गन्ती 17
1 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो,
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
2 “इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई भन् र तिनीहरूबाट हरेक कुलको निम्ति एउटा-एउटा गरी बाह्रवटा लहुरो ले । हरेक मानिसको लहुरोमा आ-आफ्नो नाउँ लेख् ।
“Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and take rods from them, one for each fathers’ house, of all their princes according to their fathers’ houses, twelve rods. Write each man’s name on his rod.
3 लेवीको लहुरोमा तैँले हारूनको नाउँ लेख्नुपर्छ । आ-आफ्नो कुलबाट हरेक अगुवाको निम्ति एउटा लहुरो हुनुपर्छ ।
You shall write Aaron [Light-bringer]’s name on the rod of Levi [United with]; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.
4 तैँले ती लहुरोहरूलाई करारको गवाही-पाटीको सामु भेट हुने पालमा राख्नुपर्छ, जहाँ मैले तँलाई भेट्छु ।
You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.
5 मैले चुनेको मानिसको लहुरो टुसाउनेछ । म इस्राएलका मानिसको गनगन बन्द गराउनेछु, जुन तेरो विरुद्ध भइरहेको छ ।”
It shall happen, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel [God prevails], which they murmur against you, cease from me.”
6 यसैले मोशाले मानिसहरूलाई भने । सबै कुलनायकले हरेक अगुवाको निम्ति एउटा लहुरो दिए । कुलहरूबाट छानेर बाह्रवटा लहुरो तिनलाई दिइयो । तिनीहरूका माझमा हारूनको लहुरो पनि थियो ।
Moses [Drawn out] spoke to the children of Israel [God prevails]; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods. Aaron [Light-bringer]’s rod was among their rods.
7 त्यसपछि मोशाले लहुरोहरूलाई गवाही-पाटीको पालमा परमप्रभुको सामु राखे ।
Moses [Drawn out] laid up the rods before Adonai in the Tent of the Testimony.
8 अर्को दिन मोशा गवाही-पाटी भएको पालमा गए, हेर! लेवी कुलका हारूनको लहुरोमा कोपिला लागेको रहेछ । यसमा कोपिला लगेको थियो, फूल फुलेको थियो र हाडे-बदाम पाकेको थियो!
On the next day, Moses [Drawn out] went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron [Light-bringer]’s rod for the house of Levi [United with] had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.
9 मोशाले ती सबै लहुरालाई इस्राएलका मानिसको सामु ल्याए र सबैले आ-आफ्नो लहुरो लिए ।
Moses [Drawn out] brought out all the rods from before Adonai to all the children of Israel [God prevails]. They looked, and each man took his rod.
10 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो, “हारूनको लहुरो गवाही-पाटीको सामु राख् । यसलाई विद्रोह गर्ने मानिसहरूको विरुद्ध दोषको चिन्हको रूपमा राख् । यसरी तैँले मेरो विरुद्ध तिनीहरूको गनगन अन्त गर्नेछस् नत्रता तिनीहरू मर्नेछन् ।”
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Put back the rod of Aaron [Light-bringer] before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die.”
11 मोशाले परमप्रभुले आज्ञा गर्नुभएबमोजिम गरे ।
Moses [Drawn out] did so. As Adonai enjoined him, so he did.
12 इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले मोशालाई भने, “यहाँ हामी मर्नेभयौँ! हामी सबै नष्ट हुनेभयौ!
The children of Israel [God prevails] spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying, “Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!
13 परमप्रभुको पवित्र वासस्थान नजिक आउने हरेक मर्ने छ । के हामी पनि मर्नुपर्छ?”
Everyone who keeps approaching Adonai’s tabernacle, dies! Will we all perish?”
