< हितोपदेश 27 >

1 भोलीको विषयमा घमण्ड नगर्, किनकि एकै दिनमा के आइपर्छ भनी तँलाई थाहा छैन ।
May not you boast in a day tomorrow for not you know what? will it bring forth a day.
2 कसैले तेरो प्रशंसा गरोस्, तेरै आफ्नै मुखले होइन; परदेशीले गरोस्, तेरो ओठले होइन ।
May he praise you a stranger and not own mouth your a foreigner and may not own lips your.
3 ढुङ्गाको बोझ र बालुवाको ओजनलाई विचार गर् । मूर्खको चिढ्याइ ती दुवैभन्दा गरुङ्गो हुन्छ ।
[the] heaviness of A stone and [the] weight of sand and [the] provocation of a fool [is] heavy more than both of them.
4 झोँकको क्रोध र रिसको बाढी छ, तर डाहको सामु को खडा हुन सक्छ र?
[the] cruelty of Rage and [the] flood of anger and who? will he stand before jealousy.
5 गुप्‍त प्रेमभन्दा खुला हप्की बेस हो ।
[is] good Rebuke uncovered more than love hidden.
6 मित्रले दिएको चोट पत्यारलाग्दो हुन्छ, तर शत्रुले तँलाई प्रचुर मात्रामा चुम्बन गर्न सक्छ ।
[are] reliable [the] wounds of [one who] loves And [are] abundant [the] kisses of [one who] hates.
7 पेटभरि खाएको मानिसले महको चाकालाई पनि इन्कार गर्छ, तर भोकाएको व्यक्तिलाई हरेक तितो कुरो मिठो लाग्छ ।
An appetite satisfied it treads down honey and an appetite hungry every bitter [thing] [is] sweet.
8 आफ्नो गुँडबाट भट्किएर निस्केको चरा आफ्नो बासस्थानबाट बरालिएको मानिसझैँ हुन्छ ।
Like a bird [which] wanders from nest its so a person [who] wanders from own place his.
9 अत्तर र धूपले हृदयलाई आनन्द दिन्छ, तर मित्रको मिठास उसको इमानदार सल्लाहबाट आउँछ ।
Oil and perfume it makes glad a heart and [the] sweetness of friend his more than [the] counsel of a person.
10 आफ्नो मित्र र मित्रको बुबालाई नत्याग्, अनि तेरो विपत्तिको दिनमा तेरो भाइको घरमा नजा । टाढाको भाइभन्दा नजिकको छिमेकी उत्तम हुन्छ ।
Friend your (and [the] neighbor of *Q(K)*) father your may not you forsake and [the] house of brother your may not you go on [the] day of calamity your [is] good a neighbor near more than a brother far away.
11 हे मेरो छोरो, बुद्धिमान हो, र मेरो हृदयलाई आनन्दित तुल्या । तब मेरो खिल्ली उडाउनेलाई म जवाफ दिने छु ।
Be wise O son my and make glad heart my so let me bring back [one who] taunts me a word.
12 विवेकी मानिसले सङ्कष्‍ट देखेर आफैलाई लुकाउँछ, तर निर्बुद्धि अगाडि बढ्छ र त्यसैको कारण दुःख भोग्छ ।
A sensible [person] he sees evil he hides himself naive people they pass on they are punished.
13 परदेशीको जमानी बस्‍नेको खास्टो पनि खोस्‍नू, र त्यसले अनैतिक स्‍त्रीको लागि यसो गरेको भए त्यो धरौटी राख्‍नू ।
Take garment his for he stands surety for a stranger and for a foreign [woman] hold in pledge it.
14 कसैले आफ्नो छिमेकीलाई बिहान सबेरै चर्को सोरमा आशिष् दिन्छ भने, त्यो आशिष्‌लाई श्राप ठानिन्छ ।
[one who] blesses Neighbor his - with a voice great in the morning rising early a curse it is reckoned to him.
15 झगडालु पत्‍नी वर्षाको समयमा एकहोरो तपतप चुहुने झरीजस्तै हो ।
A dripping continuous on a day of persistent rain and a wife of (contentions *Q(K)*) she is like.
16 त्यसलाई नियन्त्रण गर्नु बतासलाई नियन्त्रण गर्नुझैँ हो वा दाहिने हातमा तेललाई समात्‍नुझैँ हो ।
[those who] hide Her he hides [the] wind and oil right [hand] his it meets.
17 फलामले फलामलाई उध्याउँछ । त्यसै गरी, मानिसले आफ्नो मित्रलाई उध्याउँछ ।
Iron by iron it grows sharp and each he sharpens [the] face of neighbor his.
18 अञ्‍जीरको रुख गोडमेल गर्नेले यसको फल खाने छ, र आफ्नो गुरुको रक्षा गर्नेले आदर पाउँछ ।
[one who] keeps A fig tree he will eat fruit its and [one who] protects master his he will be honored.
19 जसरी पानीले मानिसको अनुहार प्रतिबिम्बित गर्छ, त्यसै गरी मानिसको हृदयले उसको प्रतिबिम्बित गर्छ ।
Like water the face to the face so [the] heart of the person to the person.
20 जसरी पाताल र एब्बाड्‍डोन कहिल्यै सन्तुष्‍ट हुँदैनन्, त्यसै गरी मानिसका आँखा कहिल्यै सन्तुष्‍ट हुँदैनन् । (Sheol h7585)

21 चाँदी पगाल्न भाँडो र सुन खार्न आरन हुन्छ, अनि मानिसको प्रशंसा हुँदा त्यसको जाँच हुन्छ ।
A crucible for silver and a smelting furnace for gold and a person to [the] mouth of praise his.
22 मूर्खलाई खलमा वा अन्‍नलाई झैँ जाँतोमा हालेर पिँधे तापनि त्यसको मूर्खता त्यसबाट हट्ने छैन ।
If you will pound the fool - in mortar in among the grain with the pestle not it will depart from with him foolishness his.
23 तेरा भेडा-बाख्राहरूको अवस्था राम्ररी थाहा गर, र तेरा गाईवस्तुहरूको बारेमा ध्यान दे ।
Certainly you will know [the] face of flock your set heart your to [the] herds.
24 किनकि धन-सम्पत्ति सदाको लागि होइन । के मुकुट सबै पुस्ताभरि रहन्छ र?
For not [is] for ever wealth and if a crown to a generation (and a generation. *Q(K)*)
25 पराल कहिले हटाइन्छ र नयाँ पालुवा कहिले पलाउँछ अनि डाँडापाखाबाट घाँस कहिले बटुलिन्छ भनी तँलाई थाहा हुनुपर्छ ।

26 ती भेडाहरूले तेरो वस्‍त्र जुटाउने छन्, र बाख्राहरूले खेतको मूल्य जुटाउने छन् ।

27 तँ र तेरो घरानाको भोजनको लागि बाख्रीको दूध उपलब्ध हुने छ र त्यो तेरा नोकर्नीहरूलाई पोषण हुने छ ।
And a sufficiency of - [the] milk of goats for food your for [the] food of household your and life of maids your.
