< Valumi 13 >
1 Kila mundu iganikiwa kuvayidikila vachilongosi va mulima vevana uhotola muni kawaka mundu mweihotola kulongosa ngati Chapanga amvikili lepi alongosayi.
LET every soul be subject to the superior powers: for there is no power but from God; the existing powers are appointed by God.
2 Mundu yula mweibela ulongosi, mwenuyo ibela malagizu ga Chapanga, na mweikita chenicho akujiletela uhamula mwene.
Wherefore he that sets himself against authority, resists the ordinance of God: and they who resist shall receive to themselves condemnation.
3 Muni, vevitalalila viyogopwa lepi na vandu vevikita gabwina, nambu viyogopwa na vandu vala vevikita gahakau. Na veve wiganikiwa lepi kumuyogopa mweakulongosa. Kita gabwina na mwene yati akulumbalila,
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from it:
4 muni mwene akumuhengela Chapanga ndava yinu muni mpata gabwina. Nambu ngati ukita gahakau, ndi penapo umuyogopa, muni ana uhotola wa kuhamuliwa. Mwene ilangisa ligoga la Chapanga kwa vala vevikita uhakau.
for he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou doest that which is evil, tremble! for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, an avenger to inflict wrath on him that practises what is evil.
5 Ndi wiganikiwa kuvatopesa vanauhotola, lepi ndava ya kuyogopa kuhamuliwa na Chapanga nambu ndava ya mtima waku wimanya chewigana kuhenga.
Wherefore there is a necessity for being in subjection, not only for fear of wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 Ndava yeniyo nyenye mwilipa kodi, muni vevitalalila avo vakumuhengela Chapanga ndava ya mahengu gavi.
For on this account pay ye taxes also: for they are God’s ministers, continually employed on this very service.
7 Mumpela kila mundu cheiganikiwa kupewa, ngati udayiwa kodi, mumpela kodi, ngati udayiwa ushulu, mumpela ushulu, mweiganikiwa kuyogopwa ndi ayogopewayi mweiganikiwa kutopeswa mumtopesa.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.
8 Mkoto kuvya na lideni kwa mundu yoyoha, nambu lideni kuganana ndu. Muni mundu mweakumgana muyaki akugalanda malagizu ga Musa.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 Muni mihilu yene ndi yeniyi, “Kotoka kukita ugoni, koto kukoma, koto kuyiva koto kunogela vindu vya vandu,” Na zingi zoha zivii mu malagizu lenili limonga, “Umganayi muyaku ngati cheukujigana wamwene.”
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Ukamganayi muyaki uhotola lepi kumkitila uhakau. Hinu uganu ndi kwenuko ndi kutimila kwa Malagizu goha.
Love doeth no ill to a neighbour; the fulfilment therefore of the law is love.
11 Mkita naha, ndava muni lukumbi lwinu lwa kuyumuka mu lugono luhikili, usangula witu luhegelili papipi neju kuliku patatumbwili kusadika.
And thus do, knowing the time; for the hour is come that we should awake from sleep, for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.
12 Hinu kilu yipitili na muhi luhegelela. Ndi tileka kukita mahakau ga chitita na titola vindu vya kukomanila ngondo vya lumuli.
The night is far advanced, the day approaches: let us therefore put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Titama bwina ngati vandu vevitama lukumbi lwa muhi. Tileka mselebuko weuvi na matendu gahakau, na kugala na ukemi na uhakau na ngondo na wihu.
Let us walk becomingly as in the face of day, not in revels and drunkenness, not in impurities and wantonness, not in strife and envy.
14 Mkitayi vandu vamlolayi BAMBU witu Yesu Kilisitu avi muwumi winu, na mleka kuzihololela mnogo uhaku wemuvelikiwi nawu na kuzilanda.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to gratify its passions.
