1 Valongo vitu, nakuganikiwa kuvayandikila kuvala lusenje na lukumbi lwa mambu aga pegihumila.
And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you,
2 Muni mwavene mmanyili kuvya BAMBU yati ibwela chigafula ngati muhiji cheibwela kilu.
for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come,
3 Vandu pevijova, “Kila chindu chitamili changali chitututu na uteke” Ndi uhakau paukuvagwilila chigafula! Mambu genago yati gihumila chigafula ngati lipyanda la mau mweigana kuveleka, kawaka mundu mweihotola kuyepa.
for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction doth stand by them, as the travail [doth] her who is with child, and they shall not escape;
4 Nambu nyenye, valongo, muvi lepi pachitita, na ligono lenilo nakuganikiwa kuvabwelela chigafula ngati mundu mwaiyiva.
and ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may catch you as a thief;
5 Mwavoha nyenye vandu mwemwitama palumuli, vandu vamuhi. Tete lepi tavandu va milima yingi vandu vangammanya Chapanga.
all ye are sons of light, and sons of day; we are not of night, nor of darkness,
6 Hinu, valongo tikotoka kugona lugono ngati vandu vangi, nambu tiganikiwa kuvya kujilola na kujitalalila tavete.
so, then, we may not sleep as also the others, but watch and be sober,
7 Ndava muni vevigona vigona kilu, na vevigala vigala kilu
for those sleeping, by night do sleep, and those making themselves drunk, by night are drunken,
8 Nambu tete tavandu vamuhi na tiganikiwa kuvya na kujitalalila tavete. Tiganikiwa kuwala sadika na uganu kujova nyula ya kujikinga panganga, na huvalila yitu ya usangula ngati kofia ya lyuma ya kudivalila mitu yitu.
and we, being of the day — let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and an helmet — a hope of salvation,
9 Muni Chapanga atihagwili lepi tikomiwa na ligoga laki, ndi tipata usangula kwa njila ya BAMBU witu Yesu Kilisitu
because God did not appoint us to anger, but to the acquiring of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 ndi afwili ndava yitu, muni titama pamonga na mwene, yivya wumi amala tifwili lukumbi peibwela.
who did die for us, that whether we wake — whether we sleep — together with him we may live;
11 Hinu mpolesanayi mitima na kutangatilana nyenye kwa nyenye, ngati chamwikita hinu.
wherefore, comfort ye one another, and build ye up, one the one, as also ye do.
12 Valongo, tikuvayupa muvatopesa vala vevihenga lihengu pagati yinu, vala vevakuvalongosa na kuvawula kuvala kutama mukumsadika Kilisitu.
And we ask you, brethren, to know those labouring among you, and leading you in the Lord, and admonishing you,
13 Muvatopesa neju na kuvagana ndava ya lihengu lavikita. Muvya na uteke pagati yinu.
and to esteem them very abundantly in love, because of their work; be at peace among yourselves;
14 Valongo, tikuvakofwa muvalapisa vandu vakata, muvakangamalisa mtima vandu vangolongondi, muvatangatila vandu vangali makakala, msindimala kwa vandu voha.
and we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the infirm, be patient unto all;
15 Mlola mundu yoyoha mlekekesanayi nyenye mwavene, muni mgana kuhengelana gabwina nyenye mwavene na kwa vandu voha.
see no one evil for evil may render to any one, but always that which is good pursue ye, both to one another and to all;
16 Mheka magono goha,
always rejoice ye;
17 muyupa Chapanga magono goha,
continually pray ye;
18 na kuvya na usengula kwa kila chindu chechihumila. Genago ndi geigana Chapanga kuhuma kwinu mukuwungana kwinu na Kilisitu Yesu.
in every thing give thanks, for this [is] the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you.
19 Mkoto kujimisa motu wa Mpungu Msopi,
The Spirit quench not;
20 mkoto kuvevesa ujumbi kuhuma kwa Chapanga.
prophesyings despise not;
21 Mlinga kila chindu. Mkamula chechivii chabwina,
all things prove; that which is good hold fast;
22 muyepa uhakau wowoha.
from all appearance of evil abstain ye;
23 Chapanga mwene mweakutipela uteke avanyambisa nyenye hoti kwa njila yoyoha. Na kuvatangatila mukuholalela kwinu na gemwinogela na muvindu vyoha vyemwihenga mkita genago goha changabuda mbaka peibwela BAMBU witu Yesu Kilisitu.
and the God of the peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your whole spirit, and soul, and body, be preserved unblameably in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ;
24 Chapanga mweakuvakemela nyenye yati itimilisa mambu ago muni mwene msadikika.
stedfast is He who is calling you, who also will do [it].
25 Valongo vitu, mtiyupila na tete mewa.
Brethren, pray for us;
26 Muvajambusa valongo voha kwa kulangisa mukuvagana.
salute all the brethren in an holy kiss;
27 Nikuvayupa neju kwa liina la BAMBU muvasomela vamsadika mu Kilisitu vitu voha balua iyi.
I charge you [by] the Lord, that the letter be read to all the holy brethren;
28 Tikuvaganila ubwina wa Chapanga wa BAMBU witu Yesu Kilisitu.
the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you! Amen.
