हितोपदेश 10
1 सोलोमनको हितोपदेश । बुद्धिमान् छोरोले आफ्नो बुबालाई खुसी तुल्याउँछ, तर मूर्ख छोरोले आफ्नी आमामा शोक ल्याउँछ ।
The parablis of Salomon. A wijs sone makith glad the fadir; but a fonned sone is the sorewe of his modir.
2 दुष्टताद्वारा जम्मा गरिएको धन-सम्पत्तिको कुनै मूल्य हुँदैन, तर ठिक गर्नाले तपाईंलाई मृत्युबाट जोगाउँछ ।
Tresouris of wickidnesse schulen not profite; but riytfulnesse schal delyuere fro deth.
3 परमप्रभुले धर्मी व्यक्तिको प्राणलाई भोकै रहन दिनुहुन्न, तर उहाँले दुष्टको इच्छालाई निराश तुल्याइदिनुहुन्छ ।
The Lord schal not turmente the soule of a iust man with hungur; and he schal distrie the tresouns of vnpitouse men.
4 अल्छे हातले मानिसलाई गरिब बनाउँछ, तर परिश्रमी मानिसको हातले धन-सम्पत्ति आर्जन गर्छ ।
A slow hond hath wrouyt nedynesse; but the hond of stronge men makith redi richessis. Forsothe he that enforsith to gete `ony thing bi leesyngis, fedith the wyndis; sotheli the same man sueth briddis fleynge.
5 बुद्धिमान् छोरोले ग्रिष्म ऋतुमा फसल जोहो गर्छ, तर कटनीको समयमा सुत्नेले अपमान ल्याउँछ ।
He that gaderith togidere in heruest, is a wijs sone; but he that slepith in sommer, is a sone of confusioun.
6 परमेश्वरका उपहारहरू धर्मी व्यक्तिको शिरमा पर्छन्, तर दुष्टहरूको मुख हिंसाले ढाकिएको हुन्छ ।
The blessing of God is ouer the heed of a iust man; but wickidnesse hilith the mouth of wickid men.
7 धर्मी व्यक्तिलाई सम्झनेहरूलाई उसले खुसी तुल्याउँछ, तर दुष्टहरूको नामचाहिँ सडेर जाने छ ।
The mynde of a iust man schal be with preisingis; and the name of wickid men schal wexe rotun.
8 संवेदनशील हुनेहरूले आज्ञालाई स्वीकार गर्छन्, तर बकबके मूर्ख नष्ट हुने छ ।
A wijs man schal resseyue comaundementis with herte; a fool is betun with lippis.
9 निष्ठामा हिँड्ने सुरक्षामा हिँड्छ, तर आफ्ना मार्गहरूलाई टेडो बनाउने पक्राउमा पर्ने छ ।
He that goith simpli, goith tristili; but he that makith schrewid hise weies, schal be opyn.
10 द्वेषपूर्ण आँखा झिम्क्याउनेले शोक निम्त्याउँछ, तर बकबके मूर्ख फ्याँकिने छ ।
He that bekeneth with the iye, schal yyue sorewe; a fool schal be betun with lippis.
11 धर्मात्माको मुख जीवनको पानीको फुहारा हो, तर दुष्टहरूको मुखमा हिंसा लुकेको हुन्छ ।
The veyne of lijf is the mouth of a iust man; but the mouth of wickid men hilith wickidnesse.
12 घृणाले द्वन्द्व निम्त्याउँछ, तर प्रेमले सबै कुकर्मलाई ढाकिदिन्छ ।
Hatrede reisith chidingis; and charite hilith alle synnes.
13 बुद्धि विवेकशील व्यक्तिको ओठमा पाइन्छ, तर लट्ठीचाहिँ समझ नभएको व्यक्तिको लागि हो ।
Wisdom is foundun in the lippis of a wise man; and a yerd in the bak of him that is nedi of herte.
14 बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरूले ज्ञान सञ्चय गर्छन्, तर मूर्खको मुखले विनाशलाई नजिक ल्याउँछ ।
Wise men hiden kunnyng; but the mouth of a fool is nexte to confusioun.
15 धनी मानिसको सम्पत्ति उसको किल्लाबन्दी गरिएको सहर हो, तर गरिबहरूको गरिबी तिनीहरूको विनाश हो ।
The catel of a riche man is the citee of his strengthe; the drede of pore men is the nedynesse of hem.
16 धर्मी मानिसको ज्यालाले जीवनमा पुर्याउँछ, तर दुष्टहरूको लाभले पापमा पुर्याउँछ ।
The werk of a iust man is to lijf; but the fruyt of a wickid man is to synne.
17 अनुशासनलाई पछ्याउनेको लागि जीवनको मार्ग छ, तर सुधारलाई इन्कार गर्ने कुबाटोमा लगिन्छ ।
The weie of lijf is to him that kepith chastising; but he that forsakith blamyngis, errith.
18 घृणालाई लुकाउने जोसुकैसित छली जिब्रो हुन्छ, र बदख्याइँ फैलाउनेचाहिँ मूर्ख हो ।
False lippis hiden hatrede; he that bringith forth dispisinge is vnwijs.
19 जहाँ धेरै कुरा गरिन्छ, त्यहाँ अपराधको कमी हुँदैन, तर आफूले बोल्ने कुरामा सतर्क हुनेचाहिँ बुद्धिमानी हो ।
Synne schal not faile in myche spekyng; but he that mesurith hise lippis, is moost prudent.
20 धर्मी व्यक्तिको जिब्रो शुद्ध चाँदी हो, तर दुष्टहरूको हृदयमा थोरै मूल्य हुन्छ ।
Chosun siluer is the tunge of a iust man; the herte of wickid men is for nouyt.
21 धर्मी व्यक्तिको ओठले धेरैलाई तृप्त पार्छ, तर समझशक्तिको कमीको कारण मूर्खहरू मर्छन् ।
The lippis of a iust man techen ful manye men; but thei that ben vnlerned, schulen die in nedinesse of herte.
22 परमप्रभुका असल वरदानहरूले धन-सम्पत्ति ल्याउँछन्, र उहाँले त्यसमा दुःखकष्ट थप्नुहुन्न ।
The blessing of the Lord makith riche men; and turment schal not be felowschipid to hem.
23 दुष्टता मूर्खले खेल्ने खेल हो, तर बुद्धि समझशक्ति भएको मानिसको लागि खुसी हो ।
A fool worchith wickidnesse as bi leiyyng; but `wisdom is prudence to a man.
24 दुष्ट व्यक्तिको डरले त्यसलाई उछिन्ने छ, तर धर्मी व्यक्तिको इच्छा पुरा हुने छ ।
That that a wickid man dredith, schal come on hym; the desire of iust men schalbe youun to hem.
25 दुष्टहरू बितिजाने आँधीबेहरीझैँ हुन्, र तिनीहरू रहँदैनन्, तर धर्मात्माचाहिँ सदा टिकिरहने जग हो ।
As a tempeste passynge, a wickid man schal not be; but a iust man schal be as an euerlastynge foundement.
26 दाँतमा सिर्का र आँखामा धुवाँजस्तै अल्छे आफूलाई पठाउनेहरूका निम्ति त्यस्तै हुन्छ ।
As vynegre noieth the teeth, and smoke noieth the iyen; so a slow man noieth hem that senten hym in the weie.
27 परमप्रभुले भयले जीवनको आयु लम्ब्याउँछ, तर दुष्टको आयु छोटिने छ ।
The drede of the Lord encreesith daies; and the yeeris of wickid men schulen be maad schort.
28 धर्मी मानिसहरूको आशा तिनीहरूको आनन्द हो, तर दुष्ट मानिसहरूको आयु छोटिने छ ।
Abiding of iust men is gladnesse; but the hope of wickid men schal perische.
29 परमप्रभुको मार्गले निष्ठावान् मानिसहरूको रक्षा गर्छ, तर दुष्टको लागि यो विनाश हो ।
The strengthe of a symple man is the weie of the Lord; and drede to hem that worchen yuel.
30 धर्मात्मा कहिल्यै उखेलिने छैन, तर दुष्टचाहिँ पृथ्वी रहने छैन ।
A iust man schal not be moued with outen ende; but wickid men schulen not dwelle on the erthe.
31 धर्मात्माको मुखबाट बुद्धिको फल निस्कन्छ, तर भड्काउने जिब्रो काटिने छ ।
The mouth of a iust man schal bringe forth wisdom; the tunge of schrewis schal perische.
32 धर्मात्माको ओठले स्वीकारयोग्य कुरा जान्दछ, तर दुष्टको मुखले बाङ्गोटिङ्गो कुरा मात्र जान्दछ ।
The lippis of a iust man biholden pleasaunt thingis; and the mouth of wickid men byholdith weiward thingis.
