श्रेष्ठगीत 8
1 प्रेमिका प्रेमीसित बोल्दैः तपाईं मेरी आमाको स्तन चुसेर हुर्कनुभएका मेरा दाजुजस्तै हुनुभए त, मैले तपाईंलाई जहिलेसुकै बाहिर भेट्दा तपाईंलाई चुम्बन गर्नेथिएँ, र कसैले मलाई तुच्छ ठान्नेथिएन ।
I wish that you were my brother who (nursed at/drank milk from) my mother’s breasts [when you were a baby], [because, if you were my brother], if I saw you when you were outside [the house], I could kiss you, and no one would say that my doing that was wrong.
2 मैले तपाईंलाई अगुवाइ गरी मेरी आमाको घरमा लैजानेथिएँ, जसले मलाई सिकाउनुभयो । मैले तपाईंलाई पिउनलाई मसलायुक्त दाखमद्य र मेरा दारिमका रस दिनेथिएँ । प्रेमिका आफूसित बोल्दैः
[No one would object if] I led you to my mother’s house, to where my mother, who taught me [many things], lives. I would like to take you to my mother’s house because I would [like to make love to you] [EUP], [and that would be as delightful as] [MET] juice [squeezed] from pomegranates.
3 उहाँको देब्रे हात मेरो शिरमूनि छ, र उहाँको दाहिने हातले मलाई अङ्गालो हाल्छ । प्रेमिका अरू स्त्रीहरूसित बोल्दैः
You would put your left arm under my head and with your right arm hold me close.
4 हे यरूशलेमका छोरीहरू हो, म तिमीहरूले वाचा बाँधेको चाहन्छु, कि हाम्रो मायाप्रीति खतम नभएसम्म तिमीहरूले अवरोध नगर्नू । यरूशलेमका स्त्रीहरू बोल्दैः
[I would say to] you women of Jerusalem, “Solemnly promise me that you will not disturb us while we are making love until we are ready to quit.”
5 आफ्ना प्रेमीसित अडेस लाग्दै उजाड-स्थानबाट आउँदै गरेको को हो? प्रेमिका प्रेमीसित बोल्दैः मैले तपाईंलाई स्याउको रुखमूनि ब्युँझाएँ । त्यहाँ तपाईंकी आमाले तपाईंलाई गर्भधारण गर्नुभयो । त्यहाँ उहाँलाई सुत्केरी बेथा लाग्यो र तपाईंलाई जन्म दिनुभयो ।
Who is that [woman] who is coming up from the desert, (leaning on/clinging close to) the man who loves her? I woke you up [when you were] under the apple tree at the place where your mother conceived you, which is the same place where she gave birth to you.
6 मलाई तपाईंको हृदय र तपाईंको पाखुरामा एउटा छापजस्तै गरी लगाउनुहोस्, किनकि प्रेम मृत्युजत्तिकै प्रबल हुन्छ । जोसिको भक्ति पातालजत्तिकै निष्ठुर हुन्छ । यसको ज्वाला दन्कन्छ । यो दन्कने आगो हो । यो कुनै पनि आगोभन्दा तातो हुन्छ । (Sheol h7585)
Keep me [close to you], like [SIM] a seal on your heart, [or] like [SIM] a bracelet on your arm. Our love [for each other] is as powerful as death, it is as enduring as the grave. [It is as though] our love [for each other] bursts into flames and burns like a hot fire. (Sheol h7585)
7 उर्लंदो पानीको भेलले प्रेमलाई मेट्न सक्दैन, न त बाढीले यसलाई बगाउन सक्छ । कुनै मानिसले प्रेमको लागि आफ्नो घरको सारा सम्पत्ति दिए तापनि त्यस प्रस्तावलाई बिल्कुलै तुच्छ ठानिन्थ्यो । प्रेमिकाका दाजुहरू आफ्नै बिचमा बोल्दैः
Nothing can extinguish our love [for each other], not [even] a flood. If a man tried to cause a woman to love him by saying he would give her everything that is in his house, she would refuse.
8 हाम्री एउटी सानी बहिनी छिन्, र तिनका स्तनहरू बढिसकेका छैनन् । हाम्री बहिनीलाई विवाहको प्रतिज्ञा गरिएको दिनमा हामी उनको लागि के गर्न सक्छौँ?
We have a younger sister, and her breasts are still small. So this is [RHQ] what we should do for her on the day that we promise [some young man] that he can marry her:
9 उनी पर्खाल भइदिएको भए, हामी उनीमाथि चाँदीको एउटा धरहरा बनाउनेथियौँ । उनी ढोका भइदिएको भए, हामी उनलाई देवदारुका फल्याकहरूले सजाउनेथियौँ । प्रेमिका आफूसित बोल्दैः
If [her chest is flat like] [MET] a wall, we will [decorate it by] putting silver [jewels that are like] [MET] towers on it. Or, if she is [flat like] [MET] a door, we will decorate her with bits/pieces of cedar wood.
10 म एक पर्खाल थिएँ, तर मेरा स्तनहरू अहिले किल्लाका धरहरूजस्तै छन् । त्यसैले म उहाँको दृष्टिमा सन्तुष्ट ल्याउने व्यक्ति भएकी छु । प्रेमिका आफूसित बोल्दैः
My [chest was previously flat like] [MET] a wall, [but now] my breasts are [big] like [SIM] towers. So the one who loves me is delighted with me.
11 बाल-हामोनमा सोलोमनको एउटा दाखबारी थियो । त्यसको रेखदेख गर्न सक्नेहरूलाई उहाँले त्यो दाखबारी अधियाँमा दिनुभयो । हरेकले फलफुलको सट्टा एक हजार चाँदीका सिक्का ल्याउनुपर्थ्यो ।
[King] Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-Hamon, and he rented it to people for them to take care of it. He required each one to pay him 1,000 pieces of silver [each year] for the grapes [that they harvested].
12 मेरो आफ्नै दाखबारी मेरै सामु छ । हे सोलोमन, ती एक हजार सिक्का त तपाईंकै निम्ति हुन्, र दुई सय सिक्का यसको फलफुल हुर्काउनेका निम्ति हुन् । प्रेमी प्रेमिकासित बोल्दैः
[But my body is like] [MET] my own vineyard, and Solomon, I am giving it to you. [You do not need to pay me] 1,000 pieces of silver [to enjoy my body], but I will give 200 pieces of silver to those who take care of me [MET].
13 तिमी बगैँचाहरूमा बस्छ्यौ । मेरा मित्रहरूले तिम्रो सोर सुन्दै छन् । मैले पनि सुन्न पाऊँ । प्रेमिका प्रेमीसित बोल्दैः
You are staying in the gardens and my friends are listening to your voice; [so] allow me to hear it, [too.]
14 हे मेरा प्रेमी, हतार गर्नुहोस्, र सुगन्धित मसलाले भरिएका पर्वतहरूमा बस्ने हरिण वा जवान मृगजस्तै हुनुहोस् ।
You who love me, come [to me] quickly; [run to me] [MET, EUP] as fast as [SIM] a gazelle or young deer runs across [MET] hills of spices.
