1 Krønikebok 4
1 Judas sønner var Peres, Hesron og Karmi og Hur og Sobal.
Sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 Og Reaja, Sobals sønn, fikk sønnen Jahat, og Jahat fikk sønnene Ahumai og Lahad; dette var soratittenes ætter.
And Reaiah son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad; these [are] families of the Zorathite.
3 Og dette var Abi-Etams ætter: Jisre'el og Jisma og Jidbas, og deres søster hette Haslelponi.
And these [are] of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister [is] Hazzelelponi;
4 Og Pnuel var far til Gedor, og Eser var far til Husa; de var sønner av Hur, Efratas førstefødte sønn og far til Betlehem.
and Penuel [is] father of Gedor, and Ezer father of Hushah. These [are] sons of Hur, firstborn of Ephratah, father of Beth-Lehem.
5 Og Tekoas far Ashur hadde to hustruer, Hela og Na'ara.
And to Ashhur father of Tekoa were two wives, Helah and Naarah;
6 Med Na'ara fikk han Ahussam og Hefer og Temeni og Ahastari; dette var Na'aras sønner.
and Naarah bears to him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari: these [are] sons of Naarah.
7 Og Helas sønner var Seret, Jishar og Etnan.
And sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.
8 Og Kos blev far til Anub og Hassobeba og Aharhels, Harums sønns ætter.
And Coz begot Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel son of Harum.
9 Jabes var æret fremfor sine brødre; hans mor gav ham navnet Jabes, idet hun sa: Jeg har født ham med smerte.
And Jabez is honored above his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I have brought forth with grief.”
10 Og Jabes påkalte Israels Gud og sa: Å, om du vilde velsigne mig og utvide mine landemerker og la din hånd være med mig, og om du vilde lage det så at det ingen ulykke kom, og jeg blev fri for smerte! Og Gud lot det komme som han hadde bedt om.
And Jabez calls to the God of Israel, saying, “If blessing You bless me, then You have made my border great, and Your hand has been with me, and You have kept [me] from evil—not to grieve me”; and God brings in that which he asked.
11 Og Suhas bror Kelub fikk sønnen Mehir; han var far til Eston.
And Chelub brother of Shuah begot Mehir; he [is] father of Eshton.
12 Og Eston var far til Bet-Rafa og Paseah og Tehinna, Ir-Nahas' far dette var mennene fra Reka.
And Eshton begot Beth-Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah father of Ir-Nahash; these [are] men of Rechah.
13 Og Kenas' sønner var Otniel og Seraja, og Otniels sønn var Hatat.
And sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah; and sons of Othniel: Hathath.
14 Og Meonotai fikk sønnen Ofra, og Seraja fikk sønnen Joab, som var far til ætten i Tømmermannsdalen; for de var tømmermenn.
And Meonothai begot Ophrah, and Seraiah begot Joab father of the Valley of the Craftsmen, for they were craftsmen.
15 Og sønnene til Kaleb, Jefunnes sønn, var Iru, Ela og Na'am, og Elas sønn var Kenas.
And sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and sons of Elah: even Kenaz.
16 Og Jehallelels sønner var Sif og Sifa, Tirja og Asarel.
And sons of Jehaleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
17 Og Esras sønner var Jeter og Mered og Efer og Jalon; og hun blev fruktsommelig og fødte Mirjam og Sammai og Jisbah, far til Estemoa.
And sons of Ezra: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon. And she bears Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah father of Eshtemoa.
18 Og hans jødiske hustru fødte Jered, far til Gedor, og Heber, far til Soko, og Jekutiel, far til Sanoah; men de andre var sønner av Faraos datter Bitja, som Mered hadde tatt til hustru.
And his wife Jehudijah bore Jered father of Gedor, and Heber father of Socho, and Jekuthiel father of Zanoah. And these [are] sons of Bithiah daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took,

and sons of the wife of Hodiah sister of Nahom: Abi-Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
20 Og Simons sønner var Amnon og Rinna, Ben-Hanan og Tulon; og Jisis sønner var Sohet og Sohets sønn.
And sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-Hanon, and Tilon; and sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-Zoheth.
21 Sønnene til Sela, Judas sønn, var Er, far til Leka, og Lada, far til Maresa, og de ætter som tilhørte bomulls-arbeidernes hus av Asbeas ætt,

They [are] the potters and inhabitants of Netaim and Gedera; they dwelt there with the king in his work.

25 hans sønn var Sallum; hans sønn Mibsam; hans sønn Misma.

26 Og Mismas sønner var hans sønn Hammuel, hans sønn Sakkur og hans sønn Sime'i.
And sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zacchur his son, Shimei his son.
27 Og Sime'i hadde seksten sønner og seks døtre; men hans brødre hadde ikke mange sønner, så hele deres ætt ikke øktes så sterkt som Judas sønner.
And to Shimei [are] sixteen sons and six daughters, and to his brothers there are not many sons, and none of their families have multiplied as much as the sons of Judah.
28 De bodde i Be'erseba og Molada og Hasar-Sual
And they dwell in Beer-Sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shaul,
29 og i Bilha og i Esem og i Tolad
and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,
30 og i Betuel og i Horma og i Siklag
and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,
31 og i Bet-Markabot og i Hasar-Susim og i Bet-Biri og i Sa'ara'im - det var deres byer inntil David blev konge -
and in Beth-Marcaboth, and in Hazar-Susim, and in Beth-Birei, and in Shaarim; these [are] their cities until the reigning of David.
32 med tilhørende landsbyer, og i Etam og A'in, Rimmon og Token og Asan - fem byer -
And their villages [are] Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan—five cities,

and all their villages that [are] around these cities to Ba‘al; these [are] their dwellings, and they have their genealogy:
34 Og Mesobab og Jamlek og Josa, Amasjas sønn,
even Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah son of Amaziah,
35 og Joel og Jehu, sønn av Josibja, som var sønn av Asiels sønn Seraja,
and Joel, and Jehu son of Josibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,
36 og Eljoenai og Ja'akoba og Jesohaja og Asaja og Adiel og Jesimiel og Benaja
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 og Sisa, sønn av Sifi, som var sønn av Allon, som var sønn av Jedaja, som var sønn av Simri, som var sønn av Semaja -
and Ziza son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.

These who are coming in by name [are] princes in their families, and the house of their fathers has broken forth into a multitude;

and they go to the entrance of Gedor, to the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

and they find pasture, fat and good, and the land broad of sides, and quiet, and safe, for those dwelling there before are of Ham.
41 Da kom i Judas konge Esekias' dager de som her er optegnet ved navn, og ødela deres telter og hugg ned de meunitter som fantes der, og slo dem med bann, så de nu ikke mere er til, og bosatte sig i deres land; for der var beite for deres småfe.
And these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and strike their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction to this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock [is] there.
