न्यायकर्ताहरू 6
1 परमप्रभुको दृष्टिमा जे खराब थियो इस्राएलीहरूले त्यही गरे, र उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई सात वर्षसम्म मिद्यानीका हातमा सुम्पिदिनुभयो ।
And the children of Israel did the evil in the eyes of the Lord: and the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.
2 मिद्दानीको शक्तिले इस्राएललाई अत्याचार गर्यो । मिद्दानीका कारणले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले पहाडका ओडारहरू, गुफाहरू, र किल्लाहरू बस्न लागे ।
And the hand of Midian prevailed over Israel; and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made for themselves the passes which are in the mountains, and the caves, and the strongholds.
3 यस्तो भयो, जति बेला इस्राएलीहरूले आफ्ना बालीहरू लगाउँथे, त्यति बेला मिद्दानीहरू र अमालेकीहरू र पूर्वका मानिसहरूले इस्राएलीहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्थे ।
And it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the 'Amalekites, and the children of the east, and they went up against them;
4 तिनीहरूले देशमा आफ्ना सेना तयार गर्थे, र गाजासम्मै सबै बालीहरू नष्ट गर्थे । तिनीहरूले इस्राएलमा भोजन, भेडाहरू, गाइवस्तु वा गधाहरू केही पनि छोड्दैनथे ।
And they encamped against them, and destroyed the products of the earth, as far as Gazzah, and they left no sustenance for Israel, neither lamb, nor ox, nor ass.
5 तिनीहरूले आफ्ना पाल्तु वस्तुहरू र पालहरू लिएर आउँदा, तिनीहरू सलहहरूका हुलझैं हुन्थे, र तिनीहरूका मानिसहरू र ऊँटहरू गन्न असम्भव हुन्थ्यो । त्यस देशलाई नष्ट गर्नको निम्ति तिनीहरूले आक्रमण गर्थे ।
For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and came as locusts in multitude; and both they and their camels were without number; and they came into the land to destroy it.
6 मिद्दानीहरूले इस्राएलीहरूलाई यति धेरै कमजोर बनाए, जसको कारणले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुलाई पुकारे ।
And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord.
7 जब मिद्दानीहरूका कारणले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुलाई पुकारा गरे,
And it came to pass, when the children of Israel had cried unto the Lord because of the Midianites,
8 तब परमप्रभुले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूका निम्ति एक जना अगमवक्ता पठाउनुभयो । ती अगमवक्ताले तिनीहरूलाई भने, “परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्वर यसो भन्नुहुन्छः ‘मैले तिमीहरूलाई मिश्रदेशबाट निकालेर ल्याएँ । मैले तिमीहरूलाई दासत्वको घरबाट बाहिर निकालेर ल्याएँ ।
That the Lord sent a prophet unto the children of Israel, and he said unto them, Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, I led you forth out of Egypt, and brought you out of the house of slavery;
9 मैले तिमीहरूलाई मिश्रीहरूका हातबाट र तिमीहरूलाई अत्याचार गरिरहेका सबै जनाका हातबाट बचाएँ । तिनीहरूलाई मैले तिमीहरूका सामुबाट लखेटें, र तिमीहरूलाई मैले तिनीहरूका देश दिएँ ।
And I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all that oppressed you, and I drove them out from before you, and gave you their land;
10 मैले तिमीहरूलाई भनें, “म परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वर हुँ । मैले तिमीहरूलाई एमोरीहरूका देवहरूलाई नपुज भनेर आज्ञा दिएँ, जसको देशमा तिमीहरू बसोबास गरिरहेका छौ ।” तर तिमीहरूले मेरो आज्ञा पालना गरेका छैनौ ।’”
And I said unto you, I am the Lord your God: ye shall not fear the gods of the Emorites, in whose land ye dwell; but ye have not obeyed my voice.
11 यति बेला परमप्रभुका दूत आए र अबीएजेरी योआशको, ओप्रा भन्ने ठाउँको फलाँटको रूखमुनि बसे, जति बेला मिद्दानीहरूबाट लुकाउनलाई योआशका छोरा गिदोनचाहिं दाखको कोल भइँमा गहूँ चुटेर छुट्याउँदै थिए ।
And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat down under the oak which was in 'Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi'ezrite; and Gid'on his son was beating out wheat in the wine-press, to hide it from the Midianites.
12 परमप्रभुका दूत तिनीकहाँ देखा परे र तिनलाई भने, “तँ बलवान् योद्धा होस्, परमप्रभु तँसँग हुनुहुन्छ!”
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.
13 गिदोनले तिनलाई भने, “ओहो, मेरा मालिक, परमप्रभु हामीसँग हुनुहुन्छ भने, किन हामीलाई यी सबै कुरा हुन आएका हुन्? उहाँका सबै आश्चर्यपूर्ण कामहरू कहाँ छन् जसका बारेमा हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूले हामीलाई यसो भनेका थिए, ‘के परमप्रभुले हामीलाई मिश्रदेशबाट बाहिर निकाल्नुभएन र?’ तर अहिले परमप्रभुले हामीलाई त्याग्नुभएको र हामीलाई मिद्दानीका हातमा दिनुभएको छ ।”
And Gid'on said unto him, Pardon, my lord, if the Lord be indeed with us, why then hath all this befallen us? and where are all his wonders of which our fathers have told us, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt! But now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.
14 परमप्रभुले तिनलाई हेर्नुभयो र यसो भन्नुभयो, “तँसँग भएको बलमा तँ जा । इस्राएललाई मिद्दानीको हातबाट छुटा । के मैले तँलाई पठाएको होइन र?”
And the Lord turned toward him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: behold, I have sent thee.
15 गिदोनले उहाँलाई भने, “कृपया, परमप्रभु, म कसरी इस्राएललाई छुटाउन सक्छु र? हेर्नुहोस्, मेरो परिवार मनश्शेमा सबैभन्दा कमजोर छ, र मेरो पिताको घरानामा म सबैभन्दा कम महत्त्वको छु ।”
And he said unto him, Pardon my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is the weakest in Menasseh, and I am the youngest of my father's house.
16 परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “म तँसँग हुनेछु, र तैंले सम्पूर्ण मिद्दानी सेनालाई एक जना मानिसलाई झैं गरी परास्त गर्नेछस् ।”
And the Lord said unto him, Because I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
17 गिदोनले उहाँलाई भने, “तपाईं मसँग खुशी हुनुहुन्छ भने, मसँग बोल्ने तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ भनेर तपाईंले मलाई एउटा चिन्ह दिनुहोस् ।
And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy eyes, then give me a sign that thou hast been speaking with me;
18 म तपाईंकहाँ आउन र तपाईंलाई मेरो उपहार ल्याएर तपाईंको सामु नराखेसम्म, कृपया यहाँबाट नजानुहोस् ।” परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “तँ नफर्केसम्म म पर्खनेछु ।”
Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come unto thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thy return.
19 गिदोन गए र एउटा पाठो तयार गरे र पाँच पाथी पिठोबाट अखमिरी रोटी बनाए । उनले मासुलाई एउटा टोकरीमा राखे, र झोलचाहिं एउटा भाँडोमा राखे, अनि ती फलाँटको रूखमुनि उहाँकहाँ ल्याए र ती टक्र्याए ।
And Gid'on went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and the broth he put in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.
20 तब परमप्रभुका दूतले तिनलाई भने, “मासु र अखमिरी रोटी उठा र ती यस चट्टानमाथि राख्, र तीमाथि त्यो झोल खन्याइदे ।” गिदोनले त्यसै गरे ।
And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and the broth pour out. And he did so.
21 तब परमप्रभुका दूतले आफ्नो हातको लौरोको टुप्पोले त्यो छोए । त्यसले उहाँले मासु र अखमिरी रोटीलाई छुनुभयो । त्यो चट्टानबाट एउटा आगो निस्कियो, र मासु र अखमिरी रोटीलाई भस्म गर्यो । तब परमप्रभुका दूत गइहाले र गिदोनले उनलाई फेरि देखेनन् ।
Then the angel of the Lord put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. And the angel of the Lord departed out of his sight.
22 तिनी परमप्रभुका दूत रहेछन् भनेर गिदोनले बुझे । गिदोनले भने, “हे परमप्रभु परमेश्वर! किनकि मैले परमप्रभुका दूतलाई आमने-सामने देखें!”
And when Gid'on perceived that it was an angel of the Lord, Gid'on said, Alas, O Lord Eternal! because I have surely seen an angel of the Lord face to face.
23 परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तँलाई शान्ति होस्! नडरा, तँ मर्नेछैनस् ।”
And the Lord said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
24 यसैले गिदोनले त्यहाँ परमप्रभुको निम्ति एउटा वेदी बनाए । तिनले त्यसको नाउँ “परमप्रभु शान्ति हुनुहुन्छ” भने । आजको दिनसम्म त्यो अबीएजेरी वंशको ओप्रामा छ ।
And Gid'on built there an altar unto the Lord, and called it Adonay-shalom [[the Eternal of Peace: ]] unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi'ezrites.
25 त्यस रात परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तेरो बुबाको एउटा साँढे, र अर्को सात वर्षको एउटा साँढे ले, र तेरो बुबाको बाल देवताको वेदी भत्काइदे, र त्यसको छेऊमा भएको अशेरा देवीको मुर्ति ढालिदे ।
And it came to pass in the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, and the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal which belongeth to thy father, and the grove that is around it shalt thou cut down.
26 यो शरणस्थानको माथिल्लो भागमा परमप्रभु तेरा परमेश्वरको निम्ति एउटा वेदी बना र त्यसलाई ठिक किसिमले बना । तैँले काटेर ढालेको अशेरा देवीको काठ प्रयोग गरेर दोस्रो साँढेलाई होमबलिको रूपमा चढा ।”
And build an altar unto the Lord thy God upon the top of this rock, on the level place, and take the second bullock, and offer [it as] a burnt-sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.
27 यसैले गिदोनले आफ्ना दश जना सेवकलाई लिए र परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभएझैं गरे । तर दिनको समयमा त्यो काम गर्न तिनी आफ्ना पिताका घराना र नगरका मानिसहरूसँग सह्रै डराएका हुनाले, तिनले त्यो काम रातमा गरे ।
And Gid'on took ten men of his servants, and did as the Lord had spoken unto him; but it came to pass, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, to do it by day, that he did it by night.
28 बिहान जब नगरका मानिसहरू उठे, तब बाल देवताको वेदी भत्किएको, र त्यसको छेऊमा भएको अशेरा देवीको मुर्ति काटेर ढलिएको थियो, र त्यहाँ बनाइएको वेदीमाथि त्यो दोस्रो साँढेलाई चढाइएको थियो ।
And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was overthrown, and the grove that was around it was cut down, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar which had been built.
29 सहरका मानिसहरूले एक-अर्कामा यसो भने, “यो कसले गरेको हो?” जब तिनीहरूले अरूसँग कुरा गरे र जवाफको खोजे, तब तिनीहरूले भने, “योआशका छोरा गिदोनले यो कुरा गरेको हो ।”
And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And they inquired and searched, and then said, Gid'on the son of Joash hath done this thing.
30 अनि सहरका मानिसहरूले योआशलाई भने, “तिम्रो छोरालाई बाहिर ल्याऊ, ताकि त्यो मारियोस्, किनभने त्यसले बाल देवताको वेदी भत्काइदिएको र त्यस छेऊको अशेरा देवीको मुर्ति ढालिदिएको छ ।”
Thereupon said the men of the city unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die; because he hath overthrown the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was around it.
31 आफ्नो विरुद्धमा भएका सबै जनालाई योआशले भने, “के तिमीहरू बालको पक्षमा बोल्दछौ? के तिमीहरू त्यसलाई बचाउँछौ? जसले त्यसको पक्षमा बोल्छ, त्यो बिहानकै समयमा मारियोस् । बाल देवता हो भने, कसैले त्यसको वेदी भत्काइदिंदा त्यसले आफ्नो सुरक्षा आफैं गरोस् ।”
But Joash said unto all that stood around him, Will ye indeed contend for Baal? will ye assist him? he that will contend for him, shall be put to death; [wait] until morning: if he be a god, let him contend for himself, because one hath overthrown his altar.
32 त्यसकारण, त्यो दिनमा तिनीहरूले गिदोनलाई “यरूब-बाल” भने, किनभने तिनले यसो भनेका थिए, “बालले त्यसको विरुद्ध आफ्नो सुरक्षा आफैं गरोस्,” किनभने गिदोनले बालको वेदी भत्काए ।
And the people called him on that day Yerubba'al, saying, Let Baal contend against him, because he hath overthrown his altar.
33 यत बेला सबै मिद्दानीहरू, अमालेकीहरू, र पूर्वका मानिसहरू एकसाथ भेला भए । तिनीहरूले यर्दन तरे र यिजरेलको बेसीमा छाउनी हाले ।
And all the Midianites and 'Amalekites and the children of the east assembled together, and went over and encamped in the valley of Yizre'el.
34 तर परमप्रभुको आत्मा गिदोनमाथि आउनुभयो । गिदोनले तुरही फुके, र अबीएजेरी वंशलाई बोलाए ताकि उनीहरू तिनको पछि लाग्न सकून् ।
But the Spirit of the Lord endued Gid'on, and he blew the cornet: and Abi'ezer assembled and followed him.
35 उनले मनश्शेभरि नै दूतहरू पठाए, र उनीहरूलाई पनि तिनको पछि लाग्न बोलाइयो । तिनले आशेर, जबूलून, र नप्तालीकहाँ पनि दूतहरू पठाए, र उनीहरू तिनलाई भेट्न निस्के ।
And he sent messengers throughout all Menasseh, who also assembled and followed him; and he sent messengers through Asher, and through Zebulun, and through Naphtali, and they came up to meet them.
36 गिदोनले परमेश्वरलाई भने, “तपाईंले भन्नुभएझैं, तपाईंले इस्राएललाई बचाउनलाई मलाई प्रयोग गर्ने इच्छा गर्नुहुन्छ भने—
And Gid'on said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast spoken,
37 हेर्नुहोस्, म खलामा भेडाको ऊन राख्दैछु । यस ऊनमा मात्र शीत पर्यो, र जमिनचाहिं पुरै सुक्खा रह्यो भने, तब तपाईंले भन्नुभएझैं इस्राएललाई बचाउनलाई तपाईंले मलाई प्रयोग गर्नुहुनेछ भनी म जान्नेछु ।”
Behold, I set up this fleece of wool in the threshing floor: if now there be dew on the fleece alone, and it be dry upon all the ground, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast spoken.
38 यस्तो भयो – भोलिपल्ट बिहानै गिदोन उठे, उनले ऊन निचोरे, र ऊनबाट शीत निचरेर एक बटुको पानी भरे ।
And it was so; and when he rose up early on the morrow, he squeezed the fleece together, and wrung dew out of the fleece, [making] a bowl full of water.
39 त्यसपछि गिदोनले परमप्रभुलाई भने, “कृपया मसँग नरिसाउनुहोस्, म फेरि एकपल्ट बोल्नेछु । मलाई फेरि एकपल्ट ऊनको प्रयोग गरेर जाँच गर्न दिनुहोस् । योपल्ट त्यो ऊनलाई सुक्खा छोडिदिनुहोस्, र त्यसको वरिपरिको जमिनमा सबैतिर शीत रहोस् ।”
And Gid'on said unto God, Let not thy anger be kindled against me, and I will speak but this once [more]; let me have a proof, I pray thee, but this once more with the fleece; let it, I pray, be dry upon the fleece alone, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
40 तिनले त्यस रात जे होस् भनी मागेका थिए, परमेश्वरले त्यस्तै गर्नुभयो । त्यो ऊन सुक्खा थियो, र त्यसको वरिपरिको जमिनमा चारैतिर शीत थियो ।
And God did so that night; and it was dry upon the fleece alone, and on all the ground there was dew.
