लेवीहरू 20
1 परमप्रभुले मोशालाई भन्नुभयो,
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई भन्, ‘इस्राएलका मानिसहरू, वा इस्राएलमा बसोबास गर्ने परदेशीहरूमध्ये कसैले आफ्ना छोराछोरी मोलोखलाई चढाउँछ भने, त्यो मारिनुपर्छ । त्यहाँका मानिसहरूले त्यसलाई ढुङ्गाले हानून् ।
“Say to the people of Israel, 'Anyone among the people of Israel, or any foreigner who lives in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech, must certainly be put to death. The people in the land must stone him with stones.
3 त्यसले आफ्नो बालक मोलोखलाई दिएर मेरो पवित्र ठाउँ र पवित्र नाउँ अशुद्ध बनाएको हुनाले म त्यसको विरुद्ध खडा हुने छु र त्यसका मानिसहरूका बिचबाट त्यसलाई बहिष्कार गर्ने छु ।
I also will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people because he has given his child to Molech, so as to defile my holy place and profane my holy name.
4 यदि त्यो मानिसले आफ्ना छोराछोरीमध्ये कोही मोलोखलाई चढाउँदा त्यस भूमिका मानिसहरूले आफ्ना आँखा बन्द गरे, र त्यसलाई मृत्युदण्ड दिएनन् भने,
If the people of the land close their eyes to that man when he gives any of his children to Molech, if they do not put him to death,
5 त्यस मानिस र त्यसको वंशको विरुद्ध म आफै खडा हुने छु, र त्यसलाई र मोलोखसँग वेश्यागमन गर्ने सबैलाई बहिष्कृत गर्ने छु ।
then I myself will set my face against that man and his clan, and I will cut him off and everyone else who prostitutes himself in order to play the harlot with Molech.
6 मरेकाहरू वा आत्माहरूसँग बोलेर आफैलाई वेश्यासरह तुल्याउनेहरूलाई पछ्याउने मानिसको विरुद्ध म खडा हुने छु र त्यसका मानिसहरूका बिचबाट त्यसलाई बहिष्कार गर्ने छु ।
The person who turns to those who talk with the dead, or to those who talk with spirits so as to prostitute themselves with them, I will set my face against that person; I will cut him off from among his people.
7 त्यसैले आफैलाई अर्पण गर र पवित्र होओ, किनभने म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ ।
Therefore consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am Yahweh your God.
8 तिमीहरूले मेरा आज्ञाहरू मानेर ती पालन गर्नू । तिमीहरूलाई पवित्र बनाउने परमप्रभु म नै हुँ ।
You must keep my commands and carry them out. I am Yahweh who sets you apart as holy.
9 आफ्नी आमा वा आफ्नो बुबालाई सराप दिने सबै मारिनुपर्छ । त्यसले आफ्नो बुबा वा आफ्नी आमालाई सरापेको हुनाले त्यो दोषी हुन्छ र त्यो मर्न योग्यको हुन्छ ।
Everyone who curses his father or his mother must surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, so he is guilty and deserves to die.
10 अर्कै पुरुषको पत्नीसँग व्यभिचार गर्ने मानिस अर्थात् आफ्नो छिमेकीकी पत्नीसँग व्यभिचार गर्ने त्यो व्यभिचारी मानिस, र व्याभिचारिणी दुवैलाई मारिनुपर्छ ।
The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, that is, anyone who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife—the adulterer and the adulteress must both certainly be put to death.
11 आफ्नो बुबाकी पत्नीसँग सुत्ने मानिसले आफ्नो बुबाको नग्नतालाई प्रकट गर्दछ । त्यो छोरा र त्यसको बुबाकी पत्नी दुवै मारिनुपर्छ । तिनीहरूको रगत तिनीहरू आफैमाथि पर्ने छ ।
If a man lies with his father's wife, he uncovers his father's nakedness. Both the son and his father's wife must certainly be put to death. Their blood is upon them.
12 यदि कोही मानिस आफ्नी बुहारीसँग सुत्यो भने, तिनीहरू दुवै मारिनुपर्छ । तिनीहरूले दुराचरण गरेका हुनाले तिनीहरू दोषी हुन्छन् र तिनीहरू मर्न योग्यका हुन्छन् ।
If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must certainly be put to death. They have committed perversion. They are guilty and deserve to die.
13 कोही पुरुष स्त्रीसँग झैँ गरी अर्को पुरुषसँग सुत्यो भने, तिनीहरू दुवैले घृणास्पद काम गरेका छन् । तिनीहरू मारिनैपर्छ । तिनीहरू दोषी हुन्छन् र तिनीहरू मर्न योग्यका हुन्छन् ।
If a man sleeps with another man, as with a woman, both of them have done something detestable. They must surely be put to death. They are guilty and deserve to die.
14 कोही पुरुषले कुनै स्त्री र त्यसकी आमा दुवैलाई विवाह गर्यो भने, यो दुष्टता हो । त्यो पुरुष र ती दुवै स्त्री जलाइनुपर्छ ताकि तिमीहरूका बिचमा कुनै दुष्टता नहोस् ।
If a man marries a woman and also marries her mother, this is wickedness. They must be burned, both he and the women, so that there will be no wickedness among you.
15 कोही पुरुषले पशुसँग सहवास गरेमा त्यो मारिनैपर्छ, र तिमीहरूले त्यो पशुलाई पनि मार्नू ।
If a man sleeps with an animal, he must surely be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
16 कोही स्त्री पशुसँग सहवास गर्नलाई त्यसको नजिक गई भने, तिमीहरूले त्यस स्त्री र पशु दुवैलाई मार्नू । तिनीहरू निश्चय नै मारिनैपर्छ । तिनीहरू दोषी हुन्छन् र मर्न योग्यका हुन्छन् ।
If a woman approaches any animal to sleep with it, you must kill the woman and the animal. They must certainly be put to death. They are guilty and deserve to die.
17 कोही पुरुषले आफ्नी दिदी-बहिनी, वा आफ्नो बुबा वा आमाकी छोरीसँग सुतेर त्यसको नग्नता प्रकट गर्दछ, र त्यसले त्यस पुरुषको नग्नता देख्दछे भने, यो शर्मको कुरा हो । त्यो आफ्नी दिदी-बहिनीसँग सुतेको कारण तिनीहरू आफ्ना मानिसहरूको उपस्थितिबाट बहिष्कृत गरिनुपर्छ । त्यसले आफ्नो दोष बोकिरहने छ ।
If a man sleeps with his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and he uncovers her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing. They must be cut off from the presence of their people, because he has slept with his sister. He must carry his guilt.
18 कोही पुरुष स्त्रीको रजस्वलाको समयमा त्योसँग सुत्यो भने, त्यसले त्यसको रगतको मूल देखाउँदछ । ती पुरुष र स्त्री दुवै आफ्ना मानिसहरूबाट बहिष्कृत गरिनुपर्छ ।
If a man sleeps with a woman during her menstrual period and has slept with her, he has uncovered the flow of her blood, the source of her blood. Both the man and woman must be cut off from among their people.
19 आफ्नो बुबा वा आमाकी दिदी-बहिनीसँग नसुत्, किनभने तैँले त्यसो गरेर आफ्नो नजिकको नाताको अपमान गर्ने छस् । तैँले आफ्नो दोष आफै बोक्ने छस् ।
You must not sleep with your mother's sister, or with your father's sister, because you would disgrace your close relative. You must carry your own guilt.
20 कोही पुरुष आफ्नी काकीसँग सुत्यो भने, त्यसले आफ्नो काकाको अपमान गर्दछ । तिनीहरूले आ-आफ्नो पापको भार उठाउने छन्, र तिनीहरू निसन्तान नै मर्ने छन् ।
If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will bear responsibility for their sin, and they will die without children.
21 कोही मानिसले आफ्नो दाजु वा भाइ जीवितै हुँदा त्यसकी पत्नीलाई बिहे गर्यो भने, त्यो अपमानजनक हो । त्यसले आफ्नो दाजु वा भाइलाई अनादर गर्दछ, र तिनीहरूले आफ्ना आमाबुबाबाट उत्तराधिकारको रूपमा प्राप्त गरेका सबै सम्पत्ति तिनीहरूका छोराछोरीबाट म खोसिदिने छु ।
If a man marries his brother's wife while his brother is still living, that is disgraceful. He has dishonored his brother, and I will take away from their children any property they may have inherited from their parents.
22 त्यसैकारण तिमीहरूले मेरा सबै विधिविधानहरू र आज्ञाहरू पालन गर्नू । यी तिमीहरूले पालन गर्नू ताकि तिमीहरूलाई बसोबास गर्नको निम्ति मैले लैजान लागेको भूमिले तिमीहरूलाई नउकेलोस् ।
You must therefore keep all my statutes and all my decrees; you must obey them so that the land into which I am bringing you to live will not vomit you up.
23 तिमीहरूका सामुबाट मैले निष्कासन गरेका जातिहरूका रीतिरिवाजहरूमा तिमीहरू नहिँड्नू, किनभने तिनीहरूले यी सबै कुरा गरे, र मैले तिनीहरूलाई घृणा गरेँ ।
You must not walk in the customs of the nations that I will drive out before you, for they have done all these things, and I detest them.
24 मैले तिमीहरूलाई भनेँ, “तिमीहरूले तिनीहरूका भूमि उत्तराधिकारमा पाउने छौ । दूध र मह बगिरहने देश म तिमीहरूको अधिकारमा दिने छु । अरू मानिसहरूबाट तिमीहरूलाई अलग गर्ने परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर म नै हुँ ।
I said to you, “You will inherit their land; I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am Yahweh your God, who has separated you from the other peoples.
25 यसैकारण तिमीहरूले शुद्ध र अशुद्ध पशु, अनि शुद्ध र अशुद्ध पक्षीबिच भेद राख्नू । मैले तिमीहरूका निम्ति अशुद्ध भनेर छुट्ट्याएको अशुद्ध पशु वा पक्षी वा जमिनमा घस्रने प्राणीद्वारा आफैलाई अशुद्ध नबनाउनू ।
You must therefore distinguish between the clean animals and the unclean, and between the unclean birds and the clean. You must not defile yourselves with unclean animals or birds or with any creature that crawls along the ground, which I have separated as unclean from you.
26 तिमीहरू पवित्र होओ, किनभने म परमप्रभु पवित्र छु, र मैले तिमीहरूलाई अरू मानिसहरूबाट अलग गरेको छु, किनभने तिमीहरू मेरा हौ ।
You must be holy, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples, for you belong to me.
27 मरेकाहरू वा आत्माहरूसँग बोल्ने पुरुष वा स्त्री मारिनुपर्छ । मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूलाई ढुङ्गाले हानून् । तिनीहरू दोषी छन् र मर्न योग्यका छन् ।’” 20:7 धेरै वर्तमान संस्करणमा यस्तो छः ... किनभने म, परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर पवित्र छु ।
A man or a woman who talks with the dead or who talks with spirits must certainly be put to death. The people must stone them with stones. They are guilty and deserve to die.'”
