जकरिया 1

1 दाराको शासनकालको दोस्रो वर्षको आठौँ महिनामा, अगमवक्ता इद्दोका नाति बेरेक्याहका छोरा जकरियाकहाँ परमप्रभुको यस्तो वचन आय।

[I am] Zechariah, a prophet, the son of Berekiah and grandson of Iddo. When Darius [had been the emperor of Persia] for almost two years, during November [of that year], Yahweh gave me this message:

2 “परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूसँग अत्यन्तै रिसाउनुभएको थियो!

“I was very angry with your ancestors.

3 तिनीहरूलाई भन्, ‘सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: मतिरफर्क!- परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ- र म तिमीहरूतिर फर्कनेछु, सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ ।

So tell this to the people: [I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, say, ‘Return to me, and [if you do that], I will [help] you again.

4 तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूझैँ नहोओ जसलाई अगमवक्ताहरूले यस्तो भनेका थिए, “सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: तिमीहरूका खराब मार्गहरू र दुष्‍ट कामहरूबाट फर्क!” तर तिनीहरूले सुनेनन् र मलाई ध्यान दिएनन् - परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ ।’”

Do not be like your ancestors. [Other] prophets, who have now died, [continually] proclaimed to your ancestors that they should stop doing the evil things that they were continually doing. But they refused to pay attention to what I said.

5 तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरू कहाँ छन्? अगमवक्ताहरू कहाँ छन्, के तिनीहरूयहाँ सधैँ रहन्छन्?

Your ancestors [have died and are now in their graves] [RHQ]. And the prophets did not [RHQ] live forever, [either].

6 तर मैले मेरा दास अगमवक्ताहरूलाई आज्ञा गरेका मेरा वचन र निर्णयहरूले के तिमीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूलाई उछिनेकाछैनन् र? यसैकारण तिनीहरूले पाश्‍चाताप गरे र भने, ‘हाम्रा चाल र कामहरूअनुसारसुहाउँदो सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुले हामीसँग जस्तो व्यवहार गर्ने योजना गर्नुभयो, उहाँले हामीसित त्यस्तै गर्नुभएको छ ।’”

But I punished [IDM] [the people for disobeying] the commands and the decrees which I commanded my servants the prophets [to tell to the people]. Then they (repented/turned away from their evil behavior) and said, ‘The Commander of the armies of angels has done to us what we deserved for our evil behavior, just like he said that he would do.’”

7 दाराको शासनकालको दोस्रो वर्षको एघारौँ महिनाको चौबिसौँ दिन, अर्थात् शेबातको महिनामा, अगमवक्ता इद्दोका नाति बेरेक्याहका छोरा जकरियाकहाँ परमप्रभुको यस्तो वचन आयो,

[Three months later], on February 15, Yahweh gave [another] message to me.

8 “मैले रातमा यस्तो देखेँ! एउटा मानिस रातो घोडामा सवार थिए, र तिनी बेँसीको असारे-फूलका रूखहरूका माझमा थिए, र उनको पछाडि रातो, रातो-खैरो, र सेतो घोडाहरू थिए ।”

During the night [I had a vision. In the vision] I saw an [angel] who was on a red horse. He was in a narrow valley among some myrtle trees. Behind him were [angels on] red, brown, and white horses.

9 मैले भनेँ, “परमप्रभु, यी कुराहरू के हुन्?” अनि मसँग बोलिरहेका स्वर्गदूतले मलाई भने, “यी कुराहरू के हुन्, म तिमीलाई देखाउनेछु ।”

I asked the angel who had been talking to me, “Sir, who are those [angels on the horses]?” He replied, “I will show you who they are.”

10 ती असारे-फूलका रूखहरूबिचमा उभिरहेका मानिसले जवाफ दिए, “यी तिनै हुन् जसलाई परमप्रभुले पृथ्वीभरि घुमफिर गर्नको निम्ति पठाउनुभएको छ ।”

Then the [angel] who had been under the myrtle trees explained. [He said, ] “They are the [angels] whom Yahweh sent [to (patrol/see what is happening in)] the [entire] world.”

11 असारे-फूलका रूखहरूकाबिचमा बसेका परमप्रभुका स्वर्गदूतलाई तिनीहरूले यस्तो जवाफ दिए, “हामी सारा पृथ्वीभरि धुमिरहेका छौँ । हेर्नुहोस्, सारा पृथ्वी शान्त र आराम गरिरहेको छ ।”

Then those angels reported to the angel who was [there] among the myrtle trees, “We have traveled throughout the world, and we have found out that [the army of the emperor of Persia has conquered nations] throughout the world, [and that] those nations are now (helpless/unable to resist his army).”

12 अनि परमप्रभुका स्वर्गदूतले यस्तो जवाफ दिए, सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु, यरूशलेम र यहूदाका सहरहरूप्रति तपाईंले कहिलेसम्म दया देखाउनुहुनेछैन, जससँग तपाईं सत्तरी वर्षदेखि रिसाउनुभएको छ?”

Then the angel asked, “Commander of the armies of angels, how long will you continue to not be merciful to Jerusalem and the [other] towns in Judah? You have been angry with them for 70 years!”

13 मसँग कुरा गरेका स्वर्गदूतसँग परमप्रभुले असल शब्दहरू, सान्त्वनाका शब्दहरूमा बोल्नुभयो ।

[So] Yahweh spoke kindly to the angel who had talked to me, saying things that comforted/encouraged him.

14 यसैकारण मसँग कुरा गरेका स्वर्गदूतले मलाई भने, “उच्‍च सोरमा भन, ‘सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: म यरूशलेम र सियोनको निम्ति अत्यन्तै डाही भएको छु!

Then the angel who had been talking with me said to me, “Proclaim this [to the people of Jerusalem]: The Commander of the armies of angels says that he is very concerned about [the people who live on] Zion [Hill] and [in the other parts of] Jerusalem.

15 सुख-चैनमा बसिरहेका जातिहरूसँग म धेरै रिसाएको छु । जब म तिनीहरूसँग थोरै मात्र रिसाएको थिएँ, तिनीहरूले विपत्तिलाई झन् खराब बनाइदिए ।

But he is very angry with the nations that are [proud and feel] safe. He was only a little bit angry [with the people of Judah], but [he is very angry with the surrounding nations because] they caused [the people of Judah to experience] complete disaster.

16 यसकारण सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: म यरूशलेममा दयासाथ फर्केको छु । मेरो भवन त्यसभित्र निर्माण हुनेछ र यरूशलेममाथि नाप्ने डोरी तन्काइनेछ, सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु घोषणा गर्नुहुन्छ ।’

Therefore, this is what he says: ‘I will again be merciful to [the people of] Jerusalem, and they will rebuild my temple. Men will measure [all the land in] the city [before they start rebuilding the houses].’

17 उच्‍च सोरमा फेरि यस्तो भन, ‘सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु यस्तो भन्‍नुहुन्छ: मेरा सहरहरू फेरि असल कुराहरूले भरिएर पोखिनेछ, र परमप्रभुले फेरि सियोनलाई सान्त्वना दिनुहुनेछ र उहाँले फेरी यरूशलेमलाई चुन्‍नुहुनेछ ।’”

The Commander of the armies of angels [also] said this: ‘Tell the people that [the people in] my towns [in Judah] will soon be very prosperous again, and I will encourage [the people of] Jerusalem, and their city will again be my chosen [city].’”

18 अनि मैले आफ्ना आँखाहरू माथि उठाएँ र चारओटा सीङ देखें!

Then I looked up, and I saw in front of me four [animal] horns.

19 मसँग बोलिरहेका स्वर्गदूतसँग म बोलें, “यी के हुन्?” उनले जवाफ दिए, “यी ती सीङहरू हुन् जसले यहूदा, इस्राएल, र यरूशलेमलाई तितर-बितर पारे ।”

I asked the angel who had been speaking to me, “What are those [horns]?” He replied, “Those horns [represent the armies that] forced [the people of] Jerusalem and [other places in] Judah and Israel to go [to other countries].”

20 अनि परमप्रभुले मलाई चार जना कारीगरहरु देखाउनुभयो ।

Then Yahweh showed me four (craftsmen/men who make things from metal).

21 मैले भनें, “यी मानिसहरू के गर्न आएका हुन्?” उनले जवाफ दिए, “यी ती सीङहरू हुन् जसले यहूदालाई तितर-बितर पारे ताकि कोही मानिसले पनि आफ्नो शिर उठाउन नसकोस् । तर ती कारीगरहरु तिनीहरूलाई त्रासित गर्न, र यहूदालाई तितर-बितर गर्नको निम्ति त्यसको विरुद्ध सीङ उठाएका जातिहरूका सीङहरूलाई पराजित गर्न आएका हुन् ।”

I asked, “What are those men coming to do?” He replied, “[The armies represented by] those horns caused [the people of] Judah to be scattered, with the result that they suffered greatly. But the craftsmen have come to cause those who attacked [IDM] Judah to be terrified and crushed.”
