योएल 2

1 सियोनमा तुरही फुक, र मेरो पवित्र पर्वतमा चेतावनी ध्वनि बजाओ! देशका सबै बासिन्दाहरू डरले थरथर होऊन्, किनकि परमप्रभुको दिन आउँदैछ, वास्तवमा, त्यो नजिकै छ ।

Blow ye a horn in Zion, sound an alarm in my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land, tremble, —for coming is the day of Yahweh, for it is near!—

2 यो अन्धकार र उदासको दिन हो, बादलहरू र बाक्‍लो अन्धकारको दिन हो । जसरी पर्वतहरूमा झिसमिसे बिहानी फैलिन्‍छ, त्‍यसरी नै एउटा ठुलो र शक्तिशाली सेना नजिक आउँदैछ । त्‍यस्‍तो सेना पहिले कहिल्यै थिएन, अनि पुस्तौं-पुस्ता पछिसम्म पनि, त्‍यहाँ त्‍यस्‍तो फेरि कहिल्यै हुनेछैन ।

A day of obscurity and deep gloom, a day of cloud, and thick darkness, as dusk, spread over the mountains, —a people, many and bold, like whom, hath not been from age-past times, and, after whom, shall not be again unto the years of generation after generation.

3 त्यसको अगाडिका सबै कुरालाई आगोले भष्‍म पार्दैछ, र त्यसको पछाडि आगोको ज्वाला बलिरहेको छ । त्यसको अगाडिको देश अदनको बगैंचाजस्‍तो छ, तर त्यसको पछाडि एउटा नाश भएको उजाड-स्‍थान छ । त्यसबाट कुनै कुरा फुत्‍कनेछैन ।

Before him, hath a fire, devoured, and, after him, shall a flame, consume, —As the garden of Eden, is the land before him, but, after him, a desert most desolate, Moreover also, escape, giveth he none.

4 त्‍यो सेना घोडाहरूझैं देखा पर्छ, र तिनीहरू घोडचढीहरूझैं दौडन्‍छन् ।

As the appearance of horses, is his appearance, and, as war-horses, so, shall they run:

5 पर्वतहरूका टाकुराहरूमा रथहरूले गरेझैं, झिंजाहरू भस्‍म पार्ने भयङ्कर ज्वालाको आवाजझैं, युद्धको निम्ति तयार भएको शक्तिशाली सेनाझैं, आवाज गरेर तिनीहरू उफ्रन्‍छन् ।

Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, shall they rattle along, like the noise of a flame of fire, devouring dry straw, —like a people bold, arrayed for battle.

6 तिनीहरूको उपस्थितिले मानिसहरू वेदनामा पर्छन्, अनि तिनीहरूका सम्‍पूर्ण अनुहार पहेंलो हुन्छ ।

Because of him, shall peoples’, be in anguish, —all faces, have withdrawn their colour.

7 शक्तिशाली लडाकुहरूझैं तिनीहरू दौडन्‍छन्, सेनाहरूझैं तिनीहरू पर्खालहरूमा चढ्‍छन्, तिनीहरू हरेक व्‍यक्‍ति पङ्तिवद्ध भएर हिंड्‍छन्, र आफ्नो पङ्तिलाई बिगार्दैनन् ।

Like heroes, shall they run, like men of war, shall they mount a wall, —and, every one—along his own road, shall they march along, and shall not change their paths;

8 न त एउटाले अर्कालाई धक्‍का दिन्छन् । तिनीहरू प्रत्‍येक नै आ-आफ्नै बाटोमा हिंड्छन् । तिनीहरू सुरक्षाबलहरूलाई तोड्‍दै अघि बढ्छन्, र आफ्नो लाइनभन्‍दा बाहिर पुग्दैनन् ।

Nor, against each other, shall they strike, Each—on his own highway, shall they march, —though, in among the weapons, they fall, they shall not stop.

9 तिनीहरूले सहरलाई आक्रमण गर्छन्, तिनीहरू पर्खालमा दौडन्‍छन्, तिनीहरू घरहरूमाथि चढ्छन्, र चोरहरूझैं तिनीहरू झ्यालहरूबाट भित्र जान्‍छन् ।

Upon the city, shall they leap, on the wall, shall they run, up the houses, shall they climb, —through the windows, shall they enter, like a thief,

10 तिनीहरूको अगि पृथ्वी काम्छ, आकाश थरथर हुन्‍छ, सूर्य र चन्द्रमा अँध्यारो हुन्छन्, अनि ताराहरू चम्कन छोड्‍छन् ।

Before him, hath quaked the earth, have trembled the heavens, —the sun and the moon, have become dark, and, the stars, have withdrawn their shining;

11 परमप्रभुले आफ्‍नो सेनाको सामु ठुलो सोरले कराउनुहुन्छ, किनकि उहाँका योद्धाहरू असङ्ख्‍य छन्, किनकि उहाँका आज्ञा पालन गर्नेहरू, ती बलिया छन् । किनकि परमप्रभुको दिन महान् र अत्यन्तै भयानक हुन्‍छ । त्‍यसबाट को बाँच्‍न सक्छ र?

And, Yahweh, hath uttered his voice, before his host, for great indeed is his camp, for bold is he who executeth his word, —for great is the day of Yahweh, and awful exceedingly, Who then shall endure it?

12 परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ “अहिले पनि, आफ्‍ना सारा हृदयले मकाहाँ फर्क । उपवास बस, रोओ, र विलाप गर ।”

Even now, therefore, urgeth Yahweh, Turn ye unto me, with all your heart, —and with fasting and with weeping, and with lamentation;

13 आफ्ना लुगामात्र होइन तर आफ्ना हृदय पनि धुजाधुजा पार, र परमप्रभु आफ्‍ना परमेश्‍वरकाहाँ फर्क । किनकि उहाँ अनुग्रही र कृपापूर्ण, रिसाउनमा ढिला र करारको विश्‍वसततामा प्रशस्‍त हुनुहुन्छ, र दण्डको पिडा दिनबाट उहाँ पर्कन चाहनुहुन्‍न ।

And rend your heart, and not your garments, turn therefore, unto Yahweh your God, —for, gracious and full of compassion, is he, slow to anger, and abundant in loving- kindness, and will grieve over calamity.

14 कसले जान्दछ? सायद उहाँ पर्कनुहुन्छ, र दया देखाउनुहुन्छ, र आफ्‍नो पछि आशिष् छोड्‍नुहुन्‍छ, तिमीहरूका परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरका निम्ति अन्‍नबलि र अर्घबलि दिनुहुन्छ कि?

Who knoweth, he may turn and grieve, —and leave behind him, a blessing, a meal-offering and a drink-offering, to Yahweh your God?

15 सियोनमा तुरही फुक, पवित्र उपवासको आव्‍हान गर, र पवित्र सभा बोलाओ ।

Blow ye a horn, in Zion, —hallow a fast, call a solemn assembly:

16 मानिसहरूलाई भेला गराओ, पवित्र सभा बोलाओ । धर्मगुरुहरूलाई भेला गर, बालबालिका र दूधे बालकहरूलाई भेला गराओ । दुलहाहरू आफ्ना कोठाहरूबाट बाहिर आऊन्, अनि दुलहीहरू आफ्ना सृङ्गारका कोठाहरूबाट बाहिर आऊन् ।

Gather the people, hallow a convocation, collect the elders, gather the children, and the sucklings of the breasts, —let the bridegroom, come forth, from his chamber, and the bride from her bower:

17 पुजारीहरू, परमप्रभुका सेवकहरू, दलान र वेदीको बिचमा रोऊन् । तिनीहरूले यसो भनून्, “हे परमप्रभु, आफ्‍ना मानिसहरू बाँकी राख्‍नुहोस्, र आफ्नो उत्तराधिकारलाई घृणाको पात्र बन्‍न नदिनुहोस्, र जातिहरूले तिनीहरूको गिल्ला नगरून् । तिनीहरूले जातिहरूका बिचमा यस्तो किन भन्‍नू, ‘तिनीहरूका परमेश्‍वर कहाँ छ?’”

Between the porch and the altar, let the priests, weep, the attendants of Yahweh, —and let them say—Look with pity, O Yahweh, upon thy people, and do not deliver thine inheritance to reproach, that the nations, should mock them, Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

18 आफ्नो देशको निम्‍ति परमप्रभु डाही हुनुभयो र आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई दया देखाउनुभयो ।

And Yahweh became jealous for his land, —and took pity on his people;

19 परमप्रभुले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो, “हेर, म तिमीहरूका निम्ति अन्‍न, नयाँ दाखमद्य, र तेल पठाउनेछु । ती कुराहरूले तिमीहरू सन्तुष्‍ट हुनेछौ, र तिमीहरूलाई फेरि म जातिहरूका बिचमा अपमानित तुल्‍याउनेछैनँ ।

Then answered Yahweh, and said to his people: —Behold me! sending you the corn, and the new wine and the oil, so shall ye be satisfied therewith; and I will not make you, any more, a reproach among the nations.

20 उत्तरबाट आक्रमण गर्नेहरूलाई म तिमीहरूबाट टाढा हटाइदिनेछु, र तिनीहरूलाई एउटा सुक्‍खा र त्‍यागिएको देशमा लखेटिदिनेछु । तिनीहरूको सेनाको अग्रपङ्क्ति पूर्वीय समुद्रमा, अनि पछिल्लो पङ्क्तिचाहिं पश्‍चिमी समुद्रमा जानेछ । त्यसको दुर्गन्ध माथि उठ्नेछ, त्यसको सडेको दुर्गन्ध माथि उठ्नेछ ।” निश्‍चय नै उहाँले महान् काम गर्नुभएको छ ।

And, the Northerner, will I remove far from you, and drive him into a land parched and desolate, with, his face, toward the eastern sea, and, his rear, toward the hinder sea, —then shall come up his ill odour, yea his stench, shall ascend, because he hath shown himself great in doing.

21 ए देश, नडरा, रमाहट गर र आनन्दित हो, किनकि परमप्रभुले महान् काम गर्नुहुनेछ ।

Be not thou afraid, O soil, —exult and rejoice, because Yahweh, hath shown himself great, in doing.

22 ए मैदानका पशुहरू हो, नडराओ, किनकि उजाड-स्‍थानका खर्कहरूमा पलाउनेछन्, र बोटहरूले आफ्‍ना फलहरू दिनेछन्, र नेभाराका बोटहरू र दाखका बोटहरूले आ-आफ्ना फसल पुरा रूपमा दिनेछन् ।

Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field, for sprouted have the pastures of the wilderness, —for, the tree, hath borne its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine, have yielded their wealth.

23 ए सियोनका मानिस हो, खुशी होओ, आफ्‍ना परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरमा आनन्दित होओ । किनकि उहाँले ठिक समयमा चाँडै शरदको वर्षा दिनुहुनेछ, र तिमीहरूका निम्ति झरी पार्नुहुनेछ, पहिलेझैं नै शरद् र बसन्तका दुवै झरी हुनेछन् ।

Ye sons of Zion, then, exult and be glad in Yahweh your God, for he hath given you the seed-rain, in right manner, —Yea he hath caused to descend for you a down-pour, of seed-rain and of the harvest-rain in the first month;

24 खलाहरू गहुँले भरिनेछन्, र घ्‍याम्‍पोहरू नयाँ दाखमद्य र तेलले भरिएर पोखिनेछन् ।

So shall the threshing-floors, be filled, with corn, —and the vats, overflow, with new wine and oil.

25 “बथानमा हिंड्ने सलहले— ठुला सलह, सखाप पार्ने सलह र नाश गर्ने सलहले — मैले तिमीहरूका बिचमा पठाएको मेरो शक्तिशाली सेनाले, वर्षौंदेखि खाएको बालीको म तिमीहरूलाई क्षतिपुर्ति दिनेछु ।

Then will I make good to you the years which were eaten by the swarming locust, the grass locust, and the corn locust and the creeping locust, —even my great army, which I sent among you.

26 तिमीहरू प्रशस्‍त गरी खानेछौ र भरपेट हुनेछौ, र आफ्‍ना परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वरको नाउँको प्रशंसा गर्नेछौ, जसले तिमीहरूका बिचमा अचम्‍मका काम गर्नुएको छ, र म कहिल्यै आफ्‍ना मानिसहरूमा जाल ल्याउनेछैनँ ।

And ye shall eat and eat, and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of Yahweh your God, who hath dealt with you wondrously, —so shall my people, not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.

27 म इस्राएलको बिचमा छु भनी तिमीहरूले जान्‍नेछौ, र म नै परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वर हुँ, र त्यहाँ अर्को कोही पनि छैन, र म कहिल्यै आफ्‍ना मानिसहरूमा लाज ल्याउनेछैनँ ।

So shall ye know that, in the midst of Israel, I am, and that, I, Yahweh, am your God, and none else, —and my people, shall not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.

28 केही समयपछि सबै मानिसमाथि, म आफ्‍नो आत्मा खन्याउनेछु, र तिमीहरूका छोराहरू र छोरीहरूले अगमवाणी बोल्नेछन् । तिमीहरूका वृद्ध मानिसहरूले सपनाहरू देख्‍नेछन्, र तिमीहरूका जवान मानिसहरूले दर्शनहरू देख्‍नेछन् ।

And it shall come to pass, afterwards, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters, shall prophesy, —your old men, shall dream, dreams, your young men, shall see, visions;

29 साथै ती दिनहरूमा दासहरू र दासीहरूमा, म आफ्‍नो आत्माबाट खन्याउनेछु ।

Moreover also, upon the servants and upon the handmaids—in those days, will I pour out my spirit;

30 आकाश र पृथ्वीमा अचम्‍मका कामहरू, रगत, आगो, र धूँवाका मुस्लाहरू म देखाउनेछु ।

And I will set forth wonders in the heavens, and in the earth, —blood, and fire, and columns of smoke:

31 परमप्रभुको त्यो महान् र भयानक दिन आउनुअघि, सूर्य अन्धकारमा अनि चन्द्रमा रगतमा परिवर्तन हुनेछ ।

The sun, shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, —before the coming of the great and awful day of Yahweh.

32 परमप्रभुको नाउँ पुकार्ने हरेक व्‍यक्‍ति बचाइनेछ । किनकि जस्‍तो परमप्रभुले भन्‍नुभएको छ, सियोन पर्वतमा र यरूशलेममा छुटकारा पाएका मानिसहरू हुनेछन्, जसलाई परमप्रभुले बोलाउनुहुन्छ ।

And it shall come to pass, whosoever, shall call on the name of Yahweh, shall be delivered, —For in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, shall be a delivered remnant, just as Yahweh hath said, and among the survivors, whom Yahweh doth call.
