Kolossenserne 1
1 Paulus, ved Guds vilje Kristi Jesu apostel, og broderen Timoteus
PAUL, a legate of Jesus the Messiah by the pleasure of God, and Timothy a brother,
2 - til de hellige og troende brødre i Kristus i Kolossæ: Nåde være med eder og fred fra Gud vår Fader!
to them who are at Colosse, the brethren, holy and believing in Jesus the Messiah: peace be with you, and grace from God our Father.
3 Vi takker alltid Gud og vår Herre Jesu Kristi Fader når vi beder for eder,
We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, at all times, and pray for you;
4 efterat vi har hørt om eders tro på Kristus Jesus og den kjærlighet som I har til alle de hellige,
lo, ever since we heard of your faith in Jesus the Messiah, and of your love to all the saints;
5 for det håps skyld som er gjemt for eder i himlene, som I forut har hørt om ved sannhetens ord i evangeliet,
because of the hope that is laid up for you in heaven, of which ye heard before in the word of truth of the gospel;
6 som er kommet til eder, likesom det og er i hele verden og bærer frukt og vokser som hos eder, fra den dag I hørte det og lærte å kjenne Guds nåde i sannhet,
which is announced to you, as also to all the world; and which groweth and yieldeth fruits, as it doth also among you from the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in reality:
7 således som I har lært av Epafras, vår elskede medtjener, som er en tro Kristi tjener for eder,
as ye learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of the Messiah;
8 han som også har fortalt oss om eders kjærlighet i Ånden.
and who hath made known to us your love in the Spirit.
9 Derfor holder vi fra den dag vi hørte det, ikke op med å gjøre bønn for eder og bede at I må fylles med kunnskap om hans vilje i all åndelig visdom og forstand,
Therefore we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray for you; and to ask that ye may be filled with a knowledge of the good pleasure of God, in all wisdom, and in all spiritual understanding;
10 at I kan vandre verdig for Herren til velbehag i alt, så I bærer frukt og vokser i all god gjerning ved kunnskapen om Gud,
that ye may walk as is right, and may please God with all good works, and may yield fruits, and grow in the knowledge of God;
11 så I styrkes med all styrke efter hans herlighets kraft til all tålmodighet og langmodighet,
and may be strengthened with all strength, according to the greatness of his glory, in all patience and long suffering;
12 så I med glede takker Faderen, som gjorde oss skikkede til å få del i de helliges arvelodd i lyset,
and may, with joy, give thanks to God the Father, who hath fitted us for a portion of the inheritance of the saints in light;
13 han som fridde oss ut av mørkets makt og satte oss over i sin elskede Sønns rike,
and hath rescued us from the dominion of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son;
14 i hvem vi har forløsningen, syndenes forlatelse.
by whom we have redemption and remission of sins:
15 Og han er et billede av Gud den usynlige, den førstefødte fremfor enhver skapning;
who is the likeness of the invisible God, and the first-born of all creatures:
16 for i ham er alle ting skapt, de i himlene og de på jorden, de synlige og de usynlige, enten det så er troner eller herredømmer eller makter eller myndigheter; alt er det skapt ved ham og til ham,
and by him was created every thing that is in heaven and on earth, all that is seen and all that is unseen, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or sovereignties; every thing was through him, and was created by him:
17 og han er før alle ting, og alle ting står ved ham.
and he was prior to all, and by him every thing exists.
18 Og han er hovedet for legemet, som er menigheten, han som er ophavet, den førstefødte av de døde, forat han i alle deler skulde være den ypperste;
And he is the head of the body the church; as he is the head and first-born from among the dead, that he might be the first in all things.
19 for det var Guds vilje at hele hans fylde skulde ta bolig i ham,
For it pleased the Father, that in him all fullness should dwell;
20 og ved ham å forlike alle ting med sig, idet han gjorde fred ved hans korses blod, - ved ham, enten det er de på jorden eller de i himlene.
and by him, to reconcile all things to himself; and through him, he hath pacified, with the blood of his cross, both those on earth and those in heaven.
21 Også eder, som fordum var fremmede og fiender ved eders sinnelag, i de onde gjerninger,
And also to you, who were before alienated and enemies in your minds, because of your evil deeds,
22 eder har han nu forlikt i hans jordiske legeme ved døden, for å fremstille eder hellige og ulastelige og ustraffelige for sitt åsyn,
to you, he hath now given peace, by the body of his flesh, and by his death; that he might establish you in his presence, holy, without blemish, and without offence;
23 så sant I blir ved i troen, grunnfestet og faste, og ikke lar eder rokke fra det håp evangeliet gir, det som I har hørt, som er blitt forkynt for enhver skapning under himmelen, og som jeg, Paulus, er blitt tjener for.
provided ye continue in your faith, your foundation being firm, and ye be not removed from the hope of the gospel; of which ye have heard, that it is proclaimed in all the creation beneath heaven; of which gospel I Paul am a minister.
24 Nu gleder jeg mig over mine lidelser for eder og utfyller i mitt kjød det som ennu fattes i Kristi trengsler, for hans legeme, som er menigheten,
And I rejoice in the sufferings which are for your sakes; and, in my flesh, I fill up the deficiency in the afflictions of the Messiah, in behalf of his body, which is the church;
25 hvis tjener jeg er blitt efter den Guds husholdning som er mig gitt iblandt eder, det vil si å fullføre Guds ord,
of which I am a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me among you, that I should fulfill the word of God,
26 den hemmelighet som har vært skjult fra alle tiders og slekters ophav, men nu er blitt åpenbaret for hans hellige, (aiōn g165)
namely, that mystery, which was hidden for ages and generations, but is now revealed to his saints; (aiōn g165)
27 for hvem Gud vilde kunngjøre hvor rik på herlighet denne hemmelighet er iblandt hedningene, det er Kristus iblandt eder, håpet om herlighet.
to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which mystery is the Messiah; who in you is the hope of our glory;
28 Og ham forkynner vi, idet vi formaner hvert menneske og lærer hvert menneske med all visdom for å fremstille hvert menneske fullkomment i Kristus.
whom we proclaim, and teach and make known to every man, in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Jesus the Messiah.
29 For dette arbeider jeg og, idet jeg strider ved hans kraft, som virker i mig med styrke.
And for this also, I toil and strive, with the aid of the strength that is imparted to me.
