गन्ती 24
1 परमप्रभुले इस्राएललाई आशिष् दिन नै रुचाउनुहुन्छ भन्ने जब बालामले देखे, तिनी अरू बेलाझैँ टुनामुना गर्नलाई गएनन् । बरु, तिनले मरुभूमितिर हेरे ।
When Balaam saw that the Lord wanted to bless Israel, he chose not to use divination as he had previously. Instead he turned towards the desert,
2 तिनले आँखा खोलेर इस्राएल कुल-कुल गरी आ-आफ्नो छाउनीमा देखे र परमेश्वरका आत्मा तिनीमाथि आयो ।
and as he looked at Israel camped there according to their respective tribes, the Spirit of God came on him.
3 तिनले यो अगमवाणी पाए र भने, “बओरका छोरा बालाम बोल्न लाग्दै छ, जुन मानिसका आँखा खुला छन्, त्यसका वाणी ।
He gave a declaration, saying:
4 तिनले परमप्रभुको वचन सुन्छ र बोल्छ । त्यसले सर्वशक्तिमान्बाट दर्शन प्राप्त गर्छ, जसको सामु त्यसले आँखा खुला राखेर दण्डवत् गर्छ ।
“This is the prophecy of Balaam, son of Beor, the prophecy of a man who sees with eyes are wide open, the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees the vision given by Almighty, who bows down in respect with open eyes.
5 हे याकूब, तिम्रा पालहरू र तिमी बस्ने ठाउँ कति सुन्दर छन्!
How well set out your tents are, Jacob; the places where you live, Israel!
6 तिनीहरू उपत्यकाझैँ, नदी किनारको बगैँचाझैँ, परमप्रभुले रोप्नुभएको एलवाहरूजस्तै र पानी छेउका देवदारुजस्तै फैलिएका छन् ।
They look like wooded valleys, like gardens beside a river, like aloe trees the Lord has planted, like cedars at the water's edge.
7 तिनीहरूका गाग्राहरूबाट पानी बग्छ र तिनीहरूका बिउहरू सुसिंचित छन् । तिनीहरूका राजा अगागभन्दा उच्च छन् र तिनीहरूका राज्यलाई आदर गरिने छ ।
The Israelites will pour out bucketfuls of water; their descendants will have plenty of water. Their king will be greater than King Agag; their kingdom will be glorious.
8 परमेश्वरले तिनलाई मिश्रबाट जङ्गली साँढेको जस्तै सामर्थ्यमा ल्याउनुहुन्छ । तिनले त्यसको विरुद्ध लड्ने जातिहरूलाई निल्छन् । तिनले तिनीहरूका हड्डीहरूलाई टुक्रा-टुक्रा पार्ने छन् । तिनले तिनीहरूलाई आफ्ना वाणहरूले हान्छन् ।
God led them out of Egypt with great power, as strong as an ox, destroying enemy nations, breaking their bones, piercing them with arrows.
9 तिनले सिंह, सिंहनीझै ढुक्छन् । तिनलाई उठाउने कसको आँट छ र? तिनलाई आशिष् दिने सबै आशिषित्् होऊन्; तिनलाई सराप दिने सबै श्रापित होऊन् ।”
They are like a lion that crouches and lies down. They are like a lioness that nobody dares to disturb. Those who bless you will be blessed; those who curse you will be cursed.”
10 बालाकको क्रोध बालामप्रति उर्लियो र तिनले आफ्ना हात ठटाए । बालाकले बालामलाई भने, “मैले मेरा शत्रुहरूलाई सराप दिन तपाईंलाई बोलाएँ, तर तपाईंले तिनीहरूलाई तिन पटकसम्म आशिष् दिनुभयो ।
Balak got angry with Balaam, and beat his fists together. He told Balaam, “I brought you here to curse my enemies, and now look! You keep on blessing them, doing it three times.
11 त्यसैले अहिले नै गइहाल्नुहोस् । मैले तपाईंलाई भव्य इनाम दिन्छु भनेको थिएँ, तर परमप्रभुले तपाईंलाई इनाम पाउनबाट वञ्चित गर्नुभएको छ ।”
Leave right now! Go home! I promised to pay you well, but the Lord has made sure you wouldn't receive any payment.”
12 त्यसपछि बालामले बालाकलाई जवाफ दिए, “तपाईंले मकहाँ पठाउनुभएका सन्देशवाहकहरूलाई भने,
But Balaam said to Balak, “Didn't I already explain to the messengers you sent
13 'बालाकलाई चाँदी र सुनले भरिएको तिनको दरबार नै दिए पनि, म परमप्रभुको बाहिर मैले चाहेको असल वा खराब कुनै पनि कुरा गर्न सक्दिनँ । म परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्नुहुने कुरा मात्र बताउन सक्छु ।' के मैले तिनीहरूलाई यो कुरा भनेको थिइनँ र?
that even if you gave me your whole palace full of silver and gold, I couldn't do anything I wanted or disobey the command of the Lord my God in any way? I can only say what the Lord tells me.
14 त्यसैले अब म मेरा मानिसहरूकहाँ फर्केर जाने छु । तर यी मानिसहरूले तपाईंका मानिसहरूलाई आगामी दिनहरूमा के गर्ने छन् पहिले तपाईंलाई चेताउनी दिन दिनुहोस् ।”
Listen! I'm going back home now to my own people, but first let me warn you what these Israelites are going to do to your people in the future.”
15 बालामले अगमवाणी गर्न थाले, “बओरका छोरा बालाम भन्छ, त्यो मानिस जसको आँखा खुला छन्, त्यसको वाणी ।
Then Balaam gave a declaration, saying, “This is the prophecy of Balaam, son of Beor, the prophecy of a man whose eyes are wide open
16 यो परमेश्वरको वचन सुन्नेको व्यक्तिको अगमवाणी हो, जससँग सर्वोच्चको ज्ञान छ, जससँग सर्वशक्तिमान्बाट आएको दर्शन छ, जसले उहाँको सामु खुला आँखाले दण्डवत् गर्छ ।
the prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who receives knowledge from the Most High, who sees the vision given by Almighty, who bows down in respect with open eyes.
17 म उहाँलाई देख्छु, तर उहाँ अहिले यहाँ हुनुहुन्न । म उहाँलाई हेर्छु, तर उहाँ नजिक हुनुहुन्न । याकूबबाट एउटा तारा निस्की आउने छ र इस्राएलबाट राजदण्डको उदय हुने छ । तिनले मोआबका अगुवाहरूलाई चकनाचुर पार्ने छन् र शेथका सबै सन्तानलाई नष्ट पार्नेछन् ।
I see him, but this isn't now. I observe him, but this isn't close at hand. In the future a leader like a star will come from Jacob, a ruler with a scepter will come to power from Israel. He will crush the heads of the Moabites, and destroy all the people of Seth.
18 त्यसपछि एदोम इस्राएलको सम्पत्ति बन्ने छ र सेइर इस्राएलको अधीनमा हुने छ इस्राएलका शत्रुहरू जसलाई इस्राएलले बलले जित्नेछ ।
The country of Edom will be conquered, his enemy Seir will be conquered, and the Israelites will be victorious.
19 याकूबबाट एउटा राजा आउने छ जसले शासन गर्ने छ र तिनले तिनीहरूका सहरहरूका बाँचेकाहरूलाई नष्ट पार्ने छन् ।”
A ruler from Jacob will come and destroy those left in the city.”
20 त्यसपछि बालामले अमालेकतिर हेरे र अगमवाणी गर्न थाले, “अमालेक एक पटक जातिहरूमध्ये सबैभन्दा ठुलो थियो, तर त्यसको अन्त विनाश हुने छ ।”
Balaam turned his attention to the Amalekites and gave this declaration about them, saying, “Amalek was first among the nations, but they will end up being destroyed.”
21 अनि बालामले केनीहरूतिर हेरे र अगमवाणी गर्न थाले, “तिमीहरू बस्ने ठाउँ बलियो छ र तिमीहरूका गुँड चट्टान हुने छ ।
He turned his attention to the Kenites and gave this declaration about them, saying, “Where you live is safe and secure, like a nest on a cliff-face.
22 तथापि अश्शूरले तिमीहरूलाई कैद गरेर लाँदा तिमीहरू आगोले नष्ट हुने छौ ।
But Kain will be burned down when Assyria conquers you.”
23 बालामले तिनको अन्तिम अगमवाणी भने, “धिक्कार! परमेश्वरले यसो गर्नुहुँदा कोचाँहि बाँच्छ?
Then Balaam gave another declaration, saying, “It's a tragedy! Who can survive when God does this?
24 कित्तीमको समुद्री तटबाट जहाजहरू आउने छन्; तिनीहरूले अश्शूरलाई आक्रमण गर्नेछन् र एबेरमाथि विजय हासिल गर्ने छन्, तर तिनीहरू अन्त पनि विनाशमा नै हुने छन् ।
Ships will be sent from Cyprus to attack Assyria and Eber, but they too will be permanently destroyed.”
25 त्यसपछि बालाम उठे र हिँडे । तिनी आफ्नै घरतिर फर्के र बालाक पनि गए ।
Then Balaam left and returned to his own country, and Balak left too.
