यहोशू 1
1 परमप्रभुका दास मोशाको मृत्युपछि परमप्रभु मोशाका मुख्य सहायक नूनका छोरा यहोशूसँग यसरी बोल्नुभयो,
And it comes to pass after the death of Moses, servant of YHWH, that YHWH speaks to Joshua son of Nun, minister of Moses, saying,
2 “मेरो दास मोशाको मत्यु भएको छ । यसकारण, उठ्, तँ र यी मानिसहरू यर्दन नदी तरेर मैले तिनीहरू अर्थात् इस्राएलका मानसिहरूलाई दिएको भूमिमा जाओ । तेरो खुट्टाको पैतालाले टेकेका सबै ठाउँ म तँलाई दिने छु ।
“My servant Moses is dead, and now, rise, pass over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.
3 मैले मोशालाई प्रतिज्ञा गरेझैँ यो मैले तँलाई दिएको छु ।
Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, as I have spoken to Moses.
4 त्यो मरुभूमि र लेबनानदेखि महानदी यूफ्रेटिससम्म, हित्तीहरूका सबै भूमि र घाम अस्ताउने भूमध्य सागरसम्म हुने छ ।
From this wilderness and Lebanon, and to the great river, the Euphrates River, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea—the going in of the sun—is your border.
5 तेरो सारा जीवनभरि तेरो सामु कोही पनि खडा हुन सक्ने छैन । जसरी म मोशासँग थिएँ, त्यसरी नै तँसँग हुने छु । म तँलाई त्याग्ने छैनँ वा छोड्ने छैनँ ।
No man stations himself before you all [the] days of your life; as I have been with Moses, I am with you, I do not fail you, nor forsake you;
6 बलियो र साहसी हो । तैँले यी मानिसहरूलाई मैले तिनीहरूलाई दिन्छु भनी तिनीहरूका पिता-पुर्खाहरूलाई प्रतिज्ञा गरेको भूमि अधिकार गराउने छस् ।
be strong and courageous, for you cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn to their fathers to give to them.
7 बलियो हो र खुबै साहसी हो । मेरा दास मोशाले पालन गर्न तँलाई आज्ञा गरेका सबै व्यवस्था सावधानीसाथ पालन गर् । यसबाट दाहिनेतिर वा देब्रेतिर नलाग्, ताकि तँ जहाँ गए तापनि सफल हुन सक्ने छस् ।
Only, be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you; you do not turn aside from it right or left, so that you act wisely in every [place] to where you go;
8 तैँले व्यवस्थाको यो पुस्तकबारे सदैव चर्चा गर्ने छस् । तैँले यसलाई दिनरात मनन गर्ने छस्, ताकि तैँले लेखेका सबै कुरा पालन गर्न सक्ने छस् । अनि तेरो फलिफाप हुने छ र तँ सफल हुने छस् ।
the scroll of this Law does not depart out of your mouth, and you have meditated in it by day and by night, so that you observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you cause your way to prosper, and then you act wisely.
9 के मैले तँलाई आज्ञा गरेको होइनँ र? बलियो र साहसी हो । नडरा । निराश नहो । तँ जहाँ गए पनि परमप्रभु परमेश्वर तँसँग हुनुहुन्छ ।
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous; do not be terrified nor frightened, for your God YHWH [is] with you in every [place] to where you go.”
10 अनि यहोशूले मानिसहरूका अगुवाहरूलाई आज्ञा गरे,
And Joshua commands the authorities of the people, saying,
11 “छाउनीभरि जाओ र मानिसहरूलाई आज्ञा गर, 'तिमीहरूका निम्ति खानेकुराहरू तयार पार । तिमीहरू तिन दिनमा यर्दन नदी तरेर पारि जाने छौ र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिमीहरूलाई दिनुभएको भूमि अधिकार गर्ने छौ' ।”
“Pass over into the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare provision for yourselves, for within three days you are passing over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which your God YHWH is giving to you to possess it.”
12 यहोशूले रूबेनीहरू, गादीहरू र मनश्शेका आधा कुलहरूलाई भने,
And to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite, and to the half of the tribe of Manasseh, Joshua has spoken, saying,
13 “परमप्रभुका दास मोशाले तिमीहरूलाई भनेका वचनहरू सम्झ । तिनले भनेका थिए, 'परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई विश्राम दिइरहनुभएको छ र उहाँले तिमीहरूलाई यो भूमि दिँदै हुनुहुन्छ ।'
“Remember the word which Moses, servant of YHWH, commanded you, saying, Your God YHWH is giving rest to you, and He has given this land to you;
14 तिमीहरूका पत्नीहरू, तिमीहरूका स-साना बालबच्चाहरू र तिमीहरूका गाईवस्तुहरू मोशाले दिएका यर्दन वारिको भूमिमा नै रहने छन् ।
your wives, your infants, and your substance, abide in the land which Moses has given to you beyond the Jordan, and you pass over by fifties, before your brothers, all the mighty men of valor, and have helped them,
15 तर परमप्रभुले तिनीहरूलाई पनि तिमीहरूलाई झैँ विश्राम नदिनुभएसम्म तिमीहरूका योद्धाहरू तिमीहरूका भाइहरूसँग पारि जाने छन् र तिनीहरूलाई सहायता गर्ने छन् ।
until YHWH gives rest to your brothers as to yourselves, and they have possessed, even they, the land which your God YHWH is giving to them; then you have turned back to the land of your possession, and have possessed it, which Moses, servant of YHWH, has given to you beyond the Jordan, [at] the sun-rising.”
16 त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले पनि परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरले तिनीहरूलाई दिनुहुने भूमि अधिकार गर्ने छन् । त्यसपछि तिमीहरू परमप्रभुका दास मोशाले यर्दन वारि घाम झुल्कनेतिर दिएका तिमीहरूका आफ्नै भूमिमा फर्कने छौ र यसलाई अधिकार गर्ने छौ ।”
And they answer Joshua, saying, “All that you have commanded us we do; and to every [place] to where you send us, we go;
17 तिनीहरूले यहोशूलाई जवाफ दिए, “तपाईंले हामीलाई आज्ञा गर्नुभएका सबै कुरा हामी गर्ने छौँ, र तपाईंले हामीलाई जहाँ पठाउनुहुन्छ हामी उतै जाने छौँ । हामीले मोशाको आज्ञा पालन गरेझैँ हामी तपाईंको आज्ञा पनि पालन गर्ने छौँ । परमप्रभु तपाईंका परमेश्वर मोशासँग रहनुभएझैँ तपाईंसँग रहनुभएको होस् ।
according to all that we listened to [from] Moses, so we listen to you; surely your God YHWH is with you as He has been with Moses.
18 तपाईंका आज्ञाहरू विरुद्ध विद्रोह गर्ने र तपाईंका वचनहरूको अवज्ञा गर्ने जोसुकैलाई मार्नुपर्छ । मात्र बलियो र साहसी हुनुहोस् ।”
Any man who provokes your mouth, and does not hear your words, in all that you command him, is put to death; only, be strong and courageous.”
