1 Krønikebok 29
1 Derefter sa kong David til alle dem som var kommet sammen: Salomo, min sønn, den eneste som Gud har utvalgt, er ung og vek, og arbeidet er stort; for den herlige bygning skal ikke være for et menneske, men for Herren Gud.
And king David said to all the assembly: Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is as yet young and tender: and the work is great, for a house is prepared not for man, but for God.
2 Av all min kraft har jeg samlet sammen for min Guds hus gull til det som skal være av gull, og sølv til det som skal være av sølv, og kobber til det som skal være av kobber, og jern til det som skal være av jern, og tre til det som skal være av tre, dessuten onyks-stener og andre edelstener, stener til innfatning, sorte glansstener og brokete stener - alle slags dyre stener og en mengde marmorstener.
And I with all my ability have prepared the expenses for the house of my God. Gold for vessels of gold, and silver for vessels of silver, brass for things of brass, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood: and onyx stones, and stones like alabaster, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble of Paros in great abundance.
3 Og fordi jeg har min Guds hus kjært, vil jeg også gi hvad jeg eier av gull og sølv, til min Guds hus - foruten alt det jeg har samlet sammen til det hellige hus,
Now over and above the things which I have offered into the house of my God I give of my own proper goods, gold and silver for the temple of my God, beside what things I have prepared for the holy house.
4 tre tusen talenter gull, gull fra Ofir, og syv tusen talenter renset sølv til å klæ tempelrummenes vegger med,
Three thousand talents of gold of the gold of Ophir: and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the temple.
5 så der kan være gull og sølv til alt det som skal være av gull og av sølv, og til alle slags arbeid av kunstneres hender. Hvem er nu villig til idag å fylle sin hånd med gaver til Herren?
And gold for wheresoever there is need of gold: and silver for wheresoever there is need of silver, for the works to be made by the hands of the artificers: now if any man is willing to offer, let him fill his hand today, and offer what he pleaseth to the Lord.
6 Da kom de villig med gaver, både familienes overhoder og Israels stammehøvdinger og høvedsmennene over tusen og over hundre og opsynsmennene over kongens arbeid:
Then the heads of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, and the overseers of the king’s possessions promised,
7 Fem tusen talenter og ti tusen dariker gull og ti tusen talenter sølv og atten tusen talenter kobber og hundre tusen talenter jern gav de til arbeidet på Guds hus;
And they gave for the works of the house of the Lord, of gold, five thousand talents, and ten thousand solids: of silver ten thousand talents: and of brass eighteen thousand talents: and of iron a hundred thousand talents.
8 og de som eide edelstener, gav dem til skatten i Herrens hus, som gersonitten Jehiel hadde opsyn over.
And all they that had stones, gave them to the treasures of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jahiel the Gersonite.
9 Og folket gledet sig over at de gav så villig; for med udelt hjerte gav de frivillig sine gaver til Herren; kong David gledet sig også storlig.
And the people rejoiced, when they promised their offerings willingly: because they offered them to the Lord with all their heart: and David the king rejoiced also with a great joy.
10 Og David lovet Herren i hele forsamlingens påhør, og han sa: Lovet være du, Herre, vår far Israels Gud, fra evighet og til evighet!
And he blessed the Lord before all the multitude, and he said: Blessed art thou, O Lord the God of Israel, our father from eternity to eternity.
11 Dig, Herre, tilhører storheten og makten og æren og herligheten og majesteten, ja alt i himmelen og på jorden; ditt, Herre, er riket, og du er ophøiet over alt og har alt i din makt.
Thine, O Lord, is magnificence, and power, and glory, and victory: and to thee is praise: for all that is in heaven, and in earth, is thine: thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art above all princes.
12 Rikdom og ære kommer fra dig, og du råder over alle ting; i din hånd er styrke og makt, og i din hånd står det å gjøre hvad som helst stort og sterkt.
Thine are riches, and thine is glory, thou hast dominion over all, in thy hand is power and might: in thy hand greatness, and the empire of all things.
13 Så priser vi nu dig, vår Gud, og lover ditt herlige navn.
Now therefore our God we give thanks to thee, and we praise thy glorious name.
14 For hvem er vel jeg, og hvad er mitt folk, at vi skulde være i stand til å gi en frivillig gave som denne. Fra dig kommer det alt sammen, og av det som din hånd har gitt oss, har vi gitt dig.
Who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to promise thee all these things? all things are thine: and we have given thee what we received of thy hand.
15 For vi er fremmede for ditt åsyn og gjester, som alle våre fedre; som en skygge er våre dager på jorden og uten håp.
For we are sojourners before thee, and strangers, as were all our fathers. Our days upon earth are as a shadow, and there is no stay.
16 Herre vår Gud! Alle disse rikdommer som vi har samlet sammen for å bygge dig et hus for ditt hellige navn, de kommer fra din hånd, og ditt er det alt sammen.
O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name, is from thy hand, and all things are thine.
17 Jeg vet, min Gud, at du ransaker hjerter og har behag i opriktighet; av et opriktig hjerte har jeg villig gitt dig alt dette, og med glede har jeg nu sett hvorledes ditt folk som står her, frivillig har gitt dig sine gaver.
I know my God that thou provest hearts, and lovest simplicity, wherefore I also in the simplicity of my heart, have joyfully offered all these things: and I have seen with great joy thy people, which are here present, offer thee their offerings.
18 Herre, du Abrahams, Isaks og Israels, våre fedres Gud! La dette alltid være ditt folks hjertelag og tanker, og vend deres hjerte til dig!
O Lord God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Israel our fathers, keep for ever this will of their heart, and let this mind remain always for the worship of thee.
19 Og gi min sønn Salomo et udelt hjerte til å holde dine bud, dine vidnesbyrd og dine lover og utføre det alt sammen og bygge den herlige bygning som jeg har samlet forråd til.
And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, that he may keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy ceremonies, and do all things: and build the house, for which I have provided the charges.
20 Derefter sa David til hele forsamlingen: Lov Herren eders Gud! Og hele forsamlingen lovet Herren, sine fedres Gud, og bøide sig og kastet sig ned for Herren og for kongen.
And David commanded all the assembly: Bless ye the Lord our God. And all the assembly blessed the Lord the God of their fathers: and they bowed themselves and worshipped God, and then the king.
21 Så bar de slaktoffere frem for Herren; og dagen efter ofret de brennoffere til Herren: tusen okser, tusen værer, tusen lam, med tilhørende drikkoffere, og slaktoffere i mengde for hele Israel.
And they sacrificed victims to the Lord: and they offered holocausts the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their libations, and with every thing prescribed most abundantly for all Israel.
22 Og den dag åt og drakk de for Herrens åsyn med stor glede, og de gjorde annen gang Davids sønn Salomo til konge og salvet ham til en Herrens fyrste og Sadok til prest.
And they ate, and drank before the Lord that day with great joy. And they anointed the second time Solomon the son of David. And they anointed him to the Lord to be prince, and Sadoc to be high priest.
23 Og Salomo satt på Herrens trone som konge i sin far Davids sted; han hadde lykken med sig, og hele Israel var ham lydig,
And Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he pleased all: and all Israel obeyed him.
24 og alle høvdingene og heltene og likeså alle kong Davids sønner hyldet kong Salomo.
And all the princes, and men of power, and all the sons of king David gave their hand, and were subject to Solomon the king.
25 Og Herren lot Salomo bli overmåte stor for hele Israels øine og gav ham en kongelig herlighet som ingen konge i Israel før ham hadde hatt.
And the Lord magnified Solomon over all Israel: and gave him the glory of a reign, such as no king of Israel had before him.
26 David, Isais sønn, hadde vært konge over hele Israel.
So David the son of Isai reigned over all Israel.
27 Den tid han var konge over Israel, var firti år; i Hebron regjerte han i syv år, og i Jerusalem regjerte han i tre og tretti år.
And the days that he reigned over Israel, were forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem three and thirty years.
28 Og han døde i høi alder, mett av dager, rikdom og ære, og hans sønn Salomo blev konge i hans sted.
And he died in a good age, full of days, and riches, and glory. And Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
29 Hvad som er å fortelle om kong David, både i hans første og i hans senere dager, det er opskrevet i seeren Samuels krønike og i profeten Natans krønike og i seeren Gads krønike;
Now the acts of king David first and last are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer:
30 der er og fortalt om hele hans regjering og hans store gjerninger og om de tider som kom over ham og Israel og over alle andre land og riker.
And of all his reign, and his valour, and of the times that passed under him, either in Israel, or in all the kingdoms of the countries.
