सपन्याह 1
1 अमोनका छोरा, यहूदाका राजा योशियाहको समयमा हिजकियाका जनाति, अमर्याहका पनाति, गदल्याहका नाति, कूशीका छोरा सपन्याहकहाँ आएको परमप्रभुको वचन यही हो ।
The word of the Lord which came unto Zephanyah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedalyah, the son of Amaryah, the son of Chizkiyah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon the king of Judah.
2 “म निश्चय नै यस पृथ्वीबाट सबै कुरा नाश गर्नेछु, परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ ।
I will remove, utterly remove all things from off the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
3 म मानिस र पशु दुवैलाई सर्वनाश गर्नेछु । आकाशका चराहरू, र समुद्रका माछा, दुष्टहरू लगायत ढुङ्गाको रास सबैलाई म नष्ट गर्नेछु । किनभने म मानिस जातिलाई पृथ्वीबाट सखाप पार्नेछु, परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ ।
I will remove man and beast; I will remove the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks together with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the face of the earth, saith the Lord.
4 यहूदा र यरूशलेमका सबै वासिन्दाहरूमाथि म मेरो हात पसार्नेछु । यस ठाउँबाट बालका बाँकी रहेका सबैलाई र पूजाहारीहरुमध्ये मूर्तिपुजकहरूका नामलाई सखाप पार्नेछु,
And I will stretch out my hand over Judah, and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Ba'al from this place, the name of his ministers with his priests;
5 र घरका माथिल्लो भागमा बसेर नक्षत्रहरूको पूजा गर्नेहरू, र ती मानिसहरू जसले परमप्रभुको आराधना गर्छन् र उहाँको शपथ खान्छन् तर आफ्ना राजाको शपथ पनि खान्छन्, तिनीहरूलाई पनि म नाश गर्नेछु ।
And those that bow themselves down on the roofs of houses to the host of heaven; and those that bow themselves down that are sworn [to be true] to the Lord and still swear by Malkom;
6 परमप्रभुलाई पछ्याउन छोडेर उहाँबाट टाढा हुनेहरू, र उहाँको खोजी नगर्ने र उहाँको निर्देशन नखोज्नेहरूलाई पनि म सखाप पार्नेछु ।”
And those that are turned away from following the Lord; and those that have not sought for the Lord, and have not inquired of him.
7 परमप्रभु परमेश्वरको सामु शान्त रहो, किनभने परमप्रभुको दिन नजिकै छ । परमप्रभुले बलिदान तयार पार्नुभएको छ र आफ्ना पाहुनाहरूलाई अलग्गै राख्नुभएको छ ।
Be silent in the presence of the Lord Eternal; for nigh is the day of the Lord; for the Lord hath prepared a slaughter, he hath bidden his invited guests.
8 “परमप्रभुको बलिदानको दिनमा, म राजकुमारहरू र राजाका छोराहरू, र विदेशी पहिरन लगाएका सबैलाई दण्ड दिनेछु ।
And it shall come to pass on the day of the Lord's slaughter, that I will inflict punishment on the princes, and on the king's sons, and on all such as are clothed in garments of a foreign land.
9 त्यस दिन सँघारमा खुट्टा नटेक्नेहरू सबैलाई, र आफ्ना मालिकका घरलाई हिंसा र छलले भर्ने सबैलाई म दण्ड दिनेछु ।
And I will inflict punishment on all those that leap over the threshold on that day, who fill the house of their master with violence and deceit.
10 अनि त्यो दिन यस्तो हुनेछ भनेर परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ । माछा ढोकाबाट कष्टको रुवाबासी, नयाँ टोलबाट विलाप, र पहाडहरूबाट ठुलो धमाकाको आवाज आउनेछ ।
And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord, that there shall be a loud cry of lamentation from the fish-gate, and a wailing from the second, and [that of] a great breach from the hills.
11 ए बजारहरूमा बस्नेहरू, रोओ, किनभने सबै व्यापारीहरू तहस-नहस हुनेछन्, र चाँदीका व्यापारीहरू सखाप पारिनेछन् ।
Wail, ye inhabitants of the mortar-street, for destroyed are all the trading people; cut off are all that were laden with silver.
12 त्यस बेला म बत्तीहरू बालेर यरूशलेमको खोजी गर्नेछु र त्यसको मद्यमा प्रसन्न भएका र आफ्नो हृदयमा ‘परमप्रभुले असल वा खराब केही पनि गर्नुहुनेछैन’ भनेर भन्ने मानिसहरूलाई सजाय दिनेछु ।
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem through with lights; and I will inflict punishment on the men that are at rest on their lees, that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, nor will he do evil.
13 तब तिनीहरूको सबै सम्पत्ति लुटिनेछन्, अनि घरहरू नष्ट हुनेछन्। तिनीहरूले घर बनाए तापनि त्यसमा बस्न पाउँने छैनन्। तिनीहरूले दाखको बोट रोपे पनि त्यसको दाखरस खान पाउने छैनन्।
And their wealth shall become a booty, and their houses shall be made desolate; and they will build houses, but they shall not inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, but they shall not drink their wine.
14 परमप्रभुको त्यो महान् दिन नजिकै छ, नजिक र चाँडै आउँदै छ । परमप्रभुको दिनको आवाज चिच्याई-चिच्याई रोइरहेको योद्धाको झैँ हुनेछ ।
Nigh is the great day of the Lord, it is nigh, and hasteneth greatly, [there is] the noise of the day of the Lord: bitterly crieth there the mighty man.
15 त्यो दिन क्रोधको दिन, संकट र पीडाको दिन, आँधी र विनाशको दिन, अन्धकार र विरक्तको दिन, बादल र घोर अन्धकारको दिन हुनेछ ।
A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anxiety, a day of wasting and desolation, a day of darkness and obscurity, a day of clouds and tempestuous gloom,
16 त्यो दिन किल्ला भएका शहरहरु र उच्च धरहराहरूको विरुद्ध तुरही र चेतावनीको सोरको दिन हुनेछ ।
A day of the cornet and alarm, against the fenced cities, and against the high battlements.
17 किनभने म मानवजातिमाथि संकट ल्याउनेछु, अनि तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको विरुद्ध पाप गरेका हुनाले तिनीहरू अन्धा मानिसहरूझैँ हिँड्नेछन् । तिनीहरूको रगत धुलोझैँ र तिनीहरूका भित्री अङ्गहरू लादीझैँ बाहिर फ्याँकिनेछन् ।
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk about like the blind, because against the Lord have they sinned: and their blood shall be poured out like the dust, and their flesh like the dung.
18 परमप्रभुको क्रोधको दिनमा न त तिनीहरूको चाँदी न तिनीहरूको सुनले तिनीहरूलाई बचाउन सक्नेछ । उहाँको डाहको आगोमा सारा पृथ्वी भस्म हुनेछ, किनभने उहाँले पृथ्वीका सारा वासिन्दाहरूको पूर्ण र भयानक अन्त गर्नुहुनेछ ।”
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord's wrath; through the fire of whose zeal the whole land shall be devoured; for destruction, yea, quite sudden, will he prepare for all the inhabitants of the land.
