यर्मिया 8

1 “यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो, त्यस बेला तिनीहरूले चिहानहरूबाट यहूदाका राजाहरू, यसका अधिकारीहरू, पुजारीहरू, अगमवक्ताहरू र यरूशलेमका बासिन्दाहरूका हड्‍डीहरू निकाल्नेछन् ।

“At that time,” A declaration of YHWH, “They bring the bones of the kings of Judah, And the bones of its princes, And the bones of the priests, And the bones of the prophets, And the bones of inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,

2 त्यसपछि तिनीहरूले सूर्य, चन्द्रमा र आकाशका सबै ताराको प्रकाशमा तिनलाई फैलाउनेछन् । तिनीहरूले आकाशका यी कुराहरूलाई पछ्याएका छन्, सेवा गरेका छन्, तिनको खोजी गरेका छन् र पुजा गरेका छन् । हड्‍डीहरू फेरि जम्मा गरिने र गाडिने छैनन् । ती जमिनको सतहमा मलझैं परिरहनेछन् ।

And have spread them to sun, and to moon, And to all the host of the heavens, that they have loved, And that they have served, And that they have walked after, And that they have sought, And to which they have bowed themselves, They are not gathered, nor buried, They are for dung on the face of the ground.

3 हरेक बाँकी रहेको ठाउँ जहाँ मैले तनीहरूलाई धपाएको छु, त्यहाँ तिनीहरूले आफ्‍नो निम्‍ति जीवनको साटो मृत्यु रोज्नेछन्, यो सर्वशक्तिमान् परमप्रभुको घोषण हो ।

And death is chosen rather than life By all the remnant who are left of this evil family, In all the remaining places, to where I have driven them,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.

4 त्यसैले तिनीहरूलाई भन्, “परमप्रभु यसो भन्‍नुहुन्छ, 'के कोही लडेर उठ्दैन र? के कोही हरायो भने त्यो फर्केर आउन खोज्दैन र?

“And you have said to them, Thus said YHWH: Do they fall, and not rise? Does he turn back, and not return?

5 यरूशलेमका मानिसहरू किन स्थायी विश्‍वासहीनतामा तर्केर गएका छन् त? तिनीहरू विश्‍वासघातमा टाँसिरहन्छन्, र पश्‍चात्ताप गर्न इन्कार गर्छन् ।

Why has this people of Jerusalem Turned back—a continuous backsliding? They have kept hold on deceit, They have refused to turn back.

6 मैले ध्यान दिएँ, र सुनें, तर तिनीहरूले सही कुरा बोलेनन् । आफ्नो दुष्‍टताको लागि कोही पनि दुःखी भएन, 'मैले के गरेको छु?' भनेर सोध्‍ने कुनै व्‍यक्‍ति छैन । घोडा युद्धमा गएझैं तिनीहरू सबै आफूलाई इच्छा लागेको ठाउँमा जान्छन् ।

I have given attention, indeed, I listen, They do not speak right, No man has sighed over his wickedness, Saying, What have I done? Everyone has turned to his courses, As a horse is rushing into battle.

7 आकाशको सारस अनि ढुकुर, गौँथली र सारिका चरा पनि आफ्नो समय थाहा छ । तिनीहरू ठिक समयमा बसाइँ सर्छन्, तर मेरा मानिसहरूले परमप्रभुका आज्ञाहरू जान्दैनन् ।

Even a stork in the heavens has known her seasons, And turtle, and swallow, and crane, Have watched the time of their coming, And—My people have not known the judgment of YHWH.

8 'परमप्रभुको व्यवस्था हामीसित भएको हुनाले हामी बुद्धिमान छौं' भनी तिमीहरू कसरी भन्‍न सक्छौ? वास्तवमा, हेर, शास्‍त्रीहरूको छलपूर्ण कलमले धलको सृजना गरेको छ ।

How do you say, We [are] wise, And the Law of YHWH [is] with us? Surely, behold, it has worked falsely, The false pen of scribes.

9 बुद्धिमान् मानिसहरू लज्‍जित हुनेछन् । तिनीहरू हताश भएका छन् र पासोमा परेका छन् । हेर, तिनीहरूले परमप्रभुको वचन इन्कार गर्छन्, यसैले तिनीहरूको बुद्धिको के काम?

The wise have been ashamed, They have been frightened, and are captured, Behold, they kicked against a word of YHWH, And what wisdom do they have?

10 त्यसैले म तिनीहरूका पत्‍नीहरू अरूलाई दिनेछु, र तिनीहरूका खेतबारी अधिकार गर्नेहरूलाई म ति दिनेछु, किनकि सानादेखि ठुलासम्म सबै जना बेइमान आर्जनको लागि लोभी छन् । अगमवक्तादेखि पुजारीसम्म सबैले छलको अभ्यास गर्छन् ।

Therefore, I give their wives to others, Their fields to dispossessors, For from the least even to the greatest, Everyone is gaining dishonest gain, From prophet even to priest, everyone is dealing falsely.

11 शान्‍ति नै नहुँदा पनि 'शान्ति, शान्ति' भनेर तिनीहरूले मेरा मानिसहरूको चोटलाई अलिअलि मात्र निको पारेका छन् ।

And they heal the breach of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying, Peace, peace! And there is no peace.

12 तिनीहरूले घृणित कामहरू गर्दा के तिनीहरू लज्‍जित भए? तिनीहरू लज्‍जित भएनन् । कसरी शर्म मान्‍ने भन्‍ने कुरा पनि तिनीहरूलाई थाहा भएन । त्यसैले पतन भएकाहरूका बिचमा तिनीहरू पतन हुनेछन् । तिनीहरूलाई दण्ड दिइँदा तिनीहरू तल खसालिने छन्, परमप्रभु भन्‍नुहुन्छ ।

They were ashamed when they did abomination! Indeed, they are not ashamed at all, And they have not known blushing, Therefore, they fall among falling ones, They stumble in the time of their inspection, said YHWH.

13 म तिनीहरूलाई पूर्ण रूपमा हटाइदिने छु, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो । दाखका बोटहरूमा दाख हुनेछैन, न त अञ्जीरका रुखहरूमा अञ्जीर हुनेछ । किनकि पात सुकेर जानेछ, र मैले तिनीहरूलाई दिएका कुरा हराएर जानेछ ।

I utterly consume them,” A declaration of YHWH, “There are no grapes in the vine, Indeed, there are no figs in the fig tree, And the leaf has faded, And the strength they have passes from them.

14 हामी किन यहाँ बसिरहेका छौं? सँगसँगै आओ । हामी किल्लाबन्दी गरिएका सहरहरूमा जाऔं, र त्यहाँ हामी मरेर चुप बनौं । किनकि परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्‍वरले हामीलाई चुप पार्नुहुनेछ । उहाँले हामीलाई विष पिउन लगाउनुहुनेछ किनकि हामीले उहाँको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं ।

Why are we sitting still? Be gathered, and we go into the fortified cities, And we are silent there, For our God YHWH has made us silent, Indeed, He causes us to drink water of gall, For we have sinned against YHWH.

15 हामी शान्तिको अपेक्षा गर्दैछौं, तर त्यहाँ कुनै असल कुरो हुनेछैन । हामी चङ्गाइको समयको आशा गर्दैछौं, तर त्यहाँ त्रास हुनेछ ।

Looking for peace—and there is no good, For a time of healing, and behold—terror.

16 दानबाट त्यसका घोडाहरूको घ्वार-घ्वार आवाज सुनिन्छ । त्यसका शक्तिशाली घोडाहरूको हिनहिनाइको आवाजमा पुरै पृथ्वी हल्लिन्छ । किनकि तिनीहरू आउनेछन् र यो देश र यसको सम्पत्ति, सहर र यसमा बस्‍नेहरूलाई स्वाहा पार्नेछन् ।

The snorting of his horses has been heard from Dan, From the voice of the neighings of his mighty ones, All the land has trembled, And they come in and consume the land and its fullness, The city and the inhabitants in it.

17 किनकि हेर, म तिमीहरूका बिचमा सर्पहरू, तिमीहरूका टुनामुनाले वशमा पार्न नसक्‍ने विषालु सर्पहरू पठाउँदैछु । तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई डस्‍नेछन्, यो परमप्रभुको घोषणा हो ।

For behold, I am sending serpents among you, Vipers that have no charmer, And they have bitten you,” A declaration of YHWH.

18 मेरो शोकको कुनै अन्त छैन, र मेरो हृदय व्याकुल भएको छ ।

My sorrow [is] beyond comfort, My heart [is] sick in me.

19 हेर्नुहोस्, टाढाको देशमा भएका मेरो मानिसहरूको छोरीको क्रन्दन सुन्‍नुहोस् । के परमप्रभु सियोनमा हुनुहुन्‍न र? के त्यसका राजा अहिले त्यहाँ हुनुहुन्‍न र? त्यसो भए, तिनीहरूले आफ्ना खोपिएका मूर्तिहरू र बेकम्मा विदेशी देवताहरूले मलाई किन रिस उठाउँछन् त?

Behold, the voice of a cry of the daughter of my people from a far-off land, Is YHWH not in Zion? Is her King not in her? “Why have they provoked Me with their carved images, With the vanities of a foreigner?”

20 कटनीको समय बितेको छ, ग्रीष्म ऋतु पनि सकिएको छ । तरै पनि हामी बचाइएका छैनौं ।

Harvest has passed, summer has ended, And we have not been saved.

21 मेरा मानिसहरूको छोरीको चोटको कारणले मलाई मलाई चोट लागेको छ । त्यसलाई आइपरेका डरलाग्दा कुराहरूमा म शोक गर्छु । म लज्‍जित भएको छु ।

For a breach of the daughter of my people I have been broken, I have been dark, Astonishment has seized me.

22 के गिलादमा कुनै औषधी छैन? के त्यहाँ कुनै निको पार्न व्‍यक्‍ति छैन? मेरा मानिसहरूको छोरीको चोट किन निको भएको छैन त?

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why has the health of the daughter of my people not gone up?
