गन्ती 8

1 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्‍नुभयो,

And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying:

2 “हारूनलाई भन् । 'तैँले सातवटा बत्ती बाल्दा तिनीहरूले सामदानको अघिल्तिर प्रकाश दिनुपर्छ ।'

Speak unto Aaron, and thou shalt say unto him, —When thou lightest up the lamps, over against the front of the lampstand, shall the seven lamps give light.

3 हारूनले यसै गरे । परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नुभएझैँ हारूनले सामदान अघिल्तिर प्रकाश दिनलाई बत्तीहरू बाले ।

And Aaron did so, over against the front of the lampstand, lighted he up the lamps thereof, —As Yahweh commanded Moses,

4 सामदान यस किसिमले बनाइएको थियो र परमप्रभुले मोशालाई यसको निम्ति नमुना देखाउनुभयो । यो आधारदेखि टुप्‍पोसम्म फूलजस्ता कचौरालाई पिटेको सुनको हुनुपर्थ्यो ।

Now, this, was the work of the lampstand—beaten work of gold both in the shaft thereof and in the flowers thereof, was it beaten work, according to the appearance which Yahweh caused to appear unto Moses, so, made he the lampstand.

5 फेरि परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्‍नुभयो,

And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:

6 “लेवीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट ले र तिनीहरूलाई शुद्ध पार् ।

Take the Levites, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —and thou shalt purify them.

7 तिनीहरूलाई शुद्ध पार्न यसो गर्ः तिनीहरूमाथि प्रायश्‍चित्तको पानी छर्किदे । तिनीहरूको पुरै शरीर, तिनीहरूको लुगा धुन लगा र यसरी तिनीहरूलाई शुद्ध पार् ।

And, thus, shalt thou do unto them, to purify them, sprinkle upon them sin-cleansing water, —then shall they, cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and shall wash their clothes and so make themselves pure.

8 त्यसपछि तिनीहरूलाई एउटा बाछो र तेलले मुछेको मसिनो पिठोको अन्‍नबलि ल्याउन लगा । तिनीहरूले पापबलिको रूपमा अर्को एउटा बाछो पनि ल्याऊन् ।

Then shall they take a choice young bullock, with the meal-offering thereof even fine meal overflowed with oil, —and a second choice young bullock, shalt thou take. as a sin-bearer.

9 तैँले लेवीहरूलाई भेट हुने पालको अघि ल्यानेछस् र इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको सारा समुदाय भेला हुनेछन् ।

Then shalt thou bring the Levites near, before the tent of meeting, —and shalt call together all the assembly of the sons of Israel;

10 तैँले लेवीहरूलाई परमप्रभुको सामु ल्याउँदा इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले आफ्नो हात लेवीहरूमाथि राख्‍नुपर्छ ।

and shalt bring the Levites near before Yahweh, —and the sons of Israel shall lean their hands upon the Levites;

11 हारूनले लेवीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको तर्फबाट डोलाइने बलिको रूपमा चढाउनुपर्छ, ताकि तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको सेवाको काम गरून् ।

and Aaron shall offer the Levites as a wave-offering before Yahweh, from among the sons of Israel, —so shall they be for performing the laborious work of Yahweh.

12 लेवीहरूले साँढेहरूमाथि तिनीहरूका हात राख्‍नुपर्छ ।

And, the Levites, shall lean their hands upon the head of the bullocks; then make thou of the one a sin-bearer and of the other an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh, to put a propitiatory-covering over the Levites.

13 तैँले लेवीहरूका प्रायश्‍चित्तको निम्ति एउटा साँढेलाई पापबलिको रूपमा र अर्कोलाई होमबलिको रूपमा चढाउनुपर्छ । तैँले लेवीहरूलाई हारून र त्यसका छोराहरूको सामु ले र तिनीहरूलाई डोलाइने बलिको रूपमा चढा ।

Thus shalt thou cause the Levites to stand before Aaron and before his sons, —thus shalt thou offer them as a wave-offering unto Yahweh;

14 १तैँले लेवीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट यसरी अलग गर् । लेवीहरू मेरा हुन् ।

thus shalt thou separate the Levites out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —thus shall the Levites become mine.

15 त्यसपछि लेवीहरू भेट हुने पालमा सेवा गर्न जानुपर्छ । तैँले तिनीहरूलाई शुद्ध पार्नुपर्छ । तैँले तिनीहरूलाई डोलाइने बलिको रूपमा चढाउनुपर्छ ।

And after that, shall the Levites enter to do the labour of the tent of meeting, —so shalt thou purify them, and offer them as a wave-offering,

16 यसो गर्, किनभने तिनीहरू इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट पूर्ण रूपमा मेरा हुन् । तिनीहरूले गर्भ खोल्ने इस्राएलका सबै सन्तानका पहिले जन्मेका हरेक पुरुष बालकको स्थान लिनेछन् । मैले लेवीहरूलाई आफ्नै निम्ति लिएको छु ।

For, given, given, they are unto me, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, —instead of every firstborn that a mother beareth from among the sons of Israel, have I taken them unto me.

17 इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको पशु र मानिस दुवैबाट पहिले जन्मेकाहरू सबै मेरा हुन् । मैले मिश्र देशमा तिनीहरूका सबै पहिले जन्मेकाहरूलाई लिएको दिन नै मैले तिनीहरूलाई आफ्नै निम्ति अलग गरेँ ।

For mine, is every firstborn among the sons of Israel, among men and among beasts, —on the day when I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt, did I hallow them unto me.

18 मैले लेवीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट सबै पहिले जन्मेकाहरूको सट्टामा लिएको छु ।

Therefore have I taken the Levites, —instead of every firstborn among the sons of Israel;

19 मैले लेवीहरूलाई हारून र त्यसका छोराहरूलाई उपहारको रूपमा दिएको छु । मैले तिनीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूबाट भेट हुने पालमा इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको काम गर्नलाई लिएको छु । मैले तिनीहरूलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका निम्ति प्रायश्‍चित्त गर्नलाई दिएको छु, ताकि तिनीहरू पवित्र स्थानको नजिक आउँदा मानिसहरूमाथि कुनै विपत्ति नआओस् ।

therefore have I given the Levites as a gift unto Aaron and unto his sons, out of the midst of the sons of Israel, to do the laborious work of the sons of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to put a propitiatory-covering over the sons of Israel, —so shall there be among the sons of Israel, no plague, by the coming nigh of the sons of Israel unto the sanctuary.

20 मोशा, हारून र इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका सारा समुदायले लेवीसँगै यो गरे । परमप्रभुले लेवीबारे मोशालाई आज्ञा दिनुभएबमोजिम तिनीहरूले सबै थोक गरे । इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूसँग यसै गरे ।

And Moses and Aaron and all the assembly of the sons of Israel did thus unto the Levites, —according to all that Yahweh commanded Moses as touching the Levites, so, did the sons of Israel unto them.

21 लेवीहरूले आफैलाई शुद्ध पारे र आ-आफ्ना लुगाहरू धोए, अनि हारूनले तिनीहरूलाई परमप्रभुको निम्ति डोलाइने बलिको रूपमा चढाए र तिनले तिनीहरूलाई शुद्ध पार्न तिनीहरूको निम्ति प्रायश्‍चित्त गरे ।

And the Levites accepted the cleansing from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron offered them as a wave-offering before Yahweh, —and Aaron put a propitiatory-covering over them to make them pure.

22 त्यसपछि लेवीहरू हारून र तिनका छोराहरूको अधीनमा रहेर तिनीहरूको काम गर्न भेट हुने पालभित्र गए । यो परमप्रभुले लेवीहरूको बारेमा मोशालाई आज्ञा गर्नुभएअनुसार थियो । तिनीहरूले सबै लेवीलाई यसो गरे ।

And after that, went the Levites in to do their laborious work in the tent of meeting, before Aaron and before his sons, —as Yahweh commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so, did they unto them.

23 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्‍नुभयो,

And Yahweh spake unto Moses saying;

24 “यो सबै पच्‍चिस वर्ष र त्यसभन्दा माथिका लेवीहरूका निम्ति हो । तिनीहरू भेट हुने पालमा सेवा गर्न दलमा सहभागी हुनुपर्छ ।

This is what concerneth the Levites, —from twenty-five years old and upwards, shall they enter to take rank in the host, for doing the laborious work of the tent of meeting;

25 तिनीहरू पचास वर्षको भएपछि यसरी सेवा गर्न छोड्नुपर्छ । त्यस उमेरमा तिनीहरूले सेवा गर्नुहुँदैन ।

but from the age of fifty years, shall they retire from taking rank in the labour, and shall do laborious work no more;

26 तिनीहरूले भेट हुने पालमा सेवा गरिरहने तिनीहरूका भाइहरूलाई सहायता गर्न सक्छन्, तर तिनीहरूले सेवा गर्नुहुँदैन । तैँले लेवीहरूलाई यी कुराहरूमा निर्देशन दिनुपर्छ ।”

yet shall they wait upon their brethren in the tent of meeting, by keeping charge, but laborious work, shall they not perform, —thus, shalt thou do unto the Levites, as touching their charges.
