अय्यूब 9

1 तब अय्यूबले जवाफ दिए र भने,

And Job made answer and said,

2 “यो यस्‍तै हो भनी म साँच्‍चै जान्दछु । तर एक व्यक्ति कसरी परमेश्‍वसित ठिक हुन सक्छ?

Truly, I see that it is so: and how is it possible for a man to get his right before God?

3 उसले परमेश्‍वरसित तर्क गर्न चाह्यो भने, उसले हजारपल्टमा एकपल्ट पनि जवाफ दिन सक्दैन ।

If a man was desiring to go to law with him, he would not be able to give him an answer to one out of a thousand questions.

4 परमेश्‍वर हृदयमा बुद्धिमान् र बलमा शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँको विरुद्धमा कसले आफूलाई कहिलै कठोर पारेको अनि सफल भएको छ र?

He is wise in heart and great in strength: who ever made his face hard against him, and any good came of it?

5 जब उहाँले आफ्नो क्रोधमा पर्वतहरूलाई पल्टाउनुहुन्‍छ, तब उहाँले कसैलाई चेताउनी नदिइएर ती हटाउनुहुन्छ ।

It is he who takes away the mountains without their knowledge, overturning them in his wrath:

6 उहाँले पृथ्वीलाई यसको आफ्नो ठाउँबाट हल्लाउनुहुन्छ, र यसका टेकाहरूलाई कँपाउनुहुन्छ ।

Who is moving the earth out of its place, so that its pillars are shaking:

7 उहाँ उही परमेश्‍वर हुनुहुन्छ जसले सूर्यलाई नउदाउन भन्‍नुहुन्‍छ, र त्‍यो उदाउँदैन, र जसले ताराहरूलाई ढाक्‍नुहुन्छ,

Who gives orders to the sun, and it does not give its light; and who keeps the stars from shining.

8 जो आफैले आकाशलाई तन्‍काउनुहुन्छ, र समुद्रका छालहरूलाई कुल्चिनुहुन्छ,

By whose hand the heavens were stretched out, and who is walking on the waves of the sea:

9 उहाँले सप्‍तर्षि, मृगशिरा र किरकिटी ताराहरू र दक्षिणका तारापुञ्जहरू बनाउनुहुन्छ ।

Who made the Bear and Orion, and the Pleiades, and the store-houses of the south:

10 उहाँले महान् र अगम्‍य कुराहरू, अनि अनगिन्ती उदेकका कामहरू गर्नुहुन्छ ।

Who does great things not to be searched out; yes, wonders without number.

11 हेर, उहाँ मेरो छेउबाट जानुहुन्छ, र पनि म उहाँलाई देख्दिनँ । उहाँ आफ्नो बाटो हिंड्नुहुँदा मलाई पत्तै हुँदैन ।

See, he goes past me and I see him not: he goes on before, but I have no knowledge of him.

12 उहाँले कुनै कुरो खोस्‍नुभयो भने कसले उहाँलाई रोक्‍न सक्छ? कसले उहाँलाई भन्‍न सक्छ, 'तपाईं के गर्दै हुनुहुन्छ?'

If he puts out his hand to take, by whom may it be turned back? who may say to him, What are you doing?

13 परमेश्‍वरले आफ्नो रिस रोक्‍नुहुन्‍न । राहाबका सहयोगीहरू उहाँको मुनि झुक्छन् ।

God's wrath may not be turned back; the helpers of Rahab were bent down under him.

14 कति थोरै जवाफ मैले उहाँलाई दिन सक्छु, उहाँसित तर्क गर्न म शब्दहरू छान्‍न सक्छु र?

How much less may I give an answer to him, using the right words in argument with him?

15 म धर्मी भए तापनि मैले उहाँलाई जवाफ दिन सक्‍दिन । मेरा न्यायकर्तासँत मैले कृपाको लागि बिन्ती मात्र चढाउन सक्‍छु ।

Even if my cause was good, I would not be able to give an answer; I would make request for grace from him who was against me.

16 मैले उहाँलाई पुकारेँ, र उहाँले मलाई जवाफ दिनुभयो भने पनि, उहाँले मेरो आवाज सुन्‍नुभयो भनेर म विश्‍वास गर्दिनँ ।

If I had sent for him to be present, and he had come, I would have no faith that he would give ear to my voice.

17 किनकि उहाँले मलाई आँधीले तोड्नुहुन्छ, र विनाकारण मेरा घाउहरू बढाउनुहुन्छ ।

For I would be crushed by his storm, my wounds would be increased without cause.

18 उहाँले मलाई फेरि सास फेर्ने दिनुहुन्‍न, तर उहाँले मलाई तिक्तताले भर्नुहुन्छ ।

He would not let me take my breath, but I would be full of bitter grief.

19 ताकतको विषय हो भने, उहाँ शक्तिशाली हुनुहुन्छ । न्यायको विषय हो भने, कसले उहाँलाई बोलाउन सक्छ?

If it is a question of strength, he says, Here I am! and if it is a question of a cause at law, he says, Who will give me a fixed day?

20 म ठिक भए पनि मेरो आफ्नै मुखले मलाई दोषी ठहराउँछ । र म दोषरहित भए पनि मेरा वचनले मलाई दोषी प्रमाणित गर्छन् ।

Though I was in the right, he would say that I was in the wrong; I have done no evil; but he says that I am a sinner.

21 म दोषरहित छु, तर अब फेरि म आफ्‍नै बारेमा वास्ता गर्दिनँ । मेरो आफ्नै जीवनलाई म घृणा गर्छु ।

I have done no wrong; I give no thought to what becomes of me; I have no desire for life.

22 यसले मलाई केही फरक पार्दैन । त्यसैले म भन्छु, उहाँले दोषरहित र दुष्‍ट मानिसलाई सँगसँगै नष्‍ट गर्नुहुन्छ ।

It is all the same to me; so I say, He puts an end to the sinner and to him who has done no wrong together.

23 जब कोर्राले अकस्मात् मार्छ, तब उहाँले निर्दोषहरूको निराशाको उपहास गर्नुहुन्छ ।

If death comes suddenly through disease, he makes sport of the fate of those who have done no wrong.

24 पृथ्वी दुष्‍ट मानिसको हातमा दिइएको छ । परमेश्‍वरले यसका न्यायकर्ताहरूका मुहार ढाक्‍नुहन्छ । यसो गर्ने उहाँ हुनुहुन्‍न भने त्‍यो को हो त?

The land is given into the power of the evil-doer; the faces of its judges are covered; if not by him, then who has done it?

25 मेरा दिनहरू कुद्‍ने दूतभन्दा पनि द्रुत गतिमा दौडन्छन् । मेरा दिनहरू भाग्छन् । तिनले कतै पनि भलो देख्दैनन् ।

My days go quicker than a post-runner: they go in flight, they see no good.

26 ती निगालोको डुङ्गाजस्तै चाँडो बगेर छन्, र आफ्नो सिकारलाई वेगसित झम्टने चीलझैं छन् ।

They go rushing on like reed-boats, like an eagle dropping suddenly on its food.

27 आफ्‍ना गुनासाहरूको विषयमा म बिर्सन्छु, आफ्‍नो निराश अनुहार म हटाउँछु र खुसी हुन्छु भनें पनि,

If I say, I will put my grief out of mind, I will let my face be sad no longer and I will be bright;

28 आफ्‍ना सबै शोकदेखि म डराउँछु, किनकि तपाईंले मलाई निर्दोष ठहराउनुहुने छैन भनी म जान्‍दछु ।

I go in fear of all my pains; I am certain that I will not be free from sin in your eyes.

29 म दोषी ठहराइने छु । तब मैले किन व्यर्थैमा कोसिस गर्ने?

You will not let me be clear of sin! why then do I take trouble for nothing?

30 आफैलाई मैले हिउँको पानीले धोएँ, र आफ्‍ना हात अत्यन्तै सफा बनाए पनि,

If I am washed with snow water, and make my hands clean with soap;

31 परमेश्‍वरले मलाई हिलैमा फाल्नुहुन्छ, र मेरा आफ्नै लुगाहरूले मलाई घृणा गर्छन् ।

Then you will have me pushed into the dust, so that I will seem disgusting to my very clothing.

32 किनकि परमेश्‍वर मजस्तै मानिस हुनुहुन्‍न, कि म उहाँलाई जवाफ दिन सकूँ, वा अदालतमा हामी सँगसँगै आउन सकौं ।

For he is not a man as I am, that I might give him an answer, that we might come together before a judge.

33 हाम्रा बिचमा कुनै न्यायधीश छैन, जसले हामी दुवैमाथि आफ्‍ना हात पसार्न सक्छ ।

There is no one to give a decision between us, who might have control over us.

34 अर्को कुनै न्यायाधीश छैन, जसले परमेश्‍वरको लौरो मबाट हटाउन सक्छ, जसले मलाई भयभीत पार्नबाट उहाँको त्रासलाई रोक्‍न सक्छ ।

Let him take away his rod from me and not send his fear on me:

35 तब म बोल्‍नेछु र उहाँदेखि डराउँदिनँ, तर अहिलेको जस्ता कुराहरू छन्, म त्यसो गर्न सक्दिनँ ।

Then I would say what is in my mind without fear of him; for there is no cause of fear in myself.
