अय्यूब 28
1 निश्चय नै चाँदीको एउटा खानी हुन्छ, एउटा ठाउँ छ जहाँ तिनीहरूले सुनलाई शुद्ध पार्छन् ।
Though there is, for silver, a vein, and a place for the gold they refine;
2 फलामलाई जमिनबाट बाहिर निकालिन्छ । धातु पगालेर तामा निकालिन्छ ।
Iron, out of the ore, is taken, and, stone, poureth out copper;
3 एक जना मानिसले अन्धकारलाई हटाउँछ, अँध्यारो अनि घोर अन्धकारमा, पल्लो छेउसम्म खानिजको खोजी गर्छ ।
An end, hath one set to the darkness, and, into every extremity, is, he, making search, for the stone of darkness and death-shade;
4 मानिसहरू बसेका ठाउँभन्दा धेरै टाढा, वा कसैको खुट्टाले नटेकेको ठाउँमा, खानीमा तल जाने एउटा सुरुङ् उसले बनाउँछ । मानिसहरूभन्दा धेरै पर ऊ झुण्डिन्छ । ऊ यताउता हल्लिन्छ ।
He hath sunken a shaft, away from the inhabitants; Places forsaken by the foot, they hang down, away from men, sway to and fro;
5 जमिनमा खद्यान्न उत्पादन हुन्छ भने, मुनिपट्टि यसमा आगो बलिरहेको हुन्छ ।
As for the earth, out of it, cometh forth bread, and, under it, is upturned, as it were fire;
6 यसका ढुङ्गाहरूका ठाउँमा नीर पाइन्छ, र यसमा धूलोमा सुन मिसिएको छ ।
The place of sapphires, are the stones thereof, and it hath, nuggets of gold: —
7 कुनै पनि सिकारी चरालाई त्यहाँ जाने बाटो थाहा हुँदैन, न त बाजको आँखाले त्यसलाई देखेको छ ।
A path, the vulture hath not discerned, nor hath the eye of the hawk scanned it;
8 रवाफिला पशुहरू यस्तो बाटोमा हिंडेका हुँदैनन्, न त हिंस्रक सिंह त्यहाँबाट गएको छ ।
Ravenous beasts have not made a track thereof, neither hath the lion marched thereon:
9 एक जना मानिसले आफ्नो हातले दर्शनढुङ्गा काट्छ । उसले पहाडहरूलाई फेदैदेखि पल्टाउँछ ।
Upon the flint, hath he thrust forth his hand, He hath turned up mountains by the roots;
10 उसले चट्टानहरूका बिचमा सुरुङहरू बनाउँछ । उसका आँखाले त्यहाँ हरेक बहुमूल्य वस्तु देख्छ ।
Among the rocks, hath he cut open streams, and, every precious thing, hath his eye seen:
11 उसले खोलाहरू थुन्छ जसको कारणले ती बग्दैनन् । त्यहाँ जे लुकेको छ, त्यो उसले बाहिर प्रकाशमा ल्याउँछ ।
From trickling, he restraineth, rivers, and, some hidden thing, is he bringing out to light.
12 बुद्धि कहाँ पाइनेछ? सुझबुझको ठाउँ कहाँ छ?
Yet where can, Wisdom, be found? And where is the place of understanding?
13 मानिसलाई यसको मूल्य थाहा छैन, न त यो जीवितहरूको देशमा पाइन्छ ।
Mortal knoweth not the way thereof, neither can it be found in the land of the living;
14 पृथ्वीमुनि रहेको गहिरो पानीले भन्छ, 'त्यो ममा छैन ।' समुद्रले भन्छ, 'त्यो मसित छैन ।'
The resounding deep, hath said, It is not in me! And, the sea, hath said, It is not with me!
15 सुनले त्यसलाई किन्न सकिंदैन, न त यसको मूल्यको रुपमा चाँदी जोख्न नै सकिन्छ ।
Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, neither can silver he weighed as the value thereof;
16 ओपीरको सुनसित त्यसको मूल्य दाँज्न सकिंदैन, न त बहुमूल्य आनिक्स वा नीरसित सकिन्छ ।
It cannot be put into the scales against the gold of Ophir, with costly onyx, or sapphire;
17 सुन र स्फटिक त्यसको बराबरी हुन सक्दैन, न त निखुर सुनका गहनासित त्यो साट्न नै सकिन्छ ।
Neither gold nor crystal can compare with it, nor can, the exchange thereof, be a vessel of pure gold,
18 मूगा र बिल्लौरको त चर्चा नै गर्नुपर्दैन । वास्तवमा बुद्धिको मूल्य मानिकभन्दा बढी हुन्छ ।
Coral or crystal, cannot be mentioned, Yea, a possession, is wisdom, above red coral;
19 कूश देशको पुष्पराज त्यसको बराबर हुँदैन, न त त्यसलाई निखुर सुनले मूल्य तोक्न सकिन्छ ।
The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it, Against purest gold, can it not be weighed.
20 तब बुद्धि कहाँबाट आउँछ? सुझबुझको ठाउँ कहाँ छ?
Whence then cometh, wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?
21 बुद्धिलाई सबै जीवित प्राणीहरूको दृष्टिबाट लुकाइएको छ, र आकाशका चराहरूबाट लुकाएर राखिएको छ ।
Seeing it hath been hid from the eyes of every living thing, and, from the bird of the heavens, hath it been concealed?
22 विनाश र मृत्युले भन्छन्, 'हामीले आफ्ना कानले यसको बारेमा हल्ला मात्र सुनेका छौं ।'
Destruction and death, have said, With our ears, have we heard the report thereof!
23 कसरी यसलाई पाउने हो परमेश्वरले बुझ्नुहुन्छ । यसको बासस्थान उहाँलाई थाहा छ ।
GOD, understandeth the way thereof, and, he, discerneth the place thereof;
24 किनकि उहाँले पृथ्वीको पल्लो कुनामा हेर्नुहुन्छ, सबै आकाशमण्डलको मुनि हेर्नुहुन्छ ।
For, he, unto the ends of the earth, directeth his look, under all the heavens, he seeth;
25 उहाँले नै बतासको शक्ति बनाउनुभयो, र पानीलाई नापेर पोको पारेर पठाउनुभयो ।
Making, for the wind, a weight, and, the waters, he proved by measure,
26 उहाँले झरी परोस् भनी आदेश दिनुभयो, र गर्जनको मार्ग बनाउनुभयो ।
When he made, for the rain, a decree, and a way for the lightning of thunders,
27 तब उहाँले बुद्धि देख्नुभयो, र यसको घोषणा गर्नुभयो । वास्तवमा उहाँले नै यसको स्थापना गर्नुभयो, र जाँच्नुभयो ।
Then, saw he it, and declared it, He settled it, yea also he searched it out;
28 मानिसहरूलाई उहाँले भन्नुभयो, 'हेर्, परमप्रभुको भय— त्यो नै बुद्धि हो । दुष्ट्याइँबाट अलग रहनु नै सुझबुझ हो' ।”
And said to the son of earth, Lo! the reverence of the Lord, that, is wisdom, and, to avoid evil, is understanding.
