1 धेरै पटक हप्की पाएर पनि हठी हुने मानिस निको नहुने गरी एकै क्षणमा नष्ट हुने छ ।
Anyone who goes on stubbornly rejecting many warnings will be suddenly destroyed, without hope of healing.
2 धर्मात्माहरूको वृद्धि हुँदा मानिसहरूले आनन्द मनाउँछन्, तर दुष्ट मानिस शासक बन्दा मानिसहरूले सुस्केरा हाल्छन् ।
When good people are in charge, everybody celebrates; but when the wicked rule, everybody groans.
3 बुद्धिलाई प्रेम गर्नेले आफ्नो बुबालाई प्रसन्न तुल्याउँछ, तर वेश्याहरूको सङ्गत गर्नेले आफ्नो सम्पत्ति नष्ट पार्छ ।
A man who loves wisdom makes his father happy, but one who visits prostitutes throws away his money.
4 राजाले न्यायद्वारा देश सुदृढ बनाउँछ, तर घुस लिनले देशलाई तहसनहस पार्छ ।
A king who rules justly makes the country secure, but one who asks for bribes will destroy it.
5 आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई फुर्क्याउनेले त्यसका खुट्टाका लागि जाल फिजाइरहेको हुन्छ ।
Those who flatter their friends lay a net to trip them up.
6 खराब मानिसको पापमा पासो हुन्छ, तर धर्मात्माले गाएर आनन्द मनाउँछ ।
Evil people are trapped by their own sins, but those who do right sing and celebrate.
7 धर्मात्मालाई गरिबका अधिकारहरू थाहा हुन्छ, तर दुष्टले यस्तो ज्ञान बुझ्दैन ।
Good people care about treating the poor fairly, but the wicked don't think about it at all.
8 खिल्ली उडाउनेहरूले सहरमा आगो लगाउँछन्, तर बुद्धिमान्हरूले क्रोधलाई पाखा लगाउँछ ।
Cynical people can inflame a whole city, but the wise calm angry people down.
9 बुद्धिमान् मानिसले मूर्खसित तर्क-वितर्क गर्दा मूर्खले रिस प्रकट गरेर गिल्ला गर्छ र त्यहाँ चैन हुँदैन ।
When a wise man takes a stupid man to court, there's raging and ridicule, but nothing is settled.
10 रक्तपात गर्नेले खोटरहित मानिसलाई घृणा गर्छ, र सोझाहरूको ज्यान लिन खोज्छ ।
Murderers hate people of integrity, but those who live right try to help them.
11 मूर्खले आफ्ना सबै रिस प्रकट गर्छ, तर बुद्धिमान् मानिसले त्यसलाई थामेर शान्त हुन्छ ।
Stupid people let all their anger out, while wise people quietly hold it in.
12 शासकले झुटो कुरोलाई ध्यान दियो भने त्यसका सबै कर्मचारी दुष्ट हुने छन् ।
A ruler who listens to lies will have nothing but wicked officials.
13 गरिब र थिचोमिचो गर्ने मानिस उस्तै हुन्, किनकि परमप्रभुले नै दुवैका आँखामा दृष्टि दिनुहुन्छ ।
Poor people and their oppressors have this in common: the Lord gives life to all of them.
14 राजाले सत्यताद्वारा गरिबको न्याय गर्यो भने तिनको सिंहासन सदाको लागि स्थिर रहने छ ।
If a king judges the poor fairly, he will have a long rule.
15 लट्ठी र सुधारले बुद्धि दिन्छन्, तर अनुशासनविनाको बालकले आफ्नी आमालाई लाजमा पार्छ ।
Discipline and correction provide wisdom, but a son left undisciplined is an embarrassment to his mother.
16 दुष्ट मानिसहरू शक्तिमा पुग्दा अधर्मको वृद्धि हुन्छ, तर धर्मी मानिसहरू ती दुष्ट मानिसहरूको पतन देख्ने छन् ।
When the wicked are in power, sin increases; but the good will see their downfall.
17 आफ्नो छोरोलाई अनुशासनमा राख्, र त्यसले तैलाई चैन दिने छ; त्यसले तेरो जीवनमा आनन्द ल्याउने छ ।
Discipline your children and they won't give you any worries; they will make you very happy.
18 जहाँ अगमवाणीय दर्शन हुँदैन, त्यहाँ मानिसहरू भाँडिन्छन्, तर व्यवस्था पालन गर्नेचाहिँ धन्यको हो ।
Without a revelation from God, the people go out of control, but those who keep the law are happy.
19 कुराले मात्र नोकरलाई सुधार्न सकिँदैन, किनकि त्यसले बुझे तापनि त्यहाँ कुनै प्रतिक्रिया हुँदैन ।
A servant can't be disciplined by words alone; though they understand, they don't follow what they're told.
20 के आफ्नो वचनमा हतारिएर बोल्ने मानिसलाई तँ देख्छस्? त्यसको लागि भन्दा त मूर्खको लागि बढी आशा हुन्छ ।
Have you seen a man who speaks without thinking? There's more hope for stupid people than for him!
21 जसले आफ्नो नोकरलाई आफ्नो बाल्यावस्थादेखि पुल्पुल्याउँछ, त्यसले अन्त्यमा कष्ट भोग्ने छ ।
A servant indulged from childhood will in the end become unmanageable.
22 रिसाएको मानिसले द्वन्द्व निम्त्याउँछ, र झोँकको मालिकले धेरै पाप गर्छ ।
Angry people stir up trouble, those with short tempers commit many sins.
23 मानिसले घमण्डले त्यसलाई तल खसाल्छ, तर विनम्र आत्मा भएको मानिसलाई आदर दिइने छ ।
If you're proud, you'll be humiliated; but if you're humble, you'll be honored.
24 चोरसित बाँडचुँड गर्नेले आफ्नै जीवनलाई घृणा गर्छ । त्यसले श्राप सुन्छ र केही भन्दैन ।
A thief's partner hates his life; even under the threat of being cursed he can't tell the truth.
25 मानिसको डर पासोजस्तै हो, तर परमप्रभुमाथि भरोसा गर्नेचाहिँ सुरक्षित हुने छ ।
Being afraid of people traps you, but if you trust in the Lord you're safe.
26 शासकको मुहार खोज्नेहरू धेरै छन्, तर मानिसको लागि न्याय परमप्रभुबाट नै आउँछ ।
Many people look for favors from a ruler, but justice comes from the Lord.
27 अन्यायी मानिस धर्मात्माको लागि घृणित हुन्छ, र सोझो चाल भएको मानिस दुष्टको लागि घृणित हुन्छ ।
Good people hate those who are unjust; the wicked hate those who do what's right.
