गन्ती 1

1 सीनैको मरुभूमिमा भेट हुने पालमा परमप्रभु मोशासँग बोल्नुभयो । यो इस्राएलका मानिसहरू मिश्र देशबाट निस्की आएका दोस्रो वर्षको दोस्रो महिनाको पहिलो दिनमा भएको थियो । परमप्रभुले भन्‍नुभयो,

And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:

2 “इस्राएलको हरेक कुलको सबै पुरुषहरूको तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका परिवार-परिवारअनुसार जनगणना गर् । तिनीहरूका नाउँअनुसार गन् । हरेक पुरुषको गणना गर्,

“Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,

3 जो बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका छन् । इस्राएलको निम्ति सिपाहीको रूपमा लड्न सक्‍ने सबैलाई गन् । तैँले र हारूनले तिनीहरूका सशस्‍त्र समूह-समूहअनुसार पुरुषहरूको सङ्ख्याको अभिलेख राख्‍नुपर्छ ।

from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.

4 हरेक कुलको एक जना पुरुषले अर्थात् वंशको मुखियाले आफ्नो वंशको अगुवाको रूपमा तिमीहरूसँग सेवा गर्नुपर्छ ।

And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,

5 हरेक अगुवाले तिनको वंशको निम्ति लड्ने पुरुषहरूको नेतृत्व गर्नुपर्छ । तिमीहरूसँगै रहेर लड्ने अगुवाहरूका नाउँहरू यिनै हुन्ः रूबेनको कुलबाट शदेऊरको छोरो एलीसूर; शिमियोनको

the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;

6 कुलबाट सुरीशद्दैको छोरो शलूमीएल ।

of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;

7 यहूदाको कुलबाट अम्मीनादाबको छोरो नहशोन;

of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;

8 इस्साखारको कुलबाट सूआरको छोरो नतनेल;

of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;

9 जबूलूनको कुलबाट हेलोनको छोरो एलीआब;

of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.

10 योसेफको छोरो एफ्राइमको कुलबाट अम्मीहूदको छोरो एलीशामा; मनश्शेको कुलबाट पदासूरको छोरो गमलिएल;

And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

11 बेन्यामीनको कुलबाट गिदेओनीको छोरो अबीदान;

of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;

12 दानको कुलबाट अम्मीसद्दैको छोरो अहिएजेर;

of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

13 आशेरको कुलबाट ओक्रानको छोरो पगीएल;

of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;

14 गातको कुलबाट दूएलको छोरो एल्यासाप;

of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;

15 नप्‍तालीको कुलबाट एनानको छोरो अहीरा ।”

of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”

16 मानिसहरूबाट चुनिएका पुरुषहरूका नाउँहरू यिनै थिए । तिनीहरूले आ-आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूका कुलको नेतृत्व गरे । तिनीहरू इस्राएलका कुलहरूका अगुवाहरू थिए ।

These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.

17 नाउँअनुसार अभिलेख राखिएका यी पुरुषहरूलाई मोशा र हारूनले लिए, र

Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,

18 यी मानिसहरूसँगै एस्राएलका सबै मानिस दोस्रो महिनाको पहिलो दिनमा भेला भए ।

and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,

19 त्यसपछि बिस वर्ष र त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषले आ-आफ्ना पुर्ख्यौली पहिचान गरे । तिनीहरूले आफू जन्मिएको कुल र परिवारहरूको नाउँ उल्लेख गर्नुपर्थ्यो । त्यसपछि मोशाले सीनैको मरुभूमिमा परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नुभएअनुसार तिनीहरूका सङ्ख्याहरूको अभिलेख राखे ।

just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.

20 इस्राएलका जेठा छोरो रूबेनका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूका अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,

21 रूबनेको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ४६,५०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were forty-six thousand five hundred.

22 शिमियोनका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूका अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,

23 शिमियोनका कुलबाट तिनीहरू ५९,३०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

24 गादका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,

25 गादको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ४५,६५० पुरुष थिए ।

there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

26 यहूदाका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

27 यहूदाको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ७४,६०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.

28 इस्साखारका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,

29 इस्साखारको कुलबाट ५४,४०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.

30 जबूलूनका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

31 जबूलूनको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ५७,४०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

32 योसेफका छोरा एफ्राइमका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

33 एफ्राइमको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ४०,५०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were forty thousand five hundred.

34 मनश्‍शेका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

35 मनश्शेको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ३२,२०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

36 बेन्यामीनका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

37 बेन्यामीनको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ३५,४०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

38 दानका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

39 दानको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ६२,७०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

40 आशेरका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

41 आशेरको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ४१,५०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.

42 नप्‍तालीका सन्तानहरूबाट तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूका आ-आफ्ना कुलहरू र परिवारहरूको अभिलेखबाट लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष वा त्यसभन्दा माथिका सबै पुरुषहरू गनिए ।

Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,

43 नप्‍तालीको कुलबाट तिनीहरू ५३,४०० पुरुष थिए ।

there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

44 मोशा र हारूनले यी पुरुषहरूलाई इस्राएलका बाह्र कुललाई नेतृत्व गर्ने बाह्र पुरुषसँगै गन्ती गरे ।

These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.

45 यसैले लडाइँमा जान सक्‍ने बिस वर्ष र त्यसभन्दा माथिका इस्राएलका सबै पुरुषहरूको हरेकको आ-आफ्ना परिवार-परिवारअनुसार गन्ती गरियो ।

And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were

46 तिनीहरू ६,०३,५५० पुरुष थिए ।

six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.

47 तर लेवीका सन्तानहरूको गन्ती

But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.

48 गरिएन, किनभने परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्‍नुभयो,

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

49 “तैँले लेवीको कुललाई नगन्‍नू वा इस्राएलका कुल मानिसहरूमा नगाभ्नू ।

“Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.

50 बरु, लेवीहरूलाई पवित्र वासस्थानको करारका विधिहरूको हेरचाह गर्न र पवित्र वासस्थानका सबै सरसामान र यसमा भएका सबै कुराको हेरचाह गर्न नियुक्‍त गर्नू ।

But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.

51 पवित्र वासस्थान अर्को ठाउँमा सार्नुपर्दा यसलाई लेवीहरूले उठाउनुपर्छ । पवित्र वासस्थान खडा गर्नुपर्दा लेवीहरूले नै खडा गर्नुपर्छ । पवित्र वासस्थानको नजिक आउने कुनै पनि अपरिचित व्यक्‍तिलाई मार्नू ।

When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.

52 इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले आ-आफ्ना पालहरू टाँग्दा हरेकले तिनीहरूका सशस्‍त्र समुहको झण्डाको नजिकै टाँग्‍नू ।

Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.

53 तथापि, लेवीहरूले तिनीहरूका पाल करारका विधिका पवित्र वासस्थान वरिपरि टाँग्‍नुपर्छ, ताकि इस्राएलका मानिसहरूमाथि मेरो रिस नपरोस् । लेवीहरूले करारका विधिहरूको पवित्र वासस्थानको हेरचाह गर्नुपर्छ ।

Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”

54 इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले यी सबै कुरा गरे । परमप्रभुले मोशाद्वारा आज्ञा गर्नुभएको सबै थोक तिनीहरूले गरे ।

Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
