हितोपदेश 31
1 राजा लमूएलका वचनहरू अर्थात् तिनकी आमाले सिकाएकी ईश्वरवाणीः
THE WORDS OF KING LEMUEL: The prophecie which his mother taught him.
2 हे मेरो छोरो, हे मेरो गर्भको छोरो, हे मेरा भाकलहरूको छोरो, तँ के चाहन्छस्?
What my sonne! and what ye sonne of my wombe! and what, O sonne of my desires!
3 स्त्रीलाई तेरो बल नदे वा राजाहरूलाई नष्ट गर्नेहरूलाई तेरा चालहरू नदे ।
Giue not thy strength vnto women, nor thy wayes, which is to destroy Kings.
4 यो राजाहरूका लागि होइन, हे लमूएल, राजाहरूले दाखमद्य पिउनुहुन्न वा शासकहरूले मदिराको लालसा गर्नुहुन्न ।
It is not for Kings, O Lemuel, it is not for Kings to drink wine nor for princes strog drinke,
5 किनभने तिनीहरूले पिउँदा तिनीहरूले कानुनी आदेश बिर्सेका हुन्छन्, र कष्टमा परेकाहरू सबैका अधिकारलाई वञ्चित गरिदिन्छन् ।
Lest he drinke and forget the decree, and change the iudgement of all the children of affliction.
6 नष्ट भइरहेकाहरूलाई मदिरा दे, र विरहमा भएकाहरूलाई दाखमद्य दे ।
Giue ye strong drinke vnto him that is readie to perish, and wine vnto them that haue griefe of heart.
7 त्यसले पिएर आफ्नो गरिबी भुल्ने छ, र त्यसले आफ्नो कष्टलाई सम्झने छैन ।
Let him drinke, that he may forget his pouertie, and remember his miserie no more.
8 बोल्न नसक्नेहरू र नष्ट भइरहेकाहरूको अधिकारको लागि बोल् ।
Open thy mouth for the domme in the cause of all the children of destruction.
9 आवाज उठा, र जे ठिक छ त्यसको नापअनुसार न्याय गर्, अनि गरिब र खाँचोमा परेकाहरूको अधिकारको निम्ति बोल् ।
Open thy mouth: iudge righteously, and iudge the afflicted, and the poore.
10 कसले सुयोग्य पत्नी पाउन सक्छ? उनको मूल्य रत्नहरूभन्दा बहुमूल्य हुन्छ ।
Who shall finde a vertuous woman? for her price is farre aboue the pearles.
11 उनका पतिको हृदयले उनीमाथि भरोसा गर्छन्, र तिनी कहिल्यै गरिब हुने छैनन् ।
The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall haue no neede of spoyle.
12 उनले तिनका लागि आफ्नो जीवनकालभरि खराब कुराहरू नभई असल कुराहरू गर्छिन्,
She will doe him good, and not euill all the dayes of her life.
13 उनले ऊन र सनपाट रोज्छिन्, अनि आफ्ना हातले खुसी भएर काम गर्छिन् ।
She seeketh wooll and flaxe, and laboureth cheerefully with her handes.
14 उनी व्यापारी जहाजझैँ छिन् । उनले टाढाबाट आफ्नो भोजन ल्याउँछिन् ।
She is like the shippes of marchants: shee bringeth her foode from afarre.
15 उनी राती नै उठ्छिन्, र आफ्नो परिवारलाई भोजन बाँड्छिन्, अनि आफ्ना चाकर्नीहरूलाई तिनीहरूका काम बाँडफाँड गरिदिन्छिन् ।
And she riseth, whiles it is yet night: and giueth the portion to her houshold, and the ordinarie to her maides.
16 उनले सोचविचार गरेर एउटा खेत किन्छिन्, र आफ्नो हातको कमाइले दाखबारी लगाउँछिन् ।
She considereth a field, and getteth it: and with the fruite of her handes she planteth a vineyarde.
17 उनी शक्तिले आभुषित हुन्छिन् र आफ्ना पाखुराहरूलाई बलियो बनाउँछिन् ।
She girdeth her loynes with strength, and strengtheneth her armes.
18 उनको लागि केले मुनाफा ल्याउने छ भनी तिनी अनुमान गर्छिन् । रातैभरि उनको बत्ती निभ्दैन ।
She feeleth that her marchandise is good: her candle is not put out by night.
19 उनले आफ्नो हात चर्खाको डन्डामा राख्छिन्, र आफ्नै औँलाले पिउरी समात्छिन् ।
She putteth her handes to the wherue, and her handes handle the spindle.
20 उनले गरिब मानिसहरूप्रति आफ्नो मुट्ठी खोल्छिन् । उनले खाँचोमा परेकाहरूप्रति आफ्नो हात अगाडि बढाउँछिन् ।
She stretcheth out her hand to the poore, and putteth foorth her hands to the needie.
21 आफ्नो परिवारमा हिउँ पर्दा उनी डराउँदिनन्, किनकि उनको परिवारका सबै सदस्यले सिन्दूरे रङका लुगा लगाउँछन् ।
She feareth not the snowe for her familie: for all her familie is clothed with skarlet.
22 उनले आफ्नो ओछ्यानको लागि तन्ना बनाउँछिन्, र उनले मसिनो गरी बाटेको सुतीको कपडाको लुगा लगाउँछिन् ।
She maketh her selfe carpets: fine linen and purple is her garment.
23 उनका पति सहरको मूल ढोकामा देशका पाका मानिसहरूसित बस्दा सम्मानित हुन्छन् ।
Her husband is knowen in the gates, when he sitteth with the Elders of the land.
24 उनले सुती कपडाका वस्त्रहरू बनाएर बेच्छिन्, र व्यापारीहरूलाई पटुका उपलब्ध गराउँछिन् ।
She maketh sheetes, and selleth them, and giueth girdels vnto the marchant.
25 उनी शक्ति र आदरले आभुषित छिन्, अनि आउने समयको लागि उनी हाँस्न सक्छिन् ।
Strength and honour is her clothing, and in the latter day she shall reioyce.
26 उनले बुद्धिसित आफ्नो मुख खोल्छिन्, र दयाको व्यवस्था उनको जिब्रोमा छ ।
She openeth her mouth with wisdome, and the lawe of grace is in her tongue.
27 उनले आफ्नो परिवारका चालहरूको रेखदेख गर्छिन्, र आलस्यको रोटी खाँदिनन् ।
She ouerseeth the wayes of her housholde, and eateth not the bread of ydlenes.
28 उनका छोरा-छोरीहरू खडा भएर उनलाई धन्यको भन्छन्, र उनका पतिले यसो भन्दै उनको तारिफ गर्छन्,
Her children rise vp, and call her blessed: her husband also shall prayse her, saying,
29 “धेरै स्त्रीहरूले राम्ररी काम गरेका छन्, तर तिमीले तिनीहरू सबैलाई जितेकी छ्यौ ।”
Many daughters haue done vertuously: but thou surmountest them all.
30 सुन्दरता भ्रामक हुन्छ; सौन्दर्य व्यर्थको हुन्छ, तर परमप्रभुको भय मान्ने स्त्रीको नै प्रशंसा गरिने छ ।
Fauour is deceitfull, and beautie is vanitie: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praysed.
31 उनको हातको कमाइ उनलाई नै दिनू, र उनका कामहरूले मूल ढोकामा उनको प्रशंसा गरून् ।
Giue her of the fruite of her hands, and let her owne workes prayse her in the gates.
