Josvas 10
1 Da Adoni-Sedek, kongen i Jerusalem, fikk høre at Josva hadde inntatt Ai og slått det med bann og gjort likedan med Ai og kongen der som han hadde gjort med Jeriko og dets konge, og at innbyggerne av Gibeon hadde gjort fred med Israel og bodde midt iblandt dem,
And it was when heard Adoni-Zedek [the] king of Jerusalem that he had captured Joshua Ai and he had totally destroyed it just as he had done to Jericho and to king its so he had done to Ai and to king its and that they had made peace [the] inhabitants of Gibeon with Israel and they were in midst their.
2 blev de meget redde; for Gibeon var en stor by, som en av kongebyene, og større enn Ai, og alle mennene der var djerve stridsmenn.
And they were afraid very for [was] a city great Gibeon like one of [the] cities of royalty and for it [was] great more than Ai and all men its [were] warriors.
3 Så sendte Adoni-Sedek, kongen i Jerusalem, bud til Hoham, kongen i Hebron, og til Piream, kongen i Jarmut, og til Jafia, kongen i Lakis, og til Debir, kongen i Eglon, og lot si:
And he sent Adoni-Zedek [the] king of Jerusalem to Hoham [the] king of Hebron and to Piram [the] king of Jarmuth and to Japhia [the] king of Lachish and to Debir [the] king of Eglon saying.
4 Kom op til mig og hjelp mig, sa vi kan slå Gibeon! For de har gjort fred med Josva og Israels barn.
Come up to me and help me so we may attack Gibeon for it has made peace with Joshua and with [the] people of Israel.
5 Og de fem amorittiske konger, kongen i Jerusalem, kongen i Hebron, kongen i Jarmut, kongen i Lakis, kongen i Eglon, slo sig sammen og drog op med alle sine hærer; og de kringsatte Gibeon og stred mot det.
And they gathered and they went up [the] five - [the] kings of the Amorite[s] [the] king of Jerusalem [the] king of Hebron [the] king of Jarmuth [the] king of Lachish [the] king of Eglon they and all armies their and they encamped on Gibeon and they waged war on it.
6 Da sendte innbyggerne i Gibeon bud til Josva i leiren ved Gilgal og lot si: Slå ikke hånden av dine tjenere, kom op til oss så fort du kan, og berg oss og hjelp oss! For alle amoritter-kongene som bor i fjellbygdene, har slått sig sammen mot oss.
And they sent [the] men of Gibeon to Joshua to the camp Gilgal towards saying may not you let drop hands your from servants your come up to us quickly and save! us and help us for they have gathered together against us all [the] kings of the Amorite[s] [the] inhabitants of the hill country.
7 Så drog Josva op fra Gilgal med alt sitt krigsfolk og alle sine djerve stridsmenn.
And he went up Joshua from Gilgal he and all [the] people of war with him and all [the] mighty [men] of strength.
8 Og Herren sa til Josva: Vær ikke redd dem! Jeg har gitt dem i dine hender; ikke én av dem skal kunne stå sig mot dig.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua may not you be afraid from them for in hand your I have given them not he will make a stand anyone from them in face your.
9 Så kom Josva brått over dem; han brøt op fra Gilgal og marsjerte hele natten.
And he came to them Joshua suddenly all the night he had gone up from Gilgal.
10 Og Herren slo dem med redsel for Israel, og Josva påførte dem et stort mannefall ved Gibeon, og han forfulgte dem på veien op til Bet-Horon og hugg dem ned, helt til Aseka og Makkeda.
And he routed them Yahweh before Israel and he struck down them a defeat great at Gibeon and he pursued them [the] direction of [the] ascent of Beth Horon and he struck down them to Azekah and to Makkedah.
11 Som de nu flyktet for Israel og var på veien ned fra Bet-Horon, da lot Herren store stener falle ned over dem fra himmelen helt til Aseka, så de døde; det omkom flere ved haglstenene enn Israels barn slo ihjel med sverdet.
And it was when fled they - from before Israel they [were] at [the] descent of Beth Horon and Yahweh he threw on them stones large from the heavens to Azekah and they died [were] many [those] who they died by [the] stones of the hail more than [those] whom they killed [the] people of Israel with the sword.
12 Og Josva talte til Herren på den dag Herren gav amorittene i Israels barns vold, og han sa så hele Israel hørte det: Stå stille, sol, i Gibeon, og du måne, i Ajalons dal!
Then he spoke Joshua to Yahweh on [the] day delivered up Yahweh the Amorite[s] before [the] people of Israel and he said - to [the] eyes of Israel O sun at Gibeon be still and O moon in [the] valley Aijalon.
13 Og solen stod stille, og månen blev stående inntil folket hadde fått hevn over sine fiender. Således står det jo skrevet i Den rettskafnes bok - Solen blev stående midt på himmelen og drygde næsten en hel dag, før den gikk ned.
And it was still the sun and [the] moon it stood still until it avenged itself on [the] nation enemies its ¿ not [is] it written on [the] scroll of Jashar and it stood still the sun in [the] middle of the heavens and not it hastened to go about a day complete.
14 Og aldri har det vært nogen dag som denne, hverken før eller siden, da Herren hørte på en manns røst; for Herren stred for Israel.
And not it has been like the day that before it and after it to listen Yahweh to [the] voice of a man for Yahweh [was] fighting for Israel.
15 Sa vendte Josva med hele Israel tilbake til leiren ved Gilgal.
And he returned Joshua and all Israel with him to the camp Gilgal towards.
16 Men de fem konger flyktet og skjulte sig i hulen ved Makkeda.
And they fled [the] five the kings these and they hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah.
17 Da blev det meldt Josva: De fem konger er funnet; de hadde skjult sig i hulen ved Makkeda.
And it was told to Joshua saying they have been found [the] five the kings hidden in the cave at Makkedah.
18 Josva sa: Velt store stener for inngangen til hulen og sett folk der til å passe på dem!
And he said Joshua roll stones large into [the] mouth of the cave and appoint over it men to guard them.
19 Men selv må I ikke stanse; forfølg eders fiender og hugg ned deres baktropp, la dem ikke komme inn i sine byer! For Herren eders Gud har gitt dem i eders hånd.
And you may not you delay pursue after enemies your and you will attack in [the] rear them may not you permit them to go into cities their for he has given them Yahweh God your in hand your.
20 Da nu Josva og Israels barn hadde voldt et meget stort mannefall blandt dem og rent gjort ende på dem, så bare nogen få av dem kom sig unda og slapp inn i de faste byer,
And it was when finished Joshua and [the] people of Israel to strike down them a defeat great very until were finished they and the survivors they survived of them and they went into [the] cities of fortification.
21 da vendte hele folket i fred tilbake til Josva i leiren ved Makkeda, og ingen vågde mere å kny mot nogen av Israels barn.
And they returned all the people to the camp to Joshua Makkedah in peace not he sharpened to [the] people of Israel to anyone tongue his.
22 Da sa Josva: Åpne inngangen til hulen og før de fem konger ut til mig!
And he said Joshua open [the] mouth of the cave and bring out to me [the] five the kings these from the cave.
23 De gjorde således og førte de fem konger ut til ham fra hulen, kongen i Jerusalem, kongen i Hebron, kongen i Jarmut, kongen i Lakis, kongen i Eglon.
And they did thus and they brought out to him [the] five the kings these from the cave - [the] king of Jerusalem [the] king of Hebron [the] king of Jarmuth [the] king of Lachish [the] king of Eglon.
24 Og da de hadde ført disse konger ut til Josva, kalte Josva alle Israels menn til sig og sa til førerne for de stridsmenn som hadde draget med ham: Kom hit og sett foten på nakken av disse konger! Og de trådte frem og satte foten på deres nakke.
And it was when brought out they the kings these to Joshua and he summoned Joshua every man of Israel and he said to [the] commanders of [the] men of war who had gone with him draw near put feet your on [the] necks of the kings these and they drew near and they put feet their on necks their.
25 Og Josva sa til dem: Frykt ikke og reddes ikke, vær frimodige og sterke! For således skal Herren gjøre med alle fiender som I kommer i strid med.
And he said to them Joshua may not you be afraid and may not you be dismayed be strong and be bold for thus he will do Yahweh to all enemies your whom you [are] fighting them.
26 Derefter hugg Josva dem ned og drepte dem og hengte dem op på fem trær; og de blev hengende på trærne helt til aftenen.
And he struck them Joshua after thus and he killed them and he hanged them on five trees and they were hanged on the trees until the evening.
27 Men på den tid solen gikk ned, bød Josva sine folk å ta dem ned av trærne og kaste dem i den hule de hadde skjult sig i; og for inngangen til hulen la de store stener, som ligger der den dag idag.
And it was to [the] time of - [the] going of the sun he commanded Joshua and people took down them from on the trees and they threw them into the cave where they had hidden themselves there and they put stones large over [the] mouth of the cave until [the] substance of the day this.
28 Samme dag inntok Josva Makkeda og slo byen med sverdets egg, og kongen der slo han med bann og hver sjel som var der; han lot ikke nogen bli i live eller slippe unda; han gjorde med kongen i Makkeda som han hadde gjort med kongen i Jeriko.
And Makkedah he captured Joshua on the day that and he struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and king its he totally destroyed them and every person who [was] in it not he left a survivor and he did to [the] king of Makkedah just as he had done to [the] king of Jericho.
29 Fra Makkeda drog Josva med hele Israel til Libna og stred mot Libna.
And he passed on Joshua and all Israel with him from Makkedah Libnah and he engaged in battle with Libnah.
30 Og Herren gav også denne by med dens konge i Israels hånd, og han slo den med sverdets egg og hugg ned hver sjel som var der; han lot ikke nogen bli i live eller slippe unda; han gjorde med kongen der som han hadde gjort med kongen i Jeriko.
And he gave Yahweh also it in [the] hand of Israel and king its and he struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and every person who [was] in it not he left in it a survivor and he did to king its just as he had done to [the] king of Jericho.
31 Så drog Josva med hele Israel fra Libna til Lakis; og han leiret sig mot byen og stred mot den.
And he passed on Joshua and all Israel with him from Libnah Lachish towards and he encamped on it and he engaged in battle against it.
32 Og Herren gav Lakis i Israels hånd; den annen dag inntok han byen og slo den med sverdets egg og hugg ned hver sjel som var der, aldeles som han hadde gjort med Libna.
And he gave Yahweh Lachish in [the] hand of Israel and he captured it on the day second and he struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and every person who [was] in it according to all that he had done to Libnah.
33 Da drog Horam, kongen i Geser, op for å hjelpe Lakis; men Josva slo ham og hans folk og lot ikke nogen av dem bli i live eller slippe unda.
Then he came up Horam [the] king of Gezer to help Lachish and he attacked him Joshua and people his until not he had left to him a survivor.
34 Fra Lakis drog Josva med hele Israel til Eglon; og de leiret sig mot byen og stred mot den.
And he passed on Joshua and all Israel with him from Lachish Eglon towards and they encamped on it and they engaged in battle on it.
35 Og de inntok byen samme dag og slo den med sverdets egg, og hver sjel som var der, slo han med bann samme dag, aldeles som han hadde gjort med Lakis.
And they captured it on the day that and they struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and every person who [was] in it on the day that he totally destroyed according to all that he had done to Lachish.
36 Så drog Josva med hele Israel fra Eglon op til Hebron; og de stred mot byen
And he went up Joshua and all Israel with him from Eglon Hebron towards and they engaged in battle on it.
37 og inntok den og slo den med sverdets egg, både den og dens konge og alle småbyer som lå under den, og hugg ned hver sjel som var der; han lot ikke nogen bli i live eller slippe unda, aldeles som han hadde gjort med Eglon; han slo byen og hver sjel som var der, med bann.
And they captured it and they struck it to [the] mouth of [the] sword and king its and all cities its and every person who [was] in it not he left a survivor according to all that he had done to Eglon and he totally destroyed it and every person who [was] in it.
38 Derefter vendte Josva sig med hele Israel mot Debir og stred mot byen.
And he turned back Joshua and all Israel with him Debir towards and he engaged in battle on it.
39 Og han tok den og dens konge og alle småbyer som lå under den, og de slo dem med sverdets egg, og hver sjel som var der, slo de med bann; han lot ikke nogen bli i live eller slippe unda; som han hadde gjort med Hebron, og som han hadde gjort med Libna og kongen der, således gjorde han med Debir og kongen der.
And he captured it and king its and all cities its and they struck them to [the] mouth of [the] sword and they totally destroyed every person who [was] in it not he left a survivor just as he had done to Hebron so he did to Debir and to king its and just as he had done to Libnah and to king its.
40 Således tok Josva hele landet, både fjellbygdene og sydlandet og lavlandet og liene, og slo alle kongene der; han lot ikke nogen bli i live eller slippe unda, og alt som drog ånde, slo han med bann, således som Herren, Israels Gud, hadde befalt.
And he defeated Joshua all the land the hill country and the Negev and the Shephelah and the slopes and all kings their not he left a survivor and every breathing thing he totally destroyed just as he had commanded Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
41 Alt som fantes mellem Kades-Barnea og Gasa, og hele Gosenlandet like til Gibeon slo han under sig.
And he struck down them Joshua from Kadesh Barnea and to Gaza and all [the] land of Goshen and to Gibeon.
42 Og alle disse konger og deres land tok Josva på én gang; for Herren, Israels Gud, stred for Israel.
And all the kings these and land their he captured Joshua time one for Yahweh [the] God of Israel [was] fighting for Israel.
43 Derefter vendte Josva med hele Israel tilbake til leiren ved Gilgal.
And he returned Joshua and all Israel with him to the camp Gilgal towards.
