रोमी 4
1 तब हामी के भनौँ त? हाम्रा पुर्खा अब्राहामले शरीरअनुसार के पाए त?
So then, what shall we say that Abraham had achieved, who is our father according to the flesh?
2 यदि अब्राहाम कामद्वारा धर्मी ठहरिएका भए, उनले घमण्ड गर्ने कारण हुन्थ्यो, तर परमेश्वरको सामु त होइन ।
For if Abraham was justified by works, he would have glory, but not with God.
3 किनकि धर्मशास्त्रले के भन्छ? “अब्राहामले परमेश्वरमा विश्वास गरे, र यो उनको निम्ति धार्मिकता गनियो ।”
For what does Scripture say? “Abram believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice.”
4 अब जसले काम गर्छ, त्यसको ज्यालालाई अनुग्रहको रूपमा गनिँदैन, तर पाउनुपर्ने कुराको रूपमा गनिन्छ ।
But for he who works, wages are not accounted according to grace, but according to debt.
5 तर त्यसको निम्ति जसले काम गर्दैन, तर त्यसको सट्टा अधर्मीलाई धर्मी ठहराउनुहुनेमा विश्वास गर्छ, त्यसको विश्वासलाई धार्मिकताको रूपमा गनिन्छ ।
Yet truly, for he who does not work, but who believes in him who justifies the impious, his faith is reputed unto justice, according to the purpose of the grace of God.
6 दाऊदले पनि कामविना नै परमेश्वरले धार्मिकता गान्नुभएको मानिसलाई आशिष् घोषणा गर्छन् ।
Similarly, David also declares the blessedness of a man, to whom God brings justice without works:
7 उनले भने, “ती धन्य हुन्, जसका अधर्महरू क्षमा भएका छन् र जसका पापहरू ढाकिएका छन् ।”
“Blessed are they whose iniquities have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered.
8 त्यो मानिस धन्यको हो, जसको विरुद्धमा परमेश्वरले पापको लेखा राख्नुहुन्न ।”
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord has not imputed sin.”
9 तब के यो आशिष् केवल ती खतना भएकाहरूका लागि मात्रै भनिएको हो वा ती खतना नगरिएकाहरूका लागि पनि भनिएको हो? किनकि हामी भन्छौँ, “अब्राहामको निम्ति विश्वास धार्मिकताको रूपमा गनियो ।”
Does this blessedness, then, remain only in the circumcised, or is it even in the uncircumcised? For we say that faith was reputed to Abraham unto justice.
10 त्यसो हो भने, यो कसरी गनियो त? अब्राहाम खतनामा हुँदा वा बेखतना हुँदा? यो खतनामा हुँदा भएको थिएन, तर बेखतनामा हुँदा भएको थियो ।
But then how was it reputed? In circumcision or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 अब्राहामले खतनाको चिन्ह पाए । यो विश्वासको धार्मिकताको छाप थियो, जुन उनी बेखतनाको हुँदा नै पाइसकेका थिए । यो चिन्हको परिणामचाहिँ तिनीहरू बेखतनामै भए तापनि उनी विश्वास गर्ने सबैका पिता भए । यसको मतलब यो हो, कि त्यो धार्मिकता तिनीहरूको निम्ति धार्मिकता गनिनेछ ।
For he received the sign of circumcision as a symbol of the justice of that faith which exists apart from circumcision, so that he might be the father of all those who believe while uncircumcised, so that it might also be reputed to them unto justice,
12 यसको अर्थ यो हो, कि अब्राहाम खतनाबाट आएकाहरूका निम्ति मात्र होइन, तर हाम्रा पिता अब्राहामको कदम पछ्याउनेहरूका निम्ति पनि पिता भए । र उनी बेखतनामा हुँदा नै उनीसँग विश्वास थियो ।
and he might be the father of circumcision, not only for those who are of circumcision, but even for those who follow the footsteps of that faith which is in the uncircumcision of our father Abraham.
13 किनकि अब्राहाम र उनका सन्तानहरूलाई दिइएको प्रतिज्ञा अर्थात् तिनीहरू संसारको उत्तराधिकार हुने प्रतिज्ञा व्यवस्थाद्वारा दिइएको थिएन । बरु, यो विश्वासको धार्मिकताद्वारा थियो ।
For the Promise to Abraham, and to his posterity, that he would inherit the world, was not through the law, but through the justice of faith.
14 किनकि यदि ती व्यवस्थाकाहरू उत्तराधिकारीहरू हुन् भने विश्वासीलाई त रित्तो बनाइयो र प्रतिज्ञालाई रद्द गरियो ।
For if those who are of the law are the heirs, then faith becomes empty and the Promise is abolished.
15 किनकि व्यवस्थाले क्रोध ल्याउँछ, तर जहाँ व्यवस्था छैन त्यहाँ अनाज्ञाकारिता हुँदैन ।
For the law works unto wrath. And where there is no law, there is no law-breaking.
16 यसैले, यो विश्वासद्वारा हुन्छ, ताकि त्यो अनुग्रहद्वारा हुन सकोस् । परिणामस्वरूप, प्रतिज्ञा सारा सन्तानहरूका निम्ति निश्चित छ । अनि यी सन्तानहरूले केवल व्यवस्था जान्नेहरूलाई मात्र होइन, तर ती अब्राहामको विश्वासबाट आएकाहरूलाई पनि समेट्छन् । किनकि उनी हामी सबैका पिता हुन् ।
Because of this, it is from faith according to grace that the Promise is ensured for all posterity, not only for those who are of the law, but also for those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all before God,
17 जस्तो लेखिएको छ, “मैले तिमीलाई धेरै जातिहरूका पिता बनाएको छु ।” अब्राहाम आफूले भरोसा गरेका परमेश्वरको उपस्थितिमा थिए, जसले मरेकालाई जीवन दिनुहुन्छ र अस्तित्वमा नभएका थोकहरूलाई अस्तित्वमा ल्याउन सक्नुहुन्छ ।
in whom he believed, who revives the dead and who calls those things that do not exist into existence. For it is written: “I have established you as the father of many nations.”
18 यी सारा बाहिरी परिस्थितिहरूका बाबजुद पनि भविष्यको निम्ति अब्राहामले परमेश्वरमा दृढतासाथ भरोसा गरे । त्यसैले, उनी “तेरा सन्तानहरू यस्तै हुनेछन्” भनिएअनुसार धेरै जातिहरूका पिता बने ।
And he believed, with a hope beyond hope, so that he might become the father of many nations, according to what was said to him: “So shall your posterity be.”
19 उनी विश्वासमा कमजोर थिएनन् । अब्राहामले बुझे, कि उनको शरीर बालक जन्माउन समर्थ थिएन (किनकि उनी करिब एक सय वर्ष पुगेका थिए) । साराको कोख पनि बालक पैदा गर्न समर्थ थिएन भन्ने पनि उनले स्वीकार गरे ।
And he was not weakened in faith, nor did he consider his own body to be dead (though he was then almost one hundred years old), nor the womb of Sarah to be dead.
20 तर परमेश्वरको प्रतिज्ञाका कारण, अब्राहाम अविश्वासमा रोकिएनन् । बरु, उनलाई विश्वासमा बलियो बनाइयो र उनले परमेश्वरको प्रशंसा गरे ।
And then, in the Promise of God, he did not hesitate out of distrust, but instead he was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
21 परमेश्वरले जे कुरा प्रतिज्ञा गर्नुभएको थियो, त्यो उहाँ पुरा गर्न सक्षम पनि हुनुहुन्थ्यो भनी उनी पूर्ण रूपमा विश्वस्त थिए ।
knowing most fully that whatever God has promised, he is also able to accomplish.
22 त्यसकारण, यो उनको निम्ति धार्मिकता गनियो ।
And for this reason, it was reputed to him unto justice.
23 अब यो केवल उनको भलाइको निम्ति गनिएको थिएन ।
Now this has been written, that it was reputed to him unto justice, not only for his sake,
24 यो हाम्रो निम्ति पनि लेखिएको थियो, जसको निम्ति यो गनिनेछ, हामी जसले हाम्रा येशू प्रभुलाई मृत्युबाट जीवित पार्नुहुनेमा विश्वास गर्छौं ।
but also for our sake. For the same shall be reputed to us, if we believe in him who raised up our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead,
25 यो उहाँ नै हुनुहुन्छ जसलाई हाम्रा अपराधका लागि सुम्पिएको थियो, र हामीलाई धर्मी ठहराउन जीवित पारिएको थियो ।
who was handed over because of our offenses, and who rose again for our justification.
