< 1 Timoti 2 >
1 Kutumbula hoti mumjovela Chapanga chemwigana, mumyupa Chapanga, muvayupila vandu vangi na mumsengusa Chapanga ndava ya vandu voha.
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, be made for all people:
2 Muyupa ndava ya vankosi na vandu voha vevana uhotola, muni mtama matamilu changali kulyunga na uteke pamonga na luhala lwa Chapanga na matendu gabwina.
for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
3 Lijambu lenili labwina na lakumganisa Chapanga msangula witu,
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
4 mweigana vandu voha vasanguliwayi na vaumanya uchakaka.
who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
5 Muni avili Chapanga mmonga, na mewa avili mmonga mweakuvatepulanisa vandu na Chapanga, mundu mwenuyo ndi Kilisitu Yesu,
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, a human, Messiah Jesus,
6 mweajiwusili mwene kuvasangula vandu voha. Wenuwu wavi ulangisu, lukumbi lwabwina pawahikili, kuvya Chapanga igana kuvasangula vandu voha.
who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;
Nijova chakaka, lepi udese!
to which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.
8 Ndi popoha pemwikonganeka kuyupa Chapanga nigana vagosi vayupayi, vagosi vevajiwusili kujivika chakaka kwa Chapanga na vevihotola kukwesa mawoko gavi changali ligoga amala ndindani.
I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing;
10 nambu kujinyambisa kwavi kuganikiwa kuvya mumatendu gabwina ngati chayikuvagana vadala vevakumyidakila Chapanga.
but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works.
Let a woman learn in quietness with all subjection.
12 Nene nigana lepi mdala amuwula amala amlongosa mgosi, iganikiwa kutama nuu.
But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
13 Muni Adamu awumbiwi hoti, kangi ndi Eva.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Adam was not deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
15 Nambu vadala yati viveleka bwina ngati vasindimili musadika na uganu na ungolongondi.
but she will be delivered through the childbirth, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
