Esaias 30
1 Ve de gjenstridige barn, sier Herren, de som utfører råd som ikke er fra mig, og inngår avtale uten min Ånd, så de legger synd til synd,
Wo to the rebellious children, sayth the Lord, that take counsell, but not of me, and couer with a couering, but not by my spirit, that they may lay sinne vpon sinne:
2 de som drar ned til Egypten, uten at de har rådspurt mig, for å finne vern hos Farao og søke ly i Egyptens skygge!
Which walke forth to goe downe into Egypt (and haue not asked at my mouth) to strengthen them selues with the strength of Pharaoh, and trust in the shadowe of Egypt.
3 Men Faraos vern skal bli eder til skam, og det ly I søker i Egyptens skygge, til skjensel.
But the strength of Pharaoh shalbe your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 For deres fyrster er kommet til Soan, og deres sendebud kommer like til Hanes;
For his princes were at Zoan, and his Ambassadours came vnto Hanes.
5 alle blir de til skamme ved et folk som ikke gagner dem, som ikke er til hjelp og ikke til gagn, men bare til skam og skjensel.
They shalbe all ashamed of the people that cannot profite them, nor helpe nor doe them good, but shalbe a shame and also a reproche.
6 Utsagn om dyrene som drar mot syd. Gjennem nøds og trengsels land, hvor løve og løvinne, huggorm og flyvende serafslange har sitt hjem, fører de sitt gods på aseners rygg og sine skatter på kamelers pukler til et folk som ikke gagner dem.
The burden of the beasts of the South, in a land of trouble and anguish, from whence shall come the yong and olde lyon, the viper and fierie flying serpent against them that shall beare their riches vpon the shoulders of the coltes, and their treasures vpon the bounches of the camels, to a people that cannot profite.
7 Aldri nogen gang vil Egypten hjelpe; derfor kaller jeg det: storskryteren som sitter stille.
For the Egyptians are vanitie, and they shall helpe in vaine. Therefore haue I cried vnto her, Their strength is to sit still.
8 Gå nu inn, skriv det på en tavle i deres påsyn og tegn det op i en bok, så det kan være for kommende dager, for alltid, til evig tid!
Now go, and write it before them in a table, and note it in a booke that it may be for the last day for euer and euer:
9 For det er et gjenstridig folk, løgnaktige barn, barn som ikke vil høre Herrens lov,
That it is a rebellious people, lying children, and children that would not heare the law of the Lord.
10 som sier til seerne: I skal ikke se, og til profetene: I skal ikke skue for oss det som rett er; tal smigrende ord til oss, sku synkvervinger,
Which say vnto the Seers, See not: and to the Prophets, Prophecie not vnto vs right things: but speake flattering things vnto vs: prophecie errours.
11 vik av fra veien, bøi av fra stien, få Israels Hellige bort fra vårt åsyn!
Depart out of the way: go aside out of the path: cause the holy one of Israel to cease from vs.
12 Derfor sier Israels Hellige så: Fordi I har forkastet dette ord og satt eders lit til vold og krokveier og støttet eder på slikt -
Therefoe thus saith the holy one of Israel, Because you haue cast off this worde, and trust in violence, and wickednes, and stay thereupon,
13 derfor skal denne misgjerning bli eder som et falleferdig stykke som skyver sig mere og mere frem på en høi mur, inntil muren med ett, i et øieblikk, styrter sammen og knuses;
Therefore this iniquitie shalbe vnto you as a breach that falleth, or a swelling in an hie wall, whose breaking commeth suddenly in a moment.
14 den knuses likesom en knuser et pottemakerkar, som en slår i stykker uten skånsel, så det blandt stykkene ikke finnes et skår til å hente ild med fra gruen eller øse vann med av brønnen.
And the breaking thereof is like the breaking of a potters pot, which is broken without pitie, and in the breaking thereof is not found a sheard to take fire out of the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.
15 For så sa Herren, Israels Gud, Israels Hellige: Dersom I vender om og holder eder rolige, skal I frelses; i stillhet og i tillit skal eders styrke være. Men I vilde ikke.
For thus sayd the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel, In rest and quietnes shall ye be saued: in quietnes and in confidence shall be your strength, but ye would not.
16 I sa: Nei, på hester vil vi flyve - derfor skal I flykte - og på rappføtte dyr vil vi ride - derfor skal eders forfølgere være rappe.
For ye haue sayd, No, but we wil flee away vpon horses. Therefore shall ye flee. We will ride vpon the swiftest. Therefore shall your persecuters be swifter.
17 Et tusen skal flykte for en trusel fra en mann; når bare fem mann truer, skal I flykte inntil eders levning er lik en flaggstang på toppen av et fjell og et banner på en haug.
A thousand as one shall flee at the rebuke of one: at the rebuke of fiue shall ye flee, till ye be left as a ship maste vpon the top of a mountaine, and as a beaken vpon an hill.
18 Og derfor bier Herren med å være eder nådig, og derfor holder han sig langt borte i det høie med sin barmhjertighet mot eder; for Herren er en dommens Gud; salige er alle de som bier på ham.
Yet therefore will the Lord waite, that he may haue mercy vpon you, and therefore wil he be exalted, that hee may haue compassion vpon you: for the Lord is the God of iudgement. Blessed are all they that waite for him.
19 For du folk som bor på Sion, i Jerusalem, du skal ikke bli ved å gråte; han vil være dig nådig når du roper; når han hører det, svarer han dig.
Surely a people shall dwell in Zion, and in Ierusalem: thou shalt weepe no more: he wil certainly haue mercy vpon thee at the voyce of thy crye: when he heareth thee, he wil answere thee.
20 Herren skal gi eder nødens brød og trengselens vann, og da skal dine lærere ikke mere skjule sig, men dine øine skal se dine lærere,
And when the Lord hath giuen you the bread of aduersitie, and the water of affliction, thy raine shalbe no more kept backe, but thine eyes shall see thy raine.
21 og når du viker av til høire eller til venstre, skal dine ører høre et ord lyde bak dig: Dette er veien, gå på den!
And thine eares shall heare a worde behind thee, saying, This is the way, walke ye in it, when thou turnest to the right hand, and when thou turnest to the left.
22 Og du skal akte for urene sølvplatene på dine utskårne billeder og gullplatene på ditt støpte billede; du skal kaste det bort som skitne kluter; ut med dig! skal du si til det.
And ye shall pollute the couering of the images of siluer, and the riche ornament of thine images of golde, and cast them away as a menstruous cloth, and thou shalt say vnto it, Get thee hence.
23 Da skal han gi regn for sæden du sår i jorden, og brød av jordens grøde, og det skal være kraftig og saftig; din buskap skal på den dag belte på en vid eng.
Then shall hee giue raine vnto thy seede, when thou shalt sowe the ground, and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shalbe fat and as oyle: in that day shall thy cattell be fed in large pastures.
24 Og oksene og asenene som arbeider jorden, skal ete saltet blandingsfôr, som kastes med skuffe og kasteskovl.
The oxen also and the yong asses, that till the ground, shall eate cleane prouender, which is winowed with the shoouel and with the fanne.
25 Og på hvert høit fjell og på hver høi bakke skal det være bekker, strømmer av vann, på den store slaktings dag, når tårnene faller.
And vpon euery hie mountaine, and vpon euery hie hill shall there be riuers and streames of waters, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers shall fall.
26 Og månens lys skal bli som solens lys, og solens lys skal bli syvfold klarere, som lyset for syv dager, på den dag Herren læger sitt folks skade og forbinder såret av det slag det fikk.
Moreouer, the light of the moone shall be as the light of the sunne, and the light of the sunne shalbe seuen folde, and like the light of seuen dayes in the day that the Lord shall binde vp the breach of his people, and heale the stroke of their wound.
27 Se, Herrens navn kommer fra det fjerne, brennende er hans vrede, og tung er røken som stiger op; hans leber svulmer av harme, og hans tunge er som fortærende ild,
Beholde, the Name of the Lord commeth from farre, his face is burning, and the burden thereof is heauy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is as a deuouring fire.
28 og hans vredespust er som en overskyllende å som når til halsen; han vil sælde hedningefolkene i ødeleggelsens såld og legge et bissel i folkenes munn til å lede dem vill.
And his spirit is as a riuer that ouerfloweth vp to the necke: it deuideth asunder, to fanne the nations with the fanne of vanitie, and there shall be a bridle to cause them to erre in the chawes of the people.
29 Eders sang skal lyde som i den natt høitiden blir innvidd, og det skal være hjertens glede, som når de går med fløitespill op til Herrens berg, til Israels klippe.
But there shall be a song vnto you as in the night, when solemne feast is kept: and gladnes of heart, as he that commeth with a pipe to goe vnto the mount of the Lord, to the mightie one of Israel.
30 Og Herren skal la høre sin veldige røst og vise sin nedfarende arm i brennende harme og fortærende ildslue, storm og regnskyll og hagl.
And the Lord shall cause his glorious voyce to be heard, and shall declare the lighting downe of his arme with the anger of his countenance, and flame of a deuouring fire, with scattering and tempest, and hailestones.
31 For Herrens røst skal Assur forferdes, han som slår med kjeppen.
For with the voyce of the Lord shall Asshur be destroyed, which smote with the rod.
32 Og hver gang den stav som Herren efter sitt råd lar falle på ham, farer ned, skal det skje under klang av trommer og citarer, og gang på gang skal han løfte sin arm og stride mot ham.
And in euery place that ye staffe shall passe, it shall cleaue fast, which the Lord shall lay vpon him with tabrets and harpes: and with battels, and lifting vp of hands shall he fight against it.
33 For et brandsted er laget i stand for lenge siden; også for kongen er det laget i stand, dypt og vidt; dets bål har ild og ved i mengde; lik en svovelstrøm tender Herrens ånde det i brand.
For Tophet is prepared of olde: it is euen prepared for the King: hee hath made it deepe and large: the burning thereof is fire and much wood: the breath of the Lord, like a riuer of brimstone, doeth kindle it.
