Esaias 24
1 Se, Herren tømmer jorden og legger den øde; han omskifter dens skikkelse og adspreder dem som bor på den.
Here! Yahweh [is] about to lay waste the earth and [is] about to devastate it and he will twist surface its and he will scatter inhabitants its.
2 Da går det presten som folket, herren som trælen, fruen som trælkvinnen, selgeren som kjøperen, låntageren som långiveren, ågerkaren som hans skyldner.
And it will be as the people as the priest as the servant as master his as the maidservant as mistress her as the buyer as the seller as the lender as the borrower as the creditor as [the one] who a creditor [is] in him.
3 Tømmes, ja tømmes skal jorden og plyndres, ja plyndres; for Herren har talt dette ord.
Certainly - it will be laid waste the earth and certainly - it will be plundered for Yahweh he has spoken the word this.
4 Jorden sørger og visner bort; jorderike sykner og visner bort; de ypperste av dem som bor på jorden, sykner bort.
It has dried up it has withered the earth it has languished it has withered [the] world they have languished [the] noble[s] of [the] people of the earth.
5 Og jorden er vanhelliget under dem som bor på den; for de har krenket lovene, overtrådt budet, brutt den evige pakt.
And the earth it has been polluted under inhabitants its for they have transgressed laws they have overstepped [the] decree they have broken [the] covenant of perpetuity.
6 Derfor fortærer forbannelse jorden, og de som bor på den, må bøte; derfor brenner jordboerne, og det blir bare få mennesker igjen.
There-fore a curse it has consumed [the] earth and they have been held guilty [the] inhabitants in it there-fore they have diminished [the] inhabitants of [the] earth and it will be left humankind of smallness.
7 Mosten visner, vintreet sykner bort; alle de som før var så hjerteglade, sukker nu.
It has dried up new wine it has languished [the] vine they have groaned all [the people] joyful of heart.
8 Det er forbi med gleden ved trommenes lyd, det er slutt med de jublendes larm; det er forbi med gleden ved citarens klang.
It has ceased [the] gaiety of tambourines it has stopped [the] uproar of jubilant [people] it has ceased [the] gaiety of [the] harp.
9 De drikker ikke lenger vin under sang; besk er den sterke drikk for dem som drikker den.
With song not people will drink wine it will be bitter strong drink to [those who] drink it.
10 Nedbrutt er den øde by; stengt er hvert hus, så ingen kan gå inn.
It has been broken [the] town of formlessness it has been shut up every house from entering.
11 På gatene lyder klagerop over vinen; all glede er borte, landets fryd er blitt landflyktig.
An outcry on wine [will be] in the streets it has become evening all gladness it has departed [the] gaiety of the earth.
12 Tilbake i byen er bare ødeleggelse, og porten er slått i stumper og stykker.
It has remained in the city desolation and ruin it will be crushed [the] gate.
13 For således skal det gå til blandt folkene på jorden som når oliven slåes ned, som ved efterhøsten, når vinhøsten er forbi.
For thus it will be in [the] midst of the earth in among the peoples like [the] beating of an olive tree like gleanings if it has come to an end [the] grape harvest.
14 De, de skal opløfte sin røst og rope med fryd; over Herrens herlighet jubler de fra havet.
They they will lift up voice their they will shout for joy in [the] majesty of Yahweh they will cry aloud from [the] west.
15 Ær derfor Herren, I som bor i Østens land; ær Herrens, Israels Guds navn, I som bor på havets øer!
There-fore in the east glorify Yahweh in [the] islands of the sea [the] name of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
16 Fra jordens ytterste kant hører vi lovsanger: Ære være den Rettferdige! Men jeg sier: Jeg forgår, jeg forgår, ve mig! Røvere røver, ja, røvere røver og plyndrer.
From [the] extremity of the earth songs we have heard splendor [belongs] to the righteous [one] and I said leanness [belongs] to me leanness [belongs] to me woe! to me [those who] act treacherously they act treacherously and treachery [those who] act treacherously they act treacherously.
17 Gru og grav og garn over dig, du som bor på jorden!
Dread and pit and snare [are] on you O inhabitant of the earth.
18 Og det skal skje at den som flyr for den grufulle larm, skal falle i graven, og den som kommer op av graven, skal fanges i garnet; for slusene i det høie er åpnet, og jordens grunnvoller skjelver.
And it will be the [one who] flees from [the] sound of the dread he will fall into the pit and the [one who] goes up from [the] midst of the pit he will be caught in snare for windows from a high place they have been opened and they have shaken [the] foundations of [the] earth.
19 Jorden brister, ja, den brister; jorden revner, ja, den revner; jorden rystes, ja, den rystes.
Utterly it has been broken the earth utterly it has been split through [the] earth certainly it has been shaken [the] earth.
20 Jorden skal rave som den drukne og svinges hit og dit som en hengekøi, og dens misgjerning skal gynge på den, og den skal falle og ikke reise sig mere.
Wildly it will stagger [the] earth like drunkard and it will sway like hut and it will be heavy on it transgression its and it will fall and not it will repeat to rise.
21 På den tid skal Herren hjemsøke himmelens hær i det høie og jordens konger nede på jorden;
And it will be in the day that he will visit [judgment] Yahweh on [the] host of the height in the height[s] and on [the] kings of the earth on the earth.
22 og de skal samles sammen som fanger i hulen og settes fast i fengslet, og langt om lenge skal de få sin straff.
And they will be gathered a gathering prisoner[s] to a pit and they will be shut up at a prison and from an abundance of days they will be visited.
23 Og månen skal blyges, og solen skamme sig; for Herren, hærskarenes Gud, er konge på Sions berg og i Jerusalem, og for hans eldstes øine er det herlighet.
And it will be abashed the moon and it will be ashamed the sun for he will reign Yahweh of hosts on [the] mountain of Zion and in Jerusalem and before elders his glory.
