1 यूहन्‍ना 4

1 प्रिय मित्रहरू हो, जुनसुकै आत्मालाई विश्‍वास नगर, तर ती आत्माहरू परमेश्‍वरबाट आएका हुन् वा होइनन् भनी जाँच गर; किनकि संसारमा धेरै झूटा अगमवक्ताहरू निस्किआएका छन्।

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but put the spirits to the test to see whether they are from God; for many false teachers have gone out into the world.

2 परमेश्‍वरको आत्मालाई तिमीहरू यसरी चिन्‍न सक्नेछौ—हरेक आत्मा जसले येशू ख्रीष्‍ट शरीरमा आउनुभएको हो भनी स्वीकार गर्दछ, त्यो परमेश्‍वरबाटको हो।

The test by which you may recognize the Spirit of God is that every spirit which acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come as man is from God,

3 तर हरेक आत्मा, जसले येशूलाई स्वीकार गर्दैन, त्यो परमेश्‍वरबाटको होइन। अनि यही नै ख्रीष्‍ट विरोधीको आत्मा हो, जो आउँछ भन्‍ने तिमीहरूले सुनेका छौ, र अहिले नै पनि त्यो यस संसारमा आइसकेको छ।

and that no spirit is from God which does not acknowledge this about Jesus. Such is the spirit of the anti-Christ; of whose coming you have heard, and it is already in the world.

4 हे प्यारा साना नानीहरू हो, तिमीहरू परमेश्‍वरका हौ, र झूटा अगमवक्ताहरूलाई जितेका छौ; किनकि जो तिमीहरूमा हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँ संसारमा हुनेभन्दा महान् हुनुहुन्छ।

As for you, dear children, you are God's children, and have successfully resisted them; for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

5 तिनीहरू संसारका हुन्, त्यसैले संसारकै दृष्‍टिकोणद्वारा बोल्छन्, र संसारले तिनीहरूका कुरा सुन्छ।

They are the world's children, and so their language is that of the world, and the world listens to them. We are God's children.

6 हामी परमेश्‍वरका हौँ, र जसले परमेश्‍वरलाई जान्दछ; उसले हाम्रा कुरा सुन्छ; तर जो परमेश्‍वरको होइन, त्यसले हाम्रा कुरा सुन्दैन। यसैबाट नै हामी सत्यको आत्मा र झूटको आत्मालाई चिन्छौँ।

The man who is beginning to know God listens to us, but he who is not a child of God does not listen to us. By this test we can distinguish the Spirit of truth from the spirit of error.

7 प्रिय मित्रहरू हो, हामी एक-अर्कालाई प्रेम गरौँ; किनकि प्रेम परमेश्‍वरबाट आउँछ। हरेक जसले प्रेम गर्छ, त्यो परमेश्‍वरबाट जन्मेको हो, र त्यसले परमेश्‍वरलाई जान्दछ।

Dear friends, let us love one another; for love has its origin in God, and every one who loves has become a child of God and is beginning to know God.

8 जसले प्रेम गर्दैन, त्यसले परमेश्‍वरलाई चिनेको हुँदैन; किनकि परमेश्‍वर प्रेम हुनुहुन्छ।

He who is destitute of love has never had any knowledge of God; because God is love.

9 परमेश्‍वरले हाम्रा बीचमा उहाँको प्रेम यसरी प्रकट गर्नुभयो। पुत्रद्वारा हामी जिउन सकौँ भनेर उहाँले आफ्ना अद्वितीय पुत्र येशू ख्रीष्‍टलाई यस संसारमा पठाउनुभयो।

God's love for us has been manifested in that He has sent His only Son into the world so that we may have Life through Him.

10 प्रेम यही नै हो, हामीले परमेश्‍वरलाई प्रेम गरेनौँ, तर उहाँले हामीलाई प्रेम गर्नुभयो, र आफ्ना पुत्रलाई हाम्रो पापको लागि प्रायश्‍चितको बलि बनाएर पठाउनुभयो।

This is love indeed--we did not love God, but He loved us and sent His Son to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

11 प्रिय मित्रहरू हो, परमेश्‍वरले हामीलाई यस्तो प्रेम गर्नुभएको हुनाले हामीले पनि एक-अर्कालाई प्रेम गर्नुपर्छ।

Dear friends, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12 परमेश्‍वरलाई कसैले कहिल्यै देखेको छैन; तर हामीले एक-अर्कालाई प्रेम गर्‍यौँ भने परमेश्‍वर हामीमा जिउनुहुन्छ र उहाँको प्रेम हामीमा सिद्ध भएको हुन्छ।

No one has ever yet seen God. If we love one another, God continues in union with us, and His love in all its perfection is in our hearts.

13 हामी उहाँमा जिउँछौँ, र उहाँ हामीमा जिउनुहुन्छ भनी हामी जान्दछौँ; किनकि उहाँले हामीलाई आफ्नो पवित्र आत्मा दिनुभएको छ।

We can know that we are continuing in union with Him and that He is continuing in union with us, by the fact that He has given us a portion of His Spirit.

14 अनि हामीले देखेका छौँ र साक्षी दिन्छौँ; पिताले संसारका मुक्तिदाता हुनाका निम्ति आफ्ना पुत्रलाई पठाउनुभएको छ।

And we have seen and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 कुनै पनि व्यक्तिले येशू परमेश्‍वरका पुत्र हुनुहुन्छ भनी स्वीकार गर्छ भने परमेश्‍वर त्यसमा जिउनुहुन्छ र त्यो परमेश्‍वरमा।

Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God--God continues in union with him, and he continues in union with God.

16 अनि यसरी नै हामीप्रति परमेश्‍वरको प्रेम हामी जान्दछौँ र त्यसैमा भर पर्दछौँ। परमेश्‍वर प्रेम हुनुहुन्छ, जो प्रेममा जिउँछ, त्यो परमेश्‍वरमा जिउँछ, र परमेश्‍वर त्यसमा जिउनुहुन्छ।

And, as for us, we know the love which God has for us, and we confide in it. God is love, and he who continues to love continues in union with God, and God continues in union with him.

17 यसरी न्यायको दिनमा हामीमा निर्भयता होस् भनेर प्रेम हाम्रो बीचमा सिद्ध भएको छ; किनकि येशू जस्तो हुनुहुन्छ, हामी पनि यस संसारमा त्यस्तै जिउँछौँ।

Our love will be manifested in all its perfection by our having complete confidence on the day of the Judgement; because just what He is, we also are in the world.

18 प्रेममा डर हुँदैन, तर सिद्ध प्रेमले डरलाई हटाउँछ; किनकि डरको सम्बन्ध दण्डसँग हुन्छ। जो डराउँछ, त्यो प्रेममा सिद्ध भएको हुँदैन।

Love has in it no element of fear; but perfect love drives away fear, because fear involves pain, and if a man gives way to fear, there is something imperfect in his love.

19 हामी उहाँलाई प्रेम गर्छौँ; किनकि पहिले उहाँले हामीलाई प्रेम गर्नुभयो।

We love because God first loved us.

20 यदि कसैले “म परमेश्‍वरलाई प्रेम गर्छु” भन्छ, तापनि आफ्ना दाजुभाइ-दिदीबहिनीहरूलाई चाहिँ घृणा गर्छ भने त्यो झूटो हो; किनकि जसले आफूले देखेका दाजुभाइ-दिदीबहिनीहरूलाई प्रेम गर्दैन, त्यसले आफूले नदेखेको परमेश्‍वरलाई प्रेम गर्न सक्दैन।

If any one says that he loves God, while he hates his brother man, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother man whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

21 अनि उहाँले हामीलाई यो आज्ञा दिनुभएको छ, जसले परमेश्‍वरलाई प्रेम गर्छ, त्यसले आफ्ना दाजुभाइ-दिदीबहिनीहरूलाई पनि प्रेम गर्नैपर्छ।

And the command which we have from Him is that he who loves God must love his brother man also.
