jordans vann tørke bort foran Israels barn inntil vi var kommet over, da blev deres hjerte fullt av angst, og de hadde ikke lenger mot til å møte Israels barn.
And it was when heard all [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan west-ward and all [the] kings of the Canaanite[s] who [were] at the sea [they heard] this: he had dried up Yahweh [the] waters of the Jordan from before [the] people of Israel until (passing over they *Q(K)*) and it melted heart their and not it was in them still spirit because of [the] people of Israel.
2 På denne tid sa Herren til Josva: Gjør dig stenkniver og omskjær atter Israels barn, for annen gang!
At the time that he said Yahweh to Joshua make for yourself knives of flint and return circumcise [the] people of Israel a second [time].
3 Da gjorde Josva sig stenkniver og omskar Israels barn ved Ha'aralot-haugen.
And he made for himself Joshua knives of flint and he circumcised [the] people of Israel to [the] hill of foreskins.
4 Grunnen til at Josva omskar dem, var denne: Alt det folk som drog ut av Egypten - alle mennene, alle krigsfolkene - var død i ørkenen på veien fra Egypten.
And this [is] the reason why he circumcised Joshua all the people which had come out from Egypt the males all - [the] men of war they had died in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt.
5 Alt det folk som drog ut, var omskåret; men alt det folk som var født i ørkenen på veien fra Egypten, var ikke blitt omskåret.
For circumcised they had been all the people which came out and all the people born in the wilderness on the way when went out they from Egypt not people had circumcised.
6 For i firti år vandret Israels barn i ørkenen, inntil alt folket - krigsfolkene som drog ut av Egypten - var utdød; de hørte ikke på Herrens røst, derfor svor Herren at han ikke vilde la dem se det land Herren hadde tilsvoret deres fedre å ville gi oss, et land som flyter med melk og honning.
For - forty year[s] they had walked [the] people of Israel in the wilderness until was finished all the nation [the] men of war who came out from Egypt who not they had listened to [the] voice of Yahweh whom he had sworn Yahweh to them to not to let to see them the land which he had sworn Yahweh to fathers their to give to us a land flowing of milk and honey.
7 Men deres barn, som han hadde latt vokse op i deres sted, dem omskar Josva; for de hadde forhud, da de ikke var blitt omskåret på veien.
And children their he raised up in place of them them he circumcised Joshua for uncircumcised they were for not people had circumcised them on the way.
8 Da hele folket således var blitt omskåret, holdt de sig i ro der hvor de var i leiren, til de blev friske igjen.
And it was just when they had finished all the nation to be circumcised and they remained in place their in the camp until lived they.
9 Og Herren sa til Josva: Idag har jeg veltet av eder skammen fra Egypten. Siden har dette sted vært kalt Gilgal like til denne dag.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua this day I have rolled away [the] reproach of Egypt from on you and he called [the] name of the place that Gilgal until the day this.
10 Mens Israels barn lå i leir ved Gilgal, holdt de påske den fjortende dag i måneden om aftenen på Jerikos ødemarker.
And they encamped [the] people of Israel at Gilgal and they observed the passover on [the] four-teen day of the month in the evening on [the] plains of Jericho.
11 Og dagen efter påsken åt de av landets grøde; usyret brød og ristet korn åt de den dag.
And they ate some of [the] produce of the land from [the] next day of the passover unleavened bread and roasted [grain] on [the] substance of the day this.
12 Og mannaen hørte op dagen efter, for nu åt de av landets grøde; Israels barn fikk ikke mere manna, men de åt det år av det som var avlet i Kana'ans land.
And it ceased the manna from [the] next day when ate they some of [the] produce of the land and not it belonged again to [the] people of Israel manna and they ate some of [the] produce of [the] land of Canaan in the year that.
13 Mens Josva var ved Jeriko, hendte det at han løftet op sine øine og fikk se en mann som stod foran ham med et draget sverd i sin hånd; og Josva gikk bort til ham og sa: Hører du til oss eller til våre fiender?
And it was when was Joshua at Jericho and he lifted up eyes his and he saw and there! a man [was] standing to before him and sword his [was] drawn in hand his and he went Joshua to him and he said to him ¿ for us [are] you or? for foes our.
14 Han svarte: Nei, jeg er høvdingen over Herrens hær; nu er jeg kommet. Da falt Josva på sitt ansikt til jorden og tilbad og sa til ham: Hvad har min herre å si til sin tjener?
And he said - In-deed I [am] [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh now I have come and he fell Joshua to face his [the] ground towards and he bowed down and he said to him what? [is] lord my saying servant his.
15 Og høvdingen over Herrens hær sa til Josva: Dra skoen av din fot! For det sted du står på, er hellig. Og Josva gjorde så.
And he said [the] commander of [the] army of Yahweh to Joshua take off sandal your from on foot your for the place which you [are] standing on it [is] a holy place it and he did Joshua thus.
