मलाकी 2

1 ए पुजारी हो, यो आज्ञा तिमीहरूका निम्ति हो ।

Now this command is for you priests!

2 “यदि मेरो नाउँलाई आदर गर्न तिमीहरूले सुन्दैनौ र त्यो हृदयमा राख्दैनौ भने, म तिमीहरूकहाँ सराप पठाउनेछु, र तिमीहरूका आशिषलाई पनि सराप दिनेछु, सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ । साँच्‍चै, मैले तिनीहरूलाई सराप दिइसकेको छु, किनभने तिमीहरूले मेरो आज्ञालाई आफ्नो हृदयमा राखेनौ ।

If you will not listen and if you will not take it to heart to honor me, says the Lord Almighty, then I will place a curse on you and I will curse your blessings—in fact I have already cursed them because you haven't taken what I said to heart.

3 हेर, म तिमीहरूका सन्ततिलाई हप्काउन जाँदैछु, र म तिमीहरूका अनुहारमा गोबर छरिदिनेछु, तिमीहरूका चाड-पर्वहरूको गोबर, र त्योसँगै त्यसले तिमीहरूलाई लैजानेछ ।

Watch out! I am going to penalize your descendants. I will spread manure on your faces from the animals you sacrifice, the manure from your religious festivals, and you will be thrown out with it.

4 यो आज्ञा मैले नै तिमीहरूलाई दिएको हुँ, र मेरो करार लेवीसँग रहिरहनेछ भनेर तिमीहरूले जान्‍नेछौ,” सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ ।

Then you will know that I sent you this command so that my agreement with Levi can continue, says the Lord Almighty.

5 “त्यससँग मेरो करार जीवन र शान्तिको थियो, र मैले ती तिनीहरूलाई दिएँ । मैले त्यसलाई डर दिएँ, र त्यसले मेरो भय राख्यो, मेरो नाउँको भयमा त्यो उभियो ।

My agreement with him was one of life and peace, which I gave to him, and respect—he respected me. He stood in awe of me.

6 त्यसको मुखमा साँचो शिक्षा थियो, र त्यसको ओठमा कुनै झुट पाइएन । त्यो मसँग शान्ति र सत्यतामा हिँड्यो र त्यसले धेरैलाई पापबाट टाढा राख्यो ।

He taught the people the truth; nothing in his teaching was false. He walked with me in peace and did what was right, and he helped many to turn way from sin.

7 किनभने पूजारीको ओठमा ज्ञान हुनुपर्छ र मानिसहरूले त्यसको मुखबाट शिक्षा खोज्नुपर्छ, किनभने त्यो सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुको समाचारवाहक हो ।

A priest should explain the truth about God, they should go to him to be taught, for he is the Lord Almighty's messenger.

8 तर तिमीहरू साँचो मार्गबाट टाढा गएका छौ । तिमीहरूका शिक्षाले धेरैलाई ठेस लागेको छ । तिमीहरूले लेवीको करारलाई तोडेका छौ,” सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ ।

But you have turned from my way. You have made many people to fall into sin. By your teaching you have broken the agreement with Levi, says the Lord Almighty.

9 “यसैले मैले पनि तिमीहरूलाई सारा मानिसहरूका अगाडि तुच्छ र निंदनीय बनाएको छु, किनभने तिमीहरू मेरा मार्गमा हिँडेका छैनौ, तर शिक्षा दिइएका कुराहरूमा पक्षपात गरेका छौ ।”

So I have destroyed any respect you had, and humiliated you before all the people. For you have not kept my ways, and have shown favoritism in what you teach.

10 के हामीहरू सबैका निम्ति एउटै पिता हुनुहुन्‍न र? के एउटै परमेश्‍वरले हामीलाई बनाउनुभएको होइन र? हामीहरू हरेक किन आफ्नो दाजुभाइको विरुद्धमा विश्‍वासहीन हुन्छौँ, र हाम्रा पितापुर्खाका नाउँलाई अपमानित गर्दछौ?

Don't we all have one Father? Didn't one God create us? So why are we unfaithful to each other, violating the agreement made by our forefathers?

11 यहूदा विश्‍वासहीन भएको छ । इस्राएल र यरूशलेममा घिनलाग्दो काम भएको छ । परमप्रभुले प्रेम गर्नुहुने पवित्र ठाउँलाई यहूदाले अपवित्र बनाएको छ, र त्यसले पराई ईश्‍वरकी छोरीसँग विहे गरेको छ ।

The people of Judah have been unfaithful and have committed a disgusting sin in Israel and Jerusalem. For the men of Judah have defiled the Lord's Temple (which he loves) by marrying women who worship idols.

12 यसो गर्ने मानिस, जो बिउँझेको छ र जसले उत्तर दिन्छ, त्यसले सेनाहरूका परमप्रभुकहाँ भेटी अर्पण गर्ने भए तापनि, परमप्रभुले त्यसलाई याकूबका पालहरूबाट बहिष्कृत गरून् ।

May the Lord expel the family of any man who does this from the nation of Israel! May there be no one left to bring an offering to the Lord Almighty!

13 तिमीहरू यसो पनि गर्दछौ: तिमीहरू परमप्रभुको वेदीलाई आँसु, रोदन र विलापले ढाक्छौ, किनभने तिमीहरूका हातका भेटीलाई उहाँले कृपासित ग्रहण गर्नुहुन्‍न, न त त्योतिर ध्यान नै दिनुहुन्छ ।

Something else you do is to pour out your tears on the Lord's altar weeping and moaning because he no longer pays attention to your offerings or doesn't want to accept them.

14 तर तिमीहरू भन्छौ, “उहाँले किन गर्नुहुन्‍न?” किनभने परमप्रभु तिमीहरू र तिमीहरूका जवानीपनकी पत्‍नीबिच साक्षी हुनुहुन्थ्यो, र त्यो तेरी जीवनसाथी र करारअनुसार तेरी पत्‍नी हुँदाहुँदै पनि त्यसको विरुद्ध तिमीहरू विश्‍वासहीन भयौ ।

“Why not?” you ask. Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife exchanged when you were young. You were unfaithful to her, your wife and partner joined to you by marriage contract.

15 के उहाँले आफ्नो आत्मामा तिनीहरूलाई एक बनाउनुभएको होइन र? त्यसोभए किन उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई एक बनाउनुभयो? किनभने उहाँले परमेश्‍वरको सन्तान खोज्नुभएको थियो । त्यसैले आफैँलाई आफ्नो आत्मामा रखवाली गर र आफ्नो जवानी अवस्थाकी पत्‍नीसँग अविश्‍वासी नहोओ ।

Did he not make you one, and give some of his Spirit to you? And what does he want? Children of God. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young.

16 “किनभने म सम्बन्धविच्छेदलाई घृणा गर्दछु,” इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वर, परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ, “र त्यसलाई पनि जसले आफ्नो वस्‍त्रलाई हिंसाले ढाक्दछ,” सेनाहरूका परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ । “यसैकारण आफैँलाई आत्मामा रखवाली गर र विश्‍वासहीन नहोओ ।”

For I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel, for it's a violent attack on the wife, says the Lord Almighty. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful.

17 तिमीहरूले आफ्ना बोलीले परमप्रभुलाई थकित तुल्याका छौ । तर तिमीहरू भन्छौ, “हामीले उहाँलाई कसरी थकित तुल्याएका छौँ?” यसो भनेर, “दुष्‍ट काम गर्ने सबै परमप्रभुको दृष्‍टिमा असल छ, र उहाँ तिनीहरूमा खुशी हुनुहुन्छ,” वा “न्यायका परमेश्‍वर कहाँ हुनुहुन्छ?”

You have worn the Lord out with your words. “How have we worn him out?” you ask. By saying everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord and he is happy with them, or by asking, where is the Lord's justice?
