लुका 23
1 तिनीहरूका सबै दल उठे, र येशूलाई पिलातसका सामु ल्याए ।
Then the whole assembly arose and led Jesus to Pilate.
2 तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई यसो भन्दै दोष लगाउन सुरु गरे, “हामीले यस मानिसलाई हाम्रो देश भाँड्दै गरेको, कैसरलाई कर तिर्न मनाही गरेको र ऊ आफैँलाई ख्रीष्ट राजा भनेको भेट्टायौँ ।”
They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man perverting the nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, declaring himself to be Christ, a king.”
3 पिलातसले उहाँलाई यसो भन्दै सोधे, “के तिमी यहूदीहरूका राजा हौ?” येशूले तिनलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो र भन्नुभयो, “तपाईंले नै त्यसो भन्दै हुनुहुन्छ ।”
So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are yoʋ the king of the Jews?” Jesus answered him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
4 पिलातसले मुख्य पुजारीहरू र भिडलाई भने, “यी मानिसमा म कुनै पनि दोष भेट्टाउँदिनँ ।”
Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this man.”
5 तर तिनीहरूले जबरजस्ती भनिरहेका थिए, “यसले गालीलबाट सुरु गरेर सारा यहूदाभरि यस ठाँउसम्म मानिसहरूलाई भड्काउँदै छ ।”
But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
6 त्यसकारण जब पिलातसले यो सुने, तब उनले उहाँ गालीली हुनुहुन्थ्यो कि भनी सोधे ।
When Pilate heard mention of Galilee, he asked whether the man was a Galilean.
7 जब उनले उहाँ त हेरोदको अधिकारमुनि हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने थाहा पाए, उनले येशूलाई हेरोदकहाँ पठाए जो ती दिनहरूमा यरूशलेममा नै थिए ।
And when he found out that Jesus was under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him over to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem in those days.
8 जब हेरोदले येशूलाई देखे, उनी धेरै खुसी भए, किनकि उनले उहाँलाई धेरै अगाडिदेखि हेर्ने इच्छा गरेका थिए । उनले उहाँको बारेमा धेरै कुराहरू सुनेका थिए र उहाँद्वारा केही आश्चर्यकर्महरू गरिएको हेर्न चाहन्थे ।
When Herod saw Jesus he was very glad, for he had long desired to see him, because he had heard many things about him and was hoping to see him perform some sign.
9 हेरोदले येशूलाई धेरै शब्दहरूमा प्रश्न गरे, तर येशूले उनलाई कुनै पनि जवाफ दिनुभएन ।
So he questioned him at great length, but Jesus gave him no answer.
10 मुख्य पुजारीहरू र शास्त्रीहरूले येशूलाई जोड्दार दोष लगाउँदै उभिएका भए ।
Meanwhile, the chief priests and the scribes stood there, vehemently accusing him.
11 हेरोदले आफ्ना सिपाहीहरूसँग मिली उहाँको अपमान गरे र उहाँलाई गिल्ला गरे अनि असल पोशाक पहिर्याएर येशूलाई पिलातसकहाँ फर्काइदिए ।
Herod also treated him with contempt and mocked him, as did his soldiers. Then, after dressing Jesus in fine clothing, Herod sent him back to Pilate.
12 हेरोद र पिलातस त्यसै दिनदेखि एक-अर्कासँग साथी भए (त्यस अगि उनीहरू शत्रु थिए) ।
That very day Pilate and Herod became friends with one another; previously they had been enemies.
13 तब पिलातसले मुख्य पुजारीहरू र शासकहरू र मानिसहरूका भिडलाई बोलाए,
Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
14 र तिनीहरूलाई भने, “तिमीहरूले यी मानिसलाई खराब काम गर्न मानिसहरूलाई अगुवाइ गर्ने व्यक्तिको रूपमा मकहाँ ल्यायौ, र हेर, तिमीहरूकै सामुन्ने यी मानिसलाई मैले प्रश्न गरेँ । तर तिमीहरूले लगाएको आरोपको दोष मैले यी मानिसमा भेट्टाइनँ ।”
and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people. And behold, after examining him before you, I have found no fault in this man with respect to the accusations you are making against him,
15 हेरोदले पनि दोषी भेट्टाएनन्, किनकि उनले हामीकहाँ फिर्ता पठाए । र हेर, यिनले मृत्युदण्ड पाउनेयोग्य कुनै काम गरेका छैनन् ।
and neither has Herod, for I sent you to him. Clearly he has done nothing that deserves death.
16 यसकारण म यिनलाई सजाय दिनेछु र छोडिदिन्छु ।”
Therefore I will have him flogged and then release him.”
17 अब चाडको समयमा पिलातसले यहूदीका निम्ति एक जना कैदीलाई छोडिदिनुपर्थ्यो ।
Now each year at the feast Pilate was obligated to release one prisoner for the people.
18 तर तिनीहरू एकैसाथ कराउँदै यसो भने, “यस मानिसलाई हाम्रा बिचबाट हटाउनुहोस् र हाम्रा निम्ति बारब्बालाई छोडिदिनुहोस् ।”
So they all cried out together, “Away with this man, and release for us Barabbas!”
19 बारब्बा सहरमा विद्रोह र हत्याको कारण गर्दा झ्यालखानमा राखिएको एक मानिस थिए ।
(This was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection that had taken place in the city, and for murder.)
20 येशूलाई छोड्ने इच्छा गरी फेरि पिलातसले तिनीहरूलाई सम्बोधन गरे ।
Wishing to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,
21 तर तिनीहरूले चिच्च्याउँदै यसो भने, “त्यसलाई क्रुसमा झुन्ड्याओ, क्रुसमा झुन्ड्याओ ।”
but they kept on shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!”
22 पिलातसले तेस्रो पटक तिनीहरूलाई भने, “किन, यो मानिसले के दुष्ट काम गरेको छ र? मैले यिनमा मृत्युदण्ड दिने कुनै दोष पाइनँ । यसकारण, यसलाई सजाय दिएर छोडिदिन्छु ।”
A third time he said to them, “Why? What evil has he done? I have found in him no grounds for death. So I will have him flogged and then release him.”
23 तर तिनीहरू उच्च स्वरमा येशूलाई क्रुसमा टाँग्ने माग गर्दै लागि परे । र पिलातसलाई उनीहरूका आवाजले विश्वस्त तुल्यायो ।
But they continued insistently with loud voices, demanding that he be crucified, and their voices prevailed, along with those of the chief priests.
24 त्यसकारण, पिलातसले उनीहरूका माग पुरा गरिदिने निर्णय गरे ।
So Pilate rendered his decision that their demand be granted.
25 त्यसैले तिनीहरूले माग गरेअनुसार पिलातसले बारब्बालाई छोडिदिए जसद्वारा सहरमा हत्या र आतङ्क भएको थियो, तर येशूलाई तिनीहरूको इच्छाअनुसार सुम्पिदिए ।
He released the man they had been asking for, who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, but he handed Jesus over to their will.
26 तिनीहरूले उहाँलाई टाढा लजाँदै गर्दा गाउँबाट आउँदै गरेको कुरेनीका सिमोनलाई समातेर येशूलाई पछ्याउदै उहाँको क्रुस बोक्न लगाए ।
As the soldiers led him away, they took hold of Simon, a Cyrenian man who was coming in from the countryside, and they laid on him the cross, forcing him to carry it behind Jesus.
27 मानिसहरूको एउटा ठुलो भिड, उहाँका लागि विलाप गर्ने र दुःखित हुने स्त्रीहरूले पनि उहाँलाई पछ्याइरहेका थिए ।
A great multitude of people followed along behind, including women who were mourning and lamenting for Jesus.
28 तर तिनीहरूतिर फर्केर येशूले भन्नुभयो, “यरूशलेमका छोरीहरू हो, मेरो लागि नरोऊ, तर आफ्नै निम्ति र आफ्ना छोराछोरीहरूका निम्ति रोओ ।
But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 किनभने हेर, दिनहरू आउँदै छन् र तिनीहरूले भन्नेछन्, ‘हे बाँझीहरू, नजन्माउने कोखहरू, दूध नचुसाउने स्तनहरू धन्यका हुन् ।’
For behold, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that have not given birth, and the breasts that have not nursed!’
30 त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले पहाडहरूलाई भन्न थाल्नेछन्, ‘हामीमाथि खस,’ र डाँडाहरूलाई भन्नेछन्, ‘हामीलाई छोप ।’
Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’
31 यदि रुख हरियो हुँदै तिनीहरूले यस्ता कुराहरू गर्छन् भने, सुख्खा हुँदा के गर्लान्?”
For if they do these things when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32 उहाँसँगै अरू दुई जना अपराधीलाई पनि मृत्युदण्ड दिनलाई लगिएको थियो ।
Now two others, who were criminals, were also being led away to be put to death with Jesus.
33 जब तिनीहरू खप्परे भन्ने ठाँउमा आए, त्यहाँ तिनीहरूले उहाँ र ती अपराधीहरूमध्ये एउटालाई उहाँको दायाँतर्फ र अर्कालाई बायाँतर्फ क्रुसमा टाँगे ।
When they came to the place called the Skull, the soldiers crucified him there along with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.
34 येशूले भन्नुभयो, “हे पिता, तिनीहरूलाई क्षमा गर्नुहोस्, किनभने तिनीहरूले के गर्दै छन् सो जान्दैनन् ।” र तिनीहरूले उहाँका वस्त्रहरू भाग गर्नलाई चिट्ठा हाले ।
But Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Then they cast lots to divide his garments.
35 मानिसहरूले उभिएर हेरिरहेका थिए, जहाँ शासकहरूले पनि उहाँलाई यसो भन्दै गिल्ला हेरिरहेका थिए, “यो परमेश्वरको चुनिएको ख्रीष्ट हो भने यसले अरूलाई त बचायो, अब आफैँलाई बचाओस् ।”
The people stood there looking on, and the rulers who were with them ridiculed him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ, the Chosen One of God.”
36 अनि सिपाहीहरूले पनि सिर्का दिँदै यसो भनी गिल्ला गरे,
The soldiers also mocked him, coming up to him and offering him sour wine,
37 “यदि तिमी यहूदीहरूका राजा हौ भने, आफैँलाई बचाओ ।”
saying, “If yoʋ are the king of the Jews, save yoʋrself!”
38 “यो यहूदीहरूका राजा हो भनी” त्यहाँ उहाँको माथि एउटा चिह्न पनि थियो ।
There was also an inscription over him written in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew, which read: “This is the King of the Jews.”
39 क्रुसमा टाँगिएको एक जना अपराधीले उहाँको गिल्ला गर्दै यसो भन्यो, “के तिमी ख्रीष्ट होइनौ? हामीलाई र आफैँलाई बचाऊ ।”
One of the criminals who was hanging there reviled him, saying, “If yoʋ are the Christ, save yoʋrself and us!”
40 तर अर्कोले त्यसलाई हप्काउँदै जवाफ दियो, “के तँ परमेश्वरको डर मान्दैनस्, तँ आफैँ यस्तो अवस्थामा छस्?
But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do yoʋ not even fear God, seeing that yoʋ are under the same condemnation?
41 हामी वास्तवमा यहाँ न्यायोचित रूपले छौँ, हामीले हाम्रो कामको उचित परिणाम पाइरहेका छौँ । तर यी मानिसले त कुनै गल्ती काम गरेका छैनन् ।”
The two of us are justly condemned, for we are receiving the appropriate punishment for the things we have done, but this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 र उसले थप्यो, “येशू, तपाईं आफ्नो राज्यमा आउनुहुँदा, मलाई सम्झनुहोस् ।”
Then he said to Jesus, “Remember me, Lord, when yoʋ come in yoʋr kingdom.”
43 येशूले त्यसलाई भन्नुभयो, “साँच्चै म तिमीलाई भन्दछु, आजै तिमी मसँगै स्वर्गलोकमा हुनेछौ ।”
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ, today yoʋ will be with me in Paradise.”
44 यो छैठौँ घडीको बेला थियो, र नवौँ घडीसम्म सारा देशभरि अन्धकारले ढाक्यो ।
Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
45 सूर्यले प्रकाश दिन छोड्यो । त्यसपछि मन्दिरको पर्दा बिचबाट च्यातियो ।
The sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
46 येशूले उच्च स्वरमा कराएर भन्नुभयो, “हे पिता, म मेरो आत्मा तपाईंको हातमा सुम्पन्छु । यसो भनेर उहाँले प्राण त्याग्नुभयो ।”
Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, into yoʋr hands I commit my spirit.” After saying this, he breathed his last breath.
47 जब कप्तानले जे भइरहेको थियो सो देखे, उनले यसो भन्दै परमेश्वरको महिमा गरे, “निश्चय नै यिनी एक धार्मिक मानिस थिए ।”
Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God and said, “Surely this man was righteous.”
48 यस ठाउँमा आएका सबै भिडले त्यहाँ भएका घटनाहरूलाई देखेपछि तिनीहरू आफ्नो छाती पिट्दै फर्के ।
And when all the crowds who had gathered together for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.
49 तर उहाँका चिनाजानीका मानिसहरू र गालीलबाट उहाँलाई पछ्याउने स्त्रीहरू टाढै उभिएर यी कुराहरू हेरिरहेका थिए ।
But all those who knew Jesus stood at a distance watching these things, including the women who had followed him from Galilee.
50 हेर, त्यहाँ एक जना योसेफ नाउँ गरेका मानिस थिए । तिनी महासभाका सदस्य थिए, जो एक असल र धार्मिक मानिस थिए ।
Now there was a good and righteous man named Joseph, who was a member of the council
51 (उनी तिनीहरूका निर्णय र क्रियाकलापसँग सहमत थिएनन्), उनी यहूदिया सहर अरिमाथियाका थिए, जसले परमेश्वरको राज्यको प्रतीक्षा गरिरहेका थिए ।
but had not consented to their decision and action. He was from Arimathea, a town of the Jews, and was himself also waiting for the kingdom of God.
52 यी मानिसले पिलातसकहाँ गएर येशूको शरीर मागे ।
He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body.
53 उनले तल लगे र सफा मलमलको कपडामा बेह्रेर चट्टानमा कपेर बनाइएको चिहानमा राखे, जहाँ कहिल्यै कसैलाई राखिएको थिएन ।
Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid it in a tomb hewn in a rock, where no one had ever been laid.
54 यो तयारीको दिन थियो, र विश्राम दिन सुरु हुनै लागेको थियो ।
It was the day of Preparation, and the Sabbath was approaching.
55 गालीलदेखि पछ्याउँदै आएका स्त्रीहरूले पनि चिहानमा उहाँको शरीर कसरी राखिएको थियो, त्यसलाई हेरे ।
The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed along behind and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it.
56 तिनीहरू फर्के र सुगन्धित द्रव्य र अत्तरहरू तयार पारे । त्यसपछि आज्ञाअनुसार विश्राम दिनमा तिनीहरूले विश्राम गरे ।
Then they returned and prepared spices and ointments. But they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
