5 Mosebok 27

1 Og Moses og de eldste i Israel bød folket og sa: Ta vare på alle de bud jeg gir eder idag!

Moses [Drawn out] and the elders of Israel [God prevails] enjoined the people, saying, “Keep all the mitzvot ·instructions· and statutes which I enjoin you today.

2 Og når I kommer over Jordan til det land Herren din Gud gir dig, da skal du reise op nogen store stener og stryke dem over med kalk.

It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan [Descender] to the land which Adonai your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.

3 På dem skal du, når du er kommet over, skrive alle ordene i denne lov, forat du kan komme inn i det land Herren din Gud gir dig, et land som flyter med melk og honning, således som Herren, dine fedres Gud, har tilsagt dig.

You shall write on them all the words of this Torah ·Teaching·, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which Adonai your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Adonai, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

4 Så snart I er kommet over Jordan, skal I reise op disse stener som jeg idag gir eder befaling om, på Ebal-fjellet, og du skal stryke dem over med kalk.

It shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan [Descender], that you shall set up these stones, which I enjoin you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster.

5 Og du skal bygge Herren din Gud et alter der, et alter av stener; du skal ikke bruke jern på dem.

There you shall build an altar to Adonai your God, an altar of stones. You shall not use any iron tool on them.

6 Av hele stener skal du bygge Herrens, din Guds alter, og du skal ofre Herren din Gud brennoffer på det.

You shall build Adonai your God’s altar of uncut stones. You shall offer burnt offerings on it to Adonai your God.

7 Og du skal ofre takkoffer og ete dem der og være glad for Herrens, din Guds åsyn.

You shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there. You shall rejoice before Adonai your God.

8 Og du skal skrive på stenene alle ordene i denne lov, klart og tydelig.

You shall write on the stones all the words of this Torah ·Teaching· very plainly.”

9 Og Moses og de levittiske prester talte til hele Israel og sa: Gi akt og hør, Israel! På denne dag er du blitt Herrens, din Guds folk.

Moses [Drawn out] and the priests the Levites [Descendants of United with] spoke to all Israel [God prevails], saying, “Be silent, and sh'ma ·hear obey·, Israel [God prevails]! Today you have become the people of Adonai your God.

10 Så lyd da Herrens, din Guds røst, og hold hans bud og hans lover, som jeg gir dig idag!

You shall therefore sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai your God’s voice, and do his instructions and his statutes, which I enjoin you today.”

11 Samme dag bød Moses folket og sa:

Moses [Drawn out] enjoined the people the same day, saying,

12 Når I er kommet over Jordan, da skal disse stå på fjellet Garisim og velsigne folket: Simeon og Levi og Juda og Issakar og Josef og Benjamin.

“These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan [Descender]: Simeon [Hearing], Levi [United with], Judah [Praised], Issachar [Hire, Reward], Joseph [May he add], and Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south].

13 Og disse skal stå på fjellet Ebal og lyse forbannelse: Ruben, Gad og Aser og Sebulon, Dan og Naftali.

These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben [See, a son!], Gad [Good fortune], Asher [Happy], Zebulun [Living together], Dan [He judged], and Naphtali [My wrestling].

14 Og levittene skal ta til orde og si med høi røst til hver mann i Israel:

With a loud voice, the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall say to all the men of Israel [God prevails],

15 Forbannet være den mann som gjør et utskåret eller et støpt billede, en vederstyggelighet for Herren, et verk av en kunstners hender, og stiller det op i lønndom! Og alt folket skal svare og si: Amen.

‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Adonai, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

16 Forbannet være den som ringeakter sin far eller sin mor! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

17 Forbannet være den som flytter merkestenene mellem sig og sin næste! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

18 Forbannet være den som får en blind til å fare vill på veien! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who leads the blind astray, intoxicated, unintentional sin ·error· on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

19 Forbannet være den som bøier retten for en fremmed, en farløs og en enke! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who withholds mishpat ·justice· from the foreigner, orphan, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

20 Forbannet være den som ligger hos sin fars hustru, for han har vanæret sin fars leie! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he dishonors his father’s bed.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

21 Forbannet være den som har omgang med noget dyr! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

22 Forbannet være den som ligger hos sin søster, sin fars eller sin mors datter! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

23 Forbannet være den som ligger hos sin hustrus mor! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

24 Forbannet være den som slår sin næste ihjel i lønndom! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

25 Forbannet være den som tar imot gaver for å slå nogen ihjel og utøser uskyldig blod! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’

26 Forbannet være den som ikke holder ordene i denne lov og ikke gjør efter dem! Og alt folket skal si: Amen.

‘Cursed is he who does not uphold the words of this Torah ·Teaching· by doing them.’ ‘All the people shall say, “Amen ·So be it·.’”
